We went to Lock Sixteen for dinner tonight. The locals rave about it but honestly I'm shocked they are still open with all the other great options in Lima. The floor was dirty, my shoes stuck to the floor. The high chair my toddler used was sticky and grimy, probably hasn't been cleaned in a while. I asked for a high chair 3 times. Meanwhile the hostess and server said they'd bring it. They didn't but they watched as I struggled with my toddler. My husband finally got the high chair, 3 feet from our table. Not sure why they kept saying they'd bring it but wouldn't. We also asked for kids menus numerous times. They had to print them and the printer wasn't working right. That honestly boggled my mind that there's no back up. Then the server came and asked what we'd like to order when we still didn't have a kids menu. I said I'd love to order and reminded her we had no kids menu. She just stared at me. I had to ask if she could just tell us what was on the kid's menu so we could order. I got a Caesar salad, about 1/3 of it was rotten lettuce, barely any green romaine. Several chunks of the ends that were inedible. A family member ordered the pick 2. They were out of green beans and pickles. I ordered a medium rare steak, it came out basically well. The flavor was alright, not the best, not awful. My husband got the Philly cheesesteak. He said the fries and sandwich were good, but the bun could've been toasted. My 2 year old got mashed potatoes. I asked for a spoon for him. She brought a huge tablespoon for him. I explained nicely again the spoon was for the two year old. She stared at me. I asked if she could get a small spoon as it's for the toddler. She came out and was kind of snippy saying "this is the smallest spoon we have" bringing the teaspoon, which is what's appropriate for a 2 year old. This is a great atmosphere. There's a dining room section with a bar and a separate bar area. There is also a room that you can use for groups. The food was good. They serve Pepsi products, but have Diet Mountain Dew as an option if you're not a Diet Pepsi fan. Third visit to the place. Didn't wanna review after the 1st 2 times. (2-3 hour visits because they are crazy slow with semi cold food) But..... after 20 minutes before a server tended to us it took about 15 minutes to get the drinks. Then it was about 45 minutes before the food was served. Really???? 4 burgers and a wrap can't be tooooooo crazy. I asked questions about the pickles and the waitress said sometimes they look funny. Grandson wanted to eat a steak on his 13th birthday and chose Lock 16. There were 6 of us and everyone said their meals were very good. I had the filet and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had while others had wraps and hamburgers. Our server was very attentive even though she was also working several other tables. My only issue is that they have no way to alert people when their table is ready. If the small waiting room is filled and you have to wait 15-30 minutes in your car, it would be a pain to keep going in a checking especially in inclement weather. When we arrived the host was absent for awhile before seating us. Not very friendly. Not rude either just existing. The large room was about 80 degrees which was too hot for my liking. The waitress was attentive and the food was good. However when we went to pay our bills my friend and I both made comments that there was no change. Apparently they decided what to do with MY money. So I took a dollar back out of their tip. It wasn't the amount it was the fact they thought they could decide when to keep my hard earned money. I've been trying to get into this place since they moved and reopened but dinner is crazy busy (every night) with overflow parking in the Menards store! The place is so much larger inside than it appears with plenty of seating. Had lunch with a friend and it was a great experience! Waitress was wonderful and attentive. Our 10 year old requested steak for her 10th birthday dinner. I thought we couldn't go wrong. The steak was tough, gristley and dry. Half was dripping blood and the other was just too well done. The service is great always. The first time I was here, I got the fried shrimp dinner. It took forever, and I'm guessing it's because my shrimp had to deep fry to the consistency of a tire. The steakhouse salad is ok, but I'm sad it's their "signature" with as mediocre as it is. Lastly, the seared tuna is just that. Seared tuna. Not a single spice anywhere to be found. I ate here with the SO and one of his co-workers last Friday evening. I had the filet and bacon wrapped scallops. I found my steak properly cooked and tasty. The scallops were great. They shoud rename this entree the "bacon lover's surf and turf." I had the sweet potato as my side and mine was fine. The SO's was huge and a little burnt but it was so big there was plenty to "tater" to enjoy. One thing I liked was that our server brought a small plate of crudite (or raw veggies) and some ranch dressing for nibbling when we sat down. If presented with raw veggies as a appetizer, I will take advantage of them (got to increase that veggie intake!) Yes this place is set up with a sports bar atmosphere, but it was roomy. Decided to visit this restaurant during a short trip, was looking for a nice steak to eat. Mediocre atmosphere. The hostess was very friendly. Prices were decent, but the service was slow. When I asked for the soup of the day I was told one thing and received something totally different. My girlfriend ordered a steak well-done and the steak was brought out medium at most. Alright so we tried this place in May 2014 and it was really not good at all. Our waitress was not friendly. My boyfriend and I both had an appetizer and a burger. He had garlic bread and a burger. I had the loaded steak chips or something like that and a burger. The garlic bread was ok. The loaded "steak" chips were covered in tons of romaine lettuce, some ground beef (which was cold), some cheese, lots of onions and the chips which were the only good part of this appetizer.
