Some of my friends mentioned that when I'm in Lima, I needed to stop by this local pizza chain. Obviously I didn't listen, but instead decided to go to Texas Roadhouse which I believe is one of the best run chain fast casual restaurants around. My colleague and I were immediately seated even though they appeared to be very busy on this snowy evening. I ordered the smothered chicken which was excellent. Their quality and speed are exceptional. I mentioned to my colleague that no matter what, we'll be out of there within 90 minutes. I think we were actually done in an hour. The Caesar salad which I had with my meal was enough as a meal as well. Located close to our hotel, on any other day we could have walked----but not during a snow storm. Plenty of parking. read more

Went service was great by our waiter snakebites, salad & sides were good. My steak was ordered well done and came out rare. I nicely asked them to cook it a little longer it came back out 20 minutes later after my husband was done eating over cooked and lukewarm. Our rolls had a hair in it which when asked to be replaced were. I've been to way better Texas roadhouses and the wait on food here is ridiculously long for it to not come out hot. read more

This was quite a visit! We ordered our drink drinks, appetizer, and meal. Our drinks came as did our meal, but no appetizer. At that point, we had them just take it off the bill. My well done, steak, actually "well well no pink" were my exact words came very pink inside. I very nicely asked for it to be cooked a little bit better and the girl told me a manager would have to bring it out as everything returned had to be brought out by a manager. The manager asked me to cut into it, and it was still just as pink on the inside, she was very surprised and disappointed as well, and stated she was taking it back and standing beside them while it was cooked. She did bring it out and finally, apparently a third time is the charm, it was cooked, but by then my husband was totally done eating and we were ready to go. If there's one thing Texas Roadhouse can hang their hat on, it's definitely consistency. Being 500 miles away from home, I knew that I could count on TR to provide one of the best steaks in town. I went with my classic-- Ft Worth ribeye smothered in sautéed mushrooms, side salad with ranch and loaded fries. I'm convinced that combination is unmatched. Service was delightful, as always. Extremely overdone steak to the point dry ate part of it and the rest will go to my dog. When I said something to the waitress she replied why didn't you say something. As I was leaving I politely told her I would have said something if you had of come back before you brought the bill. I have heard from others that the food had went downhill but went with others for a going away to college party for granddaughter won't be back anytime soon. Went for a Thursday evening dinner and was surprised to see how busy they were. We used the Join the Waitlist option before arriving and did not have to wait. Our server, Skyler was amazing! He was attentive and friendly! We watched Manager Lyndsey visit every table including ours to make sure each guest was having a good experience! Ribeye was delicious and cooked as requested!! I don't know if I'd have better luck dining in (if I ever want Texas Roadhouse again) or if takeout is always this bad. This is the third time I've ordered takeout due to getting a gift card from someone and I can say if I didn't have a gift card I think I would have passed on eating here ever again after the first time I ordered. The chicken critters I ordered were the tiniest pieces of chicken I've ever seen, the steak was super rare when it should have been medium, and the rolls have been awful each time. Tiny little bricks of disappointment. The staff working in the takeout area were super friendly though and the place seems pretty clean. Order was done on time so that's also a plus. read more

Our server was good and although they were busy they got us seated rather quickly as I used the virtual waitlist. My issue was not with anything but the actual facility. We had been seated for several minutes and my wife noticed small sugar ants in the corner of the table. We told our server who sent over someone to clean up and get rid of the ants as best they could. Which really didn't work. We never saw a manager come over to check on us or see what the issue was. At minimum I would have expected to see a manager. My wife wanted to eat quickly and leave as I didn't disagree. I would have hoped a manager would have stopped over and at least comped her meal. Bit of a mixed bag here in regards to this review. My family came to Texas Roadhouse one night after watching the symphony. We were famished and really wanted some good food. There was no wait to be seated and we were quickly escorted to our seat. The waiter was friendly throughout the night and first got our drink orders, which were just soda, as well as our appetizer orders. We ordered some wings to start, and of course we got that delicious bread that Texas Road House is known for. The bread was amazing as always, I just love the butter they use! The wings were lackluster and flavorless, its really just drenched in hot sauce. We ordered our main courses which were: For my brother a burger and fries For me some chicken tenders and fries with honey mustard For my mom some chicken fried steak We also got some cups of chilli as a side as well. The chili was delicious. It was an incredibly cold night, and it hit the spot and warmed us. It was the highlight of the meal. I also did enjoy my chicken. My brother was ambivalent about his burger, felt it needed more flavor. My mom hated the chicken fried steak, it did not taste right at all. She later was sick that night from eating, so the night did not end well at all. As much as I loved the chili and the bread, not sure I will come back. read more

Food: In terms of food, it all tasted pretty great! Not the best Texas Roadhouse I've ever had, but certainly nowhere near the worst. However, I have a few notes. My family ordered the loaded fries appetizer and instead of giving us one of those huge plates they usually serve them on, they gave it to us on the normal sized plates so we got a lot less than we should have and it barely fed three people. We had a party of six. Another thing, whenever I go to Texas Roadhouse, I get the same thing. Herb crusted chicken. (Which is always amazing, I definitely recommend trying at LEAST once.) The herb crusted chicken is served with half a caramelized lemon. I usually squeeze the juice onto my chicken and then run the caramelized size across to spread the juice and to give the chicken more flavor. When I touched the top of the lemon, I immediately noticed that it was freezing cold. Not to mention, I had a hard time getting the juice to come out. I'm almost positive they pulled a lemon out of a freezer, caramelized it real quick, then put it on my plate. Besides that, everything tastes amazing! Service: Our waitress, Dakota, was really nice and made sure we got everything we needed, when we needed it. She never let us go a minute without a drink, always making sure to bring us a new one the moment we drank our old one. Not to mention, our food was brought out really quickly considering there were six of us. Overall, the service and our waiter were really good. Atmosphere: As with most Texas Roadhouses, the atmosphere was welcoming and enjoyable. That's where I'll wrap up this review. All in all, I would definitely recommend coming here. You try it once, you'll never wanna go to another restaurant again, I guarantee it! (Edit: So, I just had diarrhea. Second time in 2 months visiting this establishment. Last night experience. You are required to go to the app. to be seated. A family arrived after we did, and we're refused at the desk and told can only be seated from the app. Why???. We used app...said get ur party together and arrived and checked in...it should mean they are ready. Stood for another 15 minutes. Taken to our booth, I wasn't even seated yet and waitress wanted out appetizer order and drinks. At least let me sit down for a second and review menu. Eventually returned took appetizer order blooming onion and our order. Minutes later salad arrived...no appetizer. Meal arrived fillet tips. Heavy salt on meat. Does anyone taste before service. No asking for refill of drinks even with low or empty cups. But as soon as someone was finished eating we had to grab plates like shortage in back. I brought my teen son here tonight for his birthday and it just wasn't a positive experience. We were feeling so happy when we walked in and left there feeling the complete opposite. The waitress didn't bring us drink refills, the rolls were like bricks, and when I asked her if she could please bring more rolls she told me she'd need to charge me for them in not the nicest tone at all. Maybe she was having a bad day so I just didn't say anything at all but was for sure regretting not cooking at home. I won't be visiting Texas Roadhouse again. That was my 2nd negative experience there. I'm just not interested in making those types of memories with my family and the food was not even that good. read more

This place is always packed full and I know this is good for business, but I don't like waiting, and then herded in like cattle with The rest of the crowd. Service is slow and it because of the overcrowded seats. The food isn't terrible, but I can do better somewhere else it at home. I think that it's so sad that this place has the rating it does. Lima is a good food desert. Most of the options are overpriced cheap cuts of meats laden with MSG. The entrees and sides are ebissmal and just plopped on a plate. Service is high pressure, uninformed, and rude. I am a customer. I don't want to be called sweetie by a 19 year old thinking this will better tips. The tables are a mess. Looks like most of the time, what was on them before was wiped under them after. When im in Lima and i want a great steak dinner, TR is where i come. Each and every time i visit this place i am never let down. This place gets real busy for a few good reasons. They r really consistent, great food and service. Once i am seated they take our order, bring the food pretty damn fast and leave me alone for a while. Ok well let's start with the service. The server Jaylynn aka: "Sheila" was super nice. She did a great job! Cleanliness of our table area wasn't good. I kept stepping on a chicken nugget under the table and something else that I nvr could identify! I'll start my with the quality of the ice tea. Best place I've been to in Lima, Ohio. In a little over a year we've been there at least 5 times. The filet mignons, called Medallions, are so amazing! The dinners we've had here have been awesome! So, I say, Come on Down! :) We will continue to go here because, not only is the food perfection, the friendliness exhibited by the employees is a refreshing change in a world that seems to be filled with anger or apathy that , many times, people may forget to express a kind word. My boyfriend and I went here yesterday for a little date, and it was PACKED. It did not seem like they were following COVID regulations at all. People were allowed in line without wearing masks. Our server was great. The rolls were nice and doughy, and the drinks came fast. I ordered an 8oz sirloin cooked medium with a side of chili and mashed potatoes. My boyfriend ordered a BBQ chicken and rib combo with a side of chili and a loaded sweet potato. My steak came so well done that it was the dryest thing I've ever eaten. I couldn't even take two bites of it. I felt really bad and didn't want to give the waitress a hard time, so I just told her it was fine. I was extremely anxious the entire time here because our table was so close to other parties. Every other restaurant I've been to since COVID has closed some tables in order to comply with social distancing, but this was ridiculous. I will never be back. read more

This was our go to steak house every Friday or sometimes Saturday too. (During 2004 - 2007, when we lived in Lima, OH) 1) We never had to wait for more than 15 minutes during any of our visits as a table of 2 was the easiest to get seated. 2) I always used to get their 20 Oz T-bone steak and devour it within minutes. 3) Their complimentary Bread rolls with Cinnamon butter was very delicious. 4) Complimentary peanut buckets were an awesome experience. *I have a soft corner for peanuts as most of our South Indian dishes have a peanut coconut chutney side serving* Whenever we had visitors from out of town, this was the place we used to take them to dine.They loved the peanut shell mess on the floor. read more

My husband and I eat here at least once a week. We have never had a bad experience at Texas Roadhouse. The steaks are always tender and cooked perfectly. The sides are always exactly how we order them. The staff is friendly and prompt. There's just nothing bad to say about this place.
