The movers showed up on time, prepared with tools, boxes, drop cloths, moving blankets, and walkways (especially important considering there was snow on the ground!). They took extra care of our family furniture and did an awesome job. The guys were personable, polite, knowledgeable, and even helped with decorating tips. The crew proved that slow is smooth, and smooth is fast. We couldn't believe how quickly the move went from just starting to complete (note we only had large furniture and a few heavy boxes to move, no pack out required). Do not use this company!! We just used them for a move and they damaged our refinished hardwood floor stairs and chipped a piece of furniture. We were on site during the move and the guys told us to call the main office to report it. We weren't asking for a refund but wanted to provide our feedback on our experience. The owner proceeded to call me a liar and told us his guys had 27 years of experience and wouldn't do that. They are careless and do not take any responsibility for their actions. Unlike the other movers, who sent the owner to my house to look at the rooms of furniture, this company simply asked a few questions and just provided me with a rate per hour, FSC, rates starting from the time the truck leaves their facility (other movers said the clock starts when they arrive). The best movers in NJ. Recently, we used Bob Plaza Movers to move out items from our storage units on three separate occasions into our new home. The first time, was moving out of our sub-zero fridge into the new house (only this company knew how to carefully move this large fridge), then the next two times were furniture and other personal items. It's a scary thing hiring a moving company, and over the years we had some good movers and some really bad movers. The reason I am writing this review is I know the true heartache of having movers who do not give a crap about protecting your valuable possessions, your new home, or your schedule. Bob Plaza Movers (BPM) could not of possibly done a better job then they did for us we moved our possessions from two different locations (Rocky Mount, NC & Toms River, NJ) to our new home in Galloway Township, NJ that gave them two opportunities to mess up, but instead they did a magnificent job on both moves they were professional and they cared about our moving going well. We used Bob Plaza movers last October to move from our bungalow to a storage facility and the guys were great. They were careful and get hustled to get it done. This time we moved from storage to our new beach house. Different crew and not nearly as good. They were slow and complaining throughout the entire time. What should have taken 3 hour took them 4. Although we requested the first crew we didn't get them. Cost way more than what was quoted. Can't recommend them as a result of this experience. read more

I HIGHLY recommend Bob Plaza movers. I was moving from Brick NJ to Somerset County NJ and it was happening very quickly. They were able t accommodate with less than a week's notice. They had two men come who arrived at my home around 7:45 and had packed up the truck by 8:10. So fast and so careful! Bob's Movers were excellent helping my mom move from what seemed to be an impossible situation. The crew leaders name was Mike and him and his guys arrived at my moms house early. When they realized that one truck was not going to be enough, Mike tracked down another crew doing a smaller job and had them come to the house when they were done to save us some time and more importantly MONEY! These guys were extremely friendly, fast, offered advice and were accepting of my mother changing her mind on where she wanted things. We recently had a horrendous experience with a moving company that moved us from our home of 34 years. We had to move out of storage just 5 weeks later. We used Bob Plaza and it was a great experience. The crew was professional, efficient and fast. Nothing was damaged. Moving companies can be such a ripoff. Our neighbor also just moved in and she recently lost her husband. Her company , not Plaza, had destroyed artwork and hid it from her until after she paid. She discovered it and was in tears because it was her husbands favorite painting. Heart breaking. Realistically, it really depends on the crew that they send you. Bob Plaza was a great experience. Moving this time around was so easy with Bob Plaza Movers. It's pretty straight forward; you call them, tell them when you need to move, they send some guys to your house on your scheduled day and they move your stuff. That's it! The group of guys they sent to my house were very nice and they moved really fast. What they said would be an 8 hour job over the phone only took them 5 hours to do. They had us moved out of our 3 bedroom condo and into our new house before lunch time. I'm extremely disappointed with this moving service. Not only was one of the movers named Tom disrespectful and unprofessional but he was unable to put back together any of my furniture properly. He had put together half of one bed and when I went to see it, all the pieces were in wrong and I had to undo his work and put everything back together again. The other bed he did not screw anything in and said it was done. I called over a handyman today and he's been working all day to redo everything that was put together. My handyman said he couldn't believe that someone would put furniture together like that. Obviously he had no clue what he was doing. He went as far as to curse me out when I expressed my concern that one of the beds was taking him 40 min to put together and he wasn't even close to finishing. His response was they it took him 40 min to take it apart too. My mom and I put it back together in 30 min with undoing completely all his half assed work and we spent 15 of those 30 minutes undoing the damage he did. He was rude, argumentative and was moving at a glacial pace. The other two movers were ok but you really need three strong movers to move an entire house. The move took them 12 hours and cost 2 grand, which would have been fine if they had been able to put everything back properly but now I have a handyman here and it's going to cost me who knows how much to undo everything. Not to mention that some of the stuff is now broken and I have to get new parts. I'm upset and I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

I recently moved and against our real estate agents recommendation, went with Bob Plaza Movers based on a recommendation, Bob Plaza Movers is a family owned and operated moving company that has been serving the shore for over 60 years. We had someone come to the house and give us a quote (April). We walked through the house noting everything that would go and then discussed a few options and price ranges. We were not sure at the time if we would be moving our house into storage or have it sit on a trailer so we had price ranges given to us for both (this included a minimum and a maximum price). A few weeks later when we were sure we wouldn't need storage we call and let the movers know we would need overnight trailer storage. Our price range was $1912 - $2390 for 8-10 hours for our 4 bedroom house which did not include any packing or moving the electronics. Over the next few weeks we changed times a few times and they were very accommodating. Moving day came and the movers showed up early (at our request to ensure we got out by the walkthrough) and some of the movers were very fast while others were not. We were told 3 movers were coming both days but both days 4 movers showed up. It took them 50 min to get from Brick to Howell and 4hr 40min to get everything packed. I made sure all the boxes were ready to go on the first floor and that all the yard items were sitting by the sidewalk to make sure we got loaded quickly. The following morning it took them 1hr 25 min to get to Freehold and then 6 hours to unpack. Again, some of the movers worked quickly and others did not (although we fed and tipped them regardless). And again I helped carry boxes and put the tables together to help them get done faster. And then it happened, we got our bill for 12.5 hours (even with the extra movers) totaling $3182. $792 (25%) more than the highest end of the quote. We were upset and called to talk to one of the owners. For a local small business, he was extremely unprofessional, condescending, and unwilling to accept any of the blame. I felt as if they purposely low-balled us on the estimate so we would use them all the while knowing it would cost a significant amount more. I tried to be rational and present the facts and he kept interrupting me blaming everything on us saying things like we added more items. In actuality we made 3 trips (with 2 vans) to the new house the day before the movers arrived to help the movers out. I also said that I wasn't even sure I had that much in my checking account to which he replied "Well it isn't my fault you don't have any money". I tried to explain to him that it wasn't even about the money, I was more frustrated that the quote was so far off and even made a recommendation that the estimators tell their clients there can be some price variances to which he said usually they do say it could be about 10% off. For a company that has been doing this for 60 years, being 25% off is unacceptable with all the help that we provided. So for anyone thinking of using Bob Plaza Movers, beware because you will most likely be paying quite a bit more than the estimate states and when you call to complain, more than likely you will be told it is your fault. read more
