This is one of the worst Bob's that I've been to. It never seems clean, the servers often complain to our table about other coworkers or their issues. The food has been pretty dry and bland the last couple of times. The setup leaves you feeling as if you are in other people's areas and it's so crowded. We went in on a Friday night, they were not busy, was taken to our seats after waiting about 5 minutes. Tried joking with the host, he seemed irritated. We sat at our table and 10 minutes before our drink order was taken. Our waiter seemed like he was new and it felt awkward when he came back to take our order after 15 minutes of waiting. We ordered our food and waited over 30 minutes, maybe 40 minutes for our food. My wifes potato soup was not done and i had about 4 bites of mashed potatoes (like it was the end of the pan and didn't want to make more). While sitting at our table we could hear a manager? yelling at an employee and threatening to write him up or fire him (this needed to be taken into an office area). The employee was being lazy and not wanting to do his job as what we heard. I understand it is hard to find good workers today, but this whole situation could have been handled better. The other side of the restaurant seemed to have better servers. We also noticed several people coming in for DoorDash etc.. having to wait wait longer than they should have for the order. There aren't many places that serve breakfast at 8:00 pm in this town. So when I'm visiting here and thinking about an omelette in the evening i find myself at Bob Evans. It was actually quite busy here for a weeknight only an hour before closing time. Only two servers,and both were running. Our table had looked like it had been cleaned rather hastily as they were some crumbs and a few sticky spots. Service was very good, considering that each server had quite a few tables. Veggie hash is back on the menu, and it is tasty. My mom, not a fan of 8 pm breakfast, enjoyed her baked potato soup. We both liked the twisted cheese appetizer. All in all about what I expect from. This place looks great and refreshed after its complete renovations in recent years. It's much more bright, open and lots of merchandise and baked goods for sale. Our server Ash was very friendly, prompt and helpful. The crepes have returned here (as of April '19) and are huge! Wish there was an a la carte option to just get one crepe. Lots of new menu items here but they still do all the classics of breakfast just right! read more

Went here for breakfast at my suggestion this morning. I've rarely been so disappointed in my life. I got the homestead breakfast, a long time favorite. The scrambled eggs were completely flat and over cooked. Scrambled eggs are supposed to be soft and fluffy, people! It's like they just poured them on the griddle and walked away. The home fries were slightly better, but also over cooked, and tough. The bacon, on the other hand, was severely under cooked. I wanted to ask if I was supposed to finish cooking it at home, but I refrained. My dogs enjoyed it. The only good part of breakfast was the biscuits and gravy. Oh, and I got a tiny cup of hot chocolate that cost $2.39 and was mostly hot water. Flavorless, but warm. Smh. I won't be going here again until I hear they have better cooks. I'll drive clear across town and go to Waffle House, where they teach their cooks how to actually cook! read more

Order for pickup shows 11:15 on receipt which wasn't ready by the . Waited 20 more minutes and decided to walk inside. Talked to the man in the front that checked people in for seating and he said he'll bring it out when it's ready because they're really busy - no apology. Went out to the car and waited another 30 mins and walked in a 2nd time because calls weren't being answered. Food was sitting there, picked up and left. Came home to see items missing. Gets back into car to go back to the location. Waited again for order to be made. First time and most likely the last. read more

I usually love going to Bob Evans but not tonight. Terrible service. Had to wait 10-15 minutes before a server got to us. Waited another 5 minutes for drinks. Put our order in and asked for our biscuits and gravy to be brought out right away. 10 minutes later we were informed that they had no biscuits. They would put some in but it would be 10-15 minutes. So when our food came my scrambled eggs were not done, hash browns greasy. The only good thing was that our food was free. Got to take biscuits and gravy home, but didn't want to eat it after this poor experience. read more

The manager is beyond rude is not willing to fix mistakes that were upon them. Also the to go team failed to notify us till it was pick up time that they could not give us half of our order. Do not eat there unless you want someone to be rude to you the whole time you are trying to get your meal. Worst customer service I have ever seen. read more

If you enjoy hearing the f-bomb during dinner, this is the place...four times from the kitchen. Wrong toast, then toast with no butter. Did not get pancakes. We never saw our waiter after the food was delivered. Waiters stacked dirty dishes on the three tables next to us and walked away. I will give Janee (sp) props. Terrible in every way! This restaurant has undergone a sea change in the 6 months since I was last here. There seems to be no management now - just a herd of young people chatting together, completely indifferent. 1. The restaurant was absolutely filthy - the floor looked as if it hadn't been swept in days, and there was a terrible smell 2. No one greeted us or seated us, as is the normal situation at other Bob Evans. When we asked if we should seat ourselves, the waiter said "Be my guest." 3. The restaurant was cold -- two older couples came and asked if the air conditioner could be turned down (in October), and the waitress said they had no control over the thermostat, which is obviously untrue. Both parties left. No one cared. 4. The food was slow and mediocre - the salad tasted of soap. read more

We have been visiting Bob Evans in Lima for more that thirty years. Last Thursday 10/15/15, we went there for dinner around 7PM. There were surprisingly few customers in the restaurant. After forty minutes we were seen by a server and placed our orders. The server was pleasant and seemed to be trying to provide us with good service. She brought me my beverage and had to be reminded to bring one for my wife. My order of 2 pc chicken was dry as if it had been sitting for awhile. My green beans had been omitted and I asked the server; she apologized for the delay. The problem from our end was that two other customers, who had arrived later than we did, were served their beans however. By wife was so upset by that time she didn't want to eat at all. Usually we could rely on Bob's for a good meal and good service. This unit definitely doesn't measure up. I did eat the meal that I was served however. We have a newer restaurant (Lulu's) where we find both food and service to be good and timely. read more

Have been here a couple of times recently. Very slow when there are not that many customers. Don't understand how or why. Also they need to do some deep cleaning. Currently sitting here looking at a large picture that has LARGE splatters of food on front of the glass. Can't see how it would be missed by anyone that should be cleaning. Wood work is the same on the wall including up on the ceiling. Does not take a 'trained eye to see it. Just maybe someone that sits too long waiting. While writing this the food finally came. Hash browns were cold-sigh! It is not like there is a whole lot of competition in this town. Could be the best place to eat. Management needs to step it up. This was my 2nd Thanksgiving at this Bob Evans. For the price of the special for the holiday and all the food you get, it's a great deal...especially since there's no dishes to do afterwards. The main downfall and why I didn't give it 4 stars was due to the cranberry relish. The taste was excellent....however when it's served in a Jell-O shot container and only about a spoon and a half...it was a joke. I'd just as soon had it as a side vs. a tidbit like that. Went to the Cable Rd Lima location for Breakfast. Will never go back. We waited five minutes to be seated and 15 at our table with no one even acknowledging us until we got up to leave. We eat at the Sidney and Wapak ones all the time. Chose the Lima location for a change of scenery..drove to Lima only to be disappointed. i ordered a loaded baked potato from this location today. This was the most disgusting loaded potato i have ever seen in my life. There was a huge hand full of disgusting soggy, fatty, nasty bacon on it, this handful nearing the size of the potato, was clearly and carelessly just shoved on there and then they DRENCHED it in sour cream to try to hide their disgusting mess. The manager didnt seem bothered by this at all when i called just now to make the complain. There was no concern about this at all in her voice so it is clear that this type of stuff coming out of her kitchen is Okay by her. This is unfortunate because i have ate here often, but i honestly dont even think i will be going back anymore. I stopped in for lunch with a friend today. Upon being seated, our waitress, Natalie, asked what we wanted to drink & we asked for a few minutes. We watched our waitress seat & take orders from other tables while walking passed our table several times. I stopped her & told her "we were ready to order when she gets a minute". She responded, "you'll have to wait". After several more minutes, she came to take our order & she had an attitude. We got our food then she ignored us, never asked if our food was okay, never refilled our drinks. She went to the table behind us 10 times asking them politely if everything was okay & refilling their drinks. I could not get her attention to refill our drinks because she walked passed so fast. She finally saw my empty cup & refilled it but did not refilled my friends drink. She brought our check & never said a word to us. Why? We were treated this way because we weren't ready to order as soon as we sat down! We will go some place else if this is the kind of "respect" you receive because you ask for a minute to look at the menu. read more
