Ok, we have our move scheduled in two weeks, so although I don't usually review services before they happen... BUT.... So far... really great! After several horrendous experiences with College Hunks which was just a group of jerks and clowns.... (Yes, reviewed) and Bohrens(who were my "go-to's" and very professional under now retired Scott Cox who was right on top of every aspect) ...someone stepped forward and said go with Varsity...and I am very happy with the first chapter!! Rob got right back to me, scheduled an in-person estimate and arrived early...dressed professionally even though we had to do part of this in 90 degrees. Rob made sure I understood how things would go; best of all, gave me tips on preparing for my move and caring for things in storage in this heat and explained the estimate in detail... Rob is very warm in his manner and if people are going through my life and things ...as movers must do, it helps to feel that your move is important and the person in charge isn't just handing you a "take it or leave it" estimate... if you have moved before, you know this is special. Called for an estimate for a small job (daybed/trundle with 2 mattresses) to be moved from Manchester NJ to Freehold NJ. The woman who I spoke to said I would get a call and email with estimate within 24 hours. It's been 5 days with nothing. I'm assuming there will be no estimate at this point. If it's something they don't do, then a phone call would have been nice. This is a reflection on their reliability. read more

Arrived on time minus 1 crew member but they did get the job done a little over the 3 hours and reasonably priced over the estimated 3 hours given. The crew wrapped and covered every piece of furniture and delivered in one piece with no damages. Would recommend this company with confidence and use again if needed. read more

On June 14, 2921we used Varsity Movers. We had a fairly large move, 2 trucks 30 minutes from the first location . The Gentleman that moved us were very helpful and did a great job until I began moving and opening boxes. I know things happen on the move and it's understandable but when I move a box and I found a broken tile from my custom fireplace that was hidden under a box is unacceptable. Plus they forgot my patio table which WE moved to the front of the house was left. I sent an email to the company someone did call me back the next day but I was at a restaurant having dinner & I asked them to call me back the next day, today is June 25 and I have not received a response back sad that I have to put this on yelp. read more

The owner Rob was a pleasure to work with!! Upon multiple calls due to last moment change of closing dates, he was able to provide us with services that worked best for us in a timely manner. We were provided 3 men that did the moving whom were very friendly and went above and beyond to help us move into the new home. Led by Chris, Varsity moved my fiance from Howell to Princeton on time, on budget and with painstaking care to ensure that nothing was damaged. Whether it was moving existing furniture between floors (and back again,) sending an old CRT television to the junk pile hereafter or setting things up exactly as we desired, this three man crew worked for five hours, listened and most importantly, left our home clean and blemish free. I hired this "moving" company based on reviews from alleged customers on their website. That was obviously a mistake on my part. I've only had to move once before in my lifetime and don't recall it being unpleasant at all. From the start I knew this was going to be a different experience. The two "movers" arrived nearly an hour later than the appointed time. No apology, no explanation. Secondly, I was told by the owner that there would be three "movers"...he must have flat-out lied to my face, because the two guys said "nope, just supposed to be us". My fault, because I should have gotten that in writing. It also was a simple move as well - a bachelor pad apt to another small apt. I didn't expect it to take very long. Wrong again. These guys moved so slowly and then took an extended lunch break, it took pretty much the whole day. Directing them the whole day was exhausting in and of itself... All-in-all, from the owner to the movers, completely unimpressed. I don't expect them to include the review I handed to them on their website, so hence my review on Yelp. If I can save someone else the aggravation, my job is done. read more

After numerous phone calls and email regarding my over payment for services rendered I am now forced to proceed with legal action. Per their request I paid their estimate in full on the day I moved via a cashiers check. The final invoice was hundreds of dollars less than the estimate. I asked how I would be issued a refund and I was told to contact the office which I have been doing since September (I moved in August). I actually laughed out loud the last time they told me that Rob would get back to me. I sent my last email over a week ago and attached all of the documentation since I had to put it together to proceed legally. It was one last attempt on my side, but still no response. Frustrating to say the least and to think I was going to give them a good write up based on the experience with the moving crew. read more

I would highly recommend using this company. Rob is truly a class act. We hired a scam moving company and after 5 hours of them pretending to move us by just placing all of our items in our front yard, I called Rob from Varsity. Rob showed up at our house, helped us expose the scam movers, and then for nothing helped us move all of our items back into our house/garage. Varsity was unable to move us but they found us legitimate movers who came the next day. Rob saved us from losing all of our belongings to these scam artists and he did it for nothing other than to be a nice person. You can definitely trust this company with your personal belongings. read more

We had two sets of two workers come unpack and move in our furniture from the PODS in our driveway. Each one of them were hard-working, respectful, careful, friendly, professional and pleasant. The temperature was around 100 degrees when they were unpacking, but they never slowed down. They also came on one day's notice! Their prices are great too. We had a less than satisfactory experience. A book case was broken and had to be thrown out. Items were left at the house because the truck wasn't big enough. They removed our dresser drawers and now they are broken. We were underquoted and they did not take all of our items into account. We had to pay for a van to move the rest of our stuff and we had to discard of furniture that we could not move. We reached out several times for their help with no response. Go with someone else! read more
