Our group of 5 stopped here for breakfast on our drive home from Georgia. The place itself was inviting and the bathrooms were clean, which is always important for me. Our waitress appeared to be tired and not in the mood to be at work but she wasn't all together unpleasant. My husband ordered a Western Omelette with fruits on the side with Biscuits and I ordered Steak and Eggs with fruits on the side with toast. I ordered my steak medium well, like I always do and when it came out it was burnt and gross looking. The manager, who helped to bring out our food, asked if I would like them to prepare it again for me. I declined because at this point we were waiting a while to get our food and we wanted to get back on the road. My steak was horrible and tasted like rubber but my husband and everyone else in our party sort of enjoyed their food. I got this good bacon cheeseburger here it was pretty good. Me and my family all had a quality good time with each other there. It was like some good ol home cookin in the south for me and my kinfolk. Got a good wiff of sole of that good ol hashbrown fart in the bathroom it smelt just like at home. Big fan of Bob Evans and have had good experiences at each location weve visited between NJ, TN, FL. Stopped for lunch today with family. We had chicken pot pie, green beans, mac n cheese, turkey dinner. Everyone rated their food as 5/5 except the pumpkin bread that was dry - and we were served end pieces only- causing a drop in the star rating. Pot piecrust was perfect! Had a very long wait because they "thought they sat us" aka forgot we were waiting outside which we told them not once, but twice! Finally got seated after waiting in the cold.. table for 6 which ended up being a booth separated by a lowered wall and a small table on the other side of the wall. Why when we asked for a table for 6 could they not just slide the small table together with another table? Haven't even eaten yet and our server came over and "dropped" our silverware out of the napkins twice. Usually love Bob Evans..it's our go to restaurant when we travel, but not today. Poor attitude from employees and let's not forget the poor service! Maybe everyone is having a bad day, but all it did was leave us with a bad taste in our mouth. A friend just raves about Bob Evans but sadly to say I'm not sure why, this location has the slowest service of any place I've been in a while and I eat out a lot 4-5 per week. the food was mediocre at best. Portions are pretty huge for such a low price, 3 pieces of bread with it or 2 if you get a roll. Food is good. Beverages are Pepsi products, tea, and coffee. I'm a tea drinker and honestly dislike getting the tea even though it's awful every time I go. Customer service is good. This is a very underrated place to eat in Lake City, FL. read more

Half the food was overcooked, half was undercooked. All tasted like crap. Only the grits were edible. If you can't cook simple breakfast food, you pretty much can't cook. My husband and I decided to try Bob Evans for breakfast the morning after Valentine's Day. When we arrived there was a party of 5 in front of us and a couple came in after us. After the hostess seated the party of 5, she did not acknowledge us and totally skipped us and proceeded to seat the couple behind us. It was like we wasn't even there. Yep, I'm gonna do it. I am going to risk my culinary credibility by reviewing a Bob Evans. Every time I make it south of the Georgia state line I head to Bob Evans. Why, you ask? Because they have damn good sweet tea. That is enough for me. But no children, that is not all. Their sausage gravy is seriously better than any of my backwoods country family's version, and that says a LOT! This was by far one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. After waiting for 30 min, our waitress, Keysha, came by to ask how we were doing. Problem was we had never received our order. She said she would check on it. 20 min later, the Assistant manager came by to tell us that our ticket had never been given to the kitchen. She offered no courtesy and barely apologized for the mix up. 15 minutes later, we still had not seen our waitress or food, so we left. The coffee was just as bad as the service. However, make sure to check out the cracker barrel across the highway for a MUCH better customer service experience. read more

We gave this place a second chance when we were driving to Tampa. Took 90 mins to get coffee, juice, French toast, and biscuits and gravy. We're just stupid since we actually waited that long. Never again! Yes they were busy but we were seated right away and waited 20 mins just for coffee. read more

Service was rather bad. Server took 10 minutes to even come to the table. Took a half hour just to get food. Ordered an egg over easy and got it with a broken yolk and uncooked whites. Coffee was cold. Biscuits were good though. Complained to the waitress about the egg and the manager came and paid the whole bill so that was nice. read more

Brought my daughter in on our way to Orlando and it was her first time to Bob Evans. Though the waitress got much of our order incorrect the food was fabulous. Great food and service! This is one if our favorite places to eat, besides our usual at Phish Heads. We love the pot roast and turkey 3 course meal. The food is always excellent, freshly made and is always consistant. You definitely do not leave hungry!! Leslie is our server of choice. She is super friendly, upbeat, knowledgeable and is just always spot on!!! The other servers have been great too. When we are in the mood for home styled cooking this is where we go. We live in Atlanta and don't have a Bob Evans anywhere close. Every road trip is planned around catching a Bob Evans. We stopped here on the way to Florida and now on our way back. We have never ate at one of these in the past and we were pleasantly surprised. We give it 3 stars but would recommend and return to give them more business. There was no problem with the service but we are what some would call fluffy foodies! I love to cook and see it as a form of art at times. I had the meatloaf and it was really good. It was dense but full of flavor. The part they lack is on basic seasoning of their food. Potatoes were boiled and undercooked and bland of flavor on the wife and daughter's dish. The portions are huge and there were many pluses from our experience. Service was outstanding (tipped 30%) and it was super clean and quick. Family of four ate (all full and remember - we are fluffy!) for $30 not including tip. What would it take for a 5 star? James Beard can answer that. The food is always pretty good here - getting a good waitress is hit and miss. Today for instance, it's not that busy and or order wan't correct and waitress never came back to check or offer refills on drinks. A waitress not ours, took care of us and her own tables! This restaurant has excellent Food and service! Clean, staff is very friendly. We had the three course steak with bacon, very good flavour, perfectly cooked. The Mac and cheese is among the best you can get. The salad was crisp and fresh. The desert of a caramel Sunday added the crowning touch. All for $12.!! read more

I hate to even give this place 1 star because they sure didn't deserve it! We live in Ohio. My husband and son are working in Florida so my youngest son and I came to visit for Thanksgiving. I ordered the farm feast online and scheduled the pick up for 8:00 PM the night before Thanksgiving. We should've just went to Golden Corral instead. We walked in and it took at least 10 minutes for the hostess to even acknowledge us. We saw her wondering around as if she was lost a few times before she finally came up to us. I showed her where I had ordered online and she made the comment "Your feast is going to make me quit". Finally our food was brought out my a man (he was very nice and the only bright spot of this place or visit). We got to our Jeep and looked through the stuff. None of the extras we had asked for online ahead of time were included. No butter, jellies, honey, plates, etc. Also our gallon of sweet tea that costs $5 was nowhere to be found. I went back in and it was the lovely-mannered hostess again. She seemed even more annoyed. She gave me two half gallons and we left and stopped by Walmart for the other extras that weren't included despite us asking for them. When we got back the sweet tea turned out to be unsweetened. This was a colossal waste of $135.33. read more

I did a carry-out of a Farm House hamburger combo today. I didn't order a drink. The burger was the three-cheese Farm House hamburger. I rate it about a 3 out of 5. Everything on the burger seemed fresh, it just didn't seem to have much taste. The fries were, to be kind, uninspired; I give them a 2 out of 5. The combo also included a slaw, but I put it in the refrigerator to eat later, so I can't rate it yet. I don't remember ever having a hamburger at Bob Evans before. I have had other very good meals at this Bob Evans location before. The management does not appear to have changed. I suspect that most of the meals are still very good, but perhaps burgers just are something that they don't very well, at least yet. Oh, the cost of this combo was about $9.00. For Michigan (where the home office of Bob Evans is), this may be considered a moderate price, but here in the deep South in a small town I consider this a little expensive for what I got. I've given this Bob Evans a 3 out of 5 stars, in spite of the so-so meal, because the store was very clean and attractive (the store had a remodeling just over two years ago) and the people were friendly and helpful. read more
