The selection of food is great! My husband had one of the two meat special and I had the fried chicken. Neither of us had any complaints with our meals. Our waitress was nice and answered my questions. The outside of the restaurant is nice and clean, but when you sit down at your table don't look up. I made this mistake and was disgusted by how filthy the ac/heat vents and returns were. Some dirt is expected, but these look like they hadn't been cleaned in way too long. I asked the waitress about them. She agreed they were nasty and said she would say something to Patrick about cleaning them. She also said the restaurant would be closing for a week and maybe everything would get deep cleaned. If I just had to rate the food it would have been 5 stars but cleanliness is a big deal too. read more

Good food, friendly service and a charming country atmosphere. We stopped in for lunch on a Thursday at 1pm on our way up to Atlanta. We had the fried Chicken and 2 sides; For me that was green beans and black eyed peas. My partner had Mac & cheese and dumplings. It was all good and reminded me of home farm cooking. This place is a hidden gem stone located right off the highway. The old time charm is refreshing and the kind staff was a delight. I had the salad bar, when do you ever see a salad bar anymore?? The chicken salad was so good and the items were all fresh and full of color. The eggs over easy were cooked just right, the hash was filling and the cheese grits were comforting. I wish we had a farm house near our residence because I would be there every weekend! This is real southern food! Reminds me of how my grandmother made food. A busy spot for Southern comfort food, but not my favorite. We visited Farm House on a Sunday afternoon for lunch, and it was exactly what you'd expect for a family-friendly Southern comfort food place: packed, noisy, and bustling with families. After a 15 minute wait for a table for three, we were seated and ready to give it a try. The menu focuses on quick, old-school Southern cooking, and we ordered two cheeseburgers with fries, the kids' spaghetti, and a side of onion rings. Unfortunately, the cheeseburgers were overcooked and tough... reminiscent of when my uncle leaves burgers on the grill a little too long. They weren't terrible, but certainly not memorable. The fries were fine: standard, basic fries that did the job. The onion rings were decent, though the batter was soft rather than crispy or textured, which may not be everyone's preference. Service was quick and efficient, but there wasn't much room for pleasantries. It's clear the servers are working hard to keep up with the nonstop pace, and it felt a little chaotic at times. We even saw two servers collide, almost sending drinks flying, followed by a quick exchange of not-so-friendly looks. As for the atmosphere--be prepared for lots of noise, chatter, and crying babies. Both tables next to us had little ones in full meltdown mode, and loud iPads didn't help the noise level. While I understand this comes with the territory at family-friendly spots, it's something to keep in mind if you're looking for a more relaxed or quiet meal. Overall, Farmhouse serves up quick, no-frills Southern comfort food, but nothing stood out enough for me to return for lunch or dinner. Country style restaurant with great service. My wife had chicken and dumplings and I had meatloaf. Chicken and dumplings were very good. The meatloaf was good, not great. Most of the vegetables were good, but some were a little too salty. You won't go hungry because the portions are generous. The prices are very reasonable. My husband and I have enjoyed this restaurant for over 20 years now. This is my go-to for comfort food whenever we are in the area. If you miss the food and atmosphere that a similar chain used to offer, the Farm House still has those qualities. This place was packed! Not sure why though, service was very friendly but the food was meh. They have virtually no veggie options, I was getting the veggie plate where you pick 4 veggie sides and, being a southern restaurant, I asked which ones didn't have meat and was told they all did. So then went through each one to find ones that didn't have meat. I got fries, mac and cheese, squash and candied yams. The yams were actually really good - like dessert. The fries were blah, the Mac and cheese was blah and the fries were OK. Pretty disappointed overall. After stopping at the welcome center I got a coupon for free peach cobbler, which was ok, very sweet but was alright. As a vegetarian though, I won't be back, but it's a cute stop of you like traditional, fried southern food. read more

The food was ok, nothing to make a special trip for. My main complaint is with the server. Can't remember her name, but she's tall & big boned kinda like a man. She treated my husband nasty. Slamming his drink & plate. She acted like he personally did something to her. We all looked at each other like, what the hell? Then someone in our party took me aside & asked if I noticed how nasty the server was to my husband. My husband did absolutely nothing to this girl except, perhaps, be born black ‍? Not sure, that was the only difference between him & the rest of us. Due to this, I would not recommend this eatery to dark skinned people or mixed race families. VERY OFFENDED& VERY DISGUSTED needless to say she got $12 tip on a $119 bill which, if I would have paid her tip would've been 0, but my husband paid & he's usually an overachiever when it comes to tipping, but not this time. This was a stop was more about convenience than reviews, but I was very pleasantly surprised. This is a traditional southern lunch spot - think a meat and two sides and I really liked it. First off they had an honest to goodness salad bar. I can't remember the last time I have seen a good salad bar, but viola, there it was. First off, parking is easy and plentiful. Second service was friendly, efficient and fun (yes, fun). But you really want to hear about the food: Salad Bar - really unexpected and really good. Cornbread bites - taste was good, but they were so dry it was a little off putting. Potato salad - this was on the salad bar, it looked like rice pudding so I was not sure what it was, but it was DELICIOUS. Blackened Tilapia - the fish was cooked perfectly, the blackened spice was a bit salty in spots, but overall it was excellent. Hush puppies - another solid choice, they were SUBLIME and normally I don't like hush puppies. Field Peas - I need to rethink my vegetables, I asked for field peas and got black eyed peas. The corn was straight out of the bulk-buy generic grocery store cans -- melted a little butter on top after it was boiled. If it hadn't been for the corn muffins & candied yams -- I'd have only given one star! My husband even said he felt like he was eating prison food because his was sooooo bland! The service was great. Very convenient to I-75 with loads of parking, we visited while on a long road trip. Service was warm, welcoming and fast. Food was just OK. We both had omelets,hashbrowns and a biscuit with 1 cup of tea. Bill was $24. The biscuit was the star, but that's not really saying much. Restrooms are "well used" and could definitely use a deep clean and refurbishment. At 8 AM on a Tuesday, the place was about 1/3 full with seniors, police officers, and a few construction gents. This homestyle eatery is just what we expected! Healthy sized portions of good food. Nothing too fancy however the hubby had quail and steak which you cannot get just any where. He really enjoyed the quail. The cornbread and rolls are fantastic. The cornbread stuffing was enjoyed by my hubby too. We both really liked the sweet potato fries too.
