Shortly after picking up the vehicle, within a few days the engine warning light came on and the condition continued to worsen. I later took the vehicle to another BMW dealership for a full diagnosis, where they found serious internal engine issues, including problems consistent with improper oil filter installation and foreign material inside the engine. Based on the timing of the failure immediately after service, I have major concerns about how the vehicle was handled while in their care. This situation resulted in significant inconvenience and required me to go through an insurance claim to recover most of the damages. He gave us such great service on our previous leases and we trusted that he would look after us. Everyone was very friendly and helpful at Bob Smith. I do like their new 'One' program where you work with your sales person from start to finish. It is a much more pleasant and less pushy experience. Martik exceeded our expectations here and really showed that he wanted to help us get into our new cars with little stress. There is also a small cafe for you to purchase food so that you don't start getting hangry. In general, it did not feel like a stuffy dealership. Austin helped go through the set up for both vehicles and made the whole process so seamless. The tech aspects of the car can be glitchy but he answered all of our questions and was very patient. We will definitely work with Martik again. We have known him for three years now and he always responds to our text messages quickly. Now that this is a public statement, try to tell me downpipes have anything to do with fuel injectors lol tried to charge $1k per injector out of pocket lol went down the street and got it covered under warranty. This dude is a real piece of work always trying to charge for bs and till this day it haunts me !! Glad to see other people mentioning his scum tactics in other reviews. I am extremely disappointed that Bob Smith BMW failed to disclose that the used vehicle I purchased had a repainted front bumper. I purchased the car on January 23, 2026, and after just one rainstorm, the paint is already peeling. That is unacceptable and indicates poor prior repair work. Your dealership had the opportunity to disclose that the front bumper had been repainted, and you did not. That is a clear failure to disclose material information that would have affected my purchasing decision. If you stand behind your vehicles and value your customers, I expect you to repair and properly repaint the bumper at your expense. This is a straightforward solution to a problem that could have been avoided with simple transparency at the time of sale. I have already filed a complaint with the State of California outlining this issue. However, I am still giving your dealership the opportunity to resolve this matter directly and professionally. All that was required was disclosure. That did not happen. Now I expect the issue to be corrected. I will continue to pursue this matter until the bumper is properly repaired. The responsibility here is clear Sent to the State for review: I am filing a formal complaint against Bob Smith BMW regarding a vehicle purchase made on January 23, 2026. On that date, I purchased a 2022 Subaru from the dealership. At no point during the sales process was I informed that the front bumper and passenger door had previously been repainted or refurbished. Within one month of purchase, the paint on the front bumper began peeling, revealing what appears to be prior repair work. Had I been informed that these panels had been repainted, I would have reconsidered purchasing the vehicle or negotiated differently. The failure to disclose prior bodywork deprived me of the opportunity to make an informed decision as a consumer. I have contacted the dealership and requested that they correct the issue. As of this filing, I have received no response. Selling a vehicle with undisclosed prior repainting or body repairs is misleading and unacceptable. Given that the defect surfaced within one month of purchase, I believe the dealership bears responsibility for correcting it. I am requesting that the appropriate state agency investigate this matter and require the dealership to either: Properly repaint and repair the front bumper at no cost to me. We haven't purchased a vehicle yet, but our experience test driving the X3 with Andy was so good we had to leave a positive review (which we almost never do). We walked in on a Saturday afternoon and Andy immediately took great care of us asking all the right questions, being kind and patient, and really listening and understanding what was important to us. On the test drive he continued to make us feel comfortable and let us digest what it would be like to drive the car every day, which in our experience is something most salespeople struggle with. Andy clearly has a ton of experience selling cars and it shows in how he handled our first interaction with him. Our time with him was a stark contrast to our other test drives of the day. Visiting this dealership for service is right up there with going to the dentist in terms of how unpleasant it is as an experience. Let's start with being assigned a service advisor (aka upseller). My "service advisor", Ray doesn't appear to be compassionate or kind or even slightly happy imho. But I don't seem to have a say in who I deal with. Quoted $275 for a diagnosis is painful but understandable - even if that quote is higher than most. But then being told that my car will be kept for 4 days (which, in my previous experience, often turns into 6 or 7 days here), with no loaner cars available is unacceptable. Here's a thought: get more loaner cars? I'm just spitballing. But my experience is this: I won't walk out of there without spending two grand. Somehow, this dealership manages to empty my wallet, no matter what is wrong with my car. I could go in there and tell them that the USB port isn't working and they would say it's $2000. So yeah.... pretty untrustworthy and overall sucky. Update: the response from "Customer service" is a bot. It literally was posted one second after I posted my review. I want to begin this review by stating that I've leased and purchased multiple vehicles from this dealership over the years and everyone I've worked with has been fantastic. This review was not due to a specific individual. This review is due to Bob Smith BMWs use of CARFAX as their source of truth. In 2017 I purchased a CPO 2014 BMW from this dealership. At the time of purchase a CARFAX was provided by the dealership (see attached photos) showing the car had not been in any accidents in the last three years and had a clean title. Wonderful, lets move forward with the sale, all was well. Fast forward to my recent trade in of the CPO 2014 BMW and purchase of a CPO 2022 BMW. During the inspection of my old vehicle they suddenly found issues with the paint. Why was this not discovered during their CPO process? They then provided an updated CARFAX showing the car was indeed in an accident before my purchase in 2017. Now, before the dealership responds and says its out of their hands due to the CARFAX not being updated, they refused to adjust the price of the trade in or drop the price of the new purchase to compensate. They basically told me to eat a dick, just not in those words. This dealership not only overcharged me for my previous vehicle, they also devalued my trade in. They essentially stole thousands of dollars from me. Moral of the story here is do NOT buy CPOs from this dealership. They're not certified (eg, paint detection detailed above), and their use of CARFAX as a source of truth is equivalent to dogshit. read more

I leased a 2026 i5 BMW from Bob Smith dealership on April 1st. The salesperson tried to give the LEAST INFO POSSIBLE and after I leased my car he would not return my phone calls. Having an all electric car needs a whole new approach to driving the car and I got none from him. A week later I scheduled a meeting with their Genius (tech assistance) and less than 20 min into our meeting he kept looking at his watch and saying that he has to help other customers even when I was not done. After 2-3 days they came back with the claim that the wire under the car was chewed by an animal?! I live in the city and have parked my different cars in the same place for over 20 years. I had no choice and they charged $1550 to fix it. I kept a loaner in the same place with no issue until they finished my car after a week. I took the car home and after 2 days, it had the same issue. I had to tow the car back. After 2 days they came back and said animal chewed the wires again?!? Total BS because they didn't want to admit their poor repair and initial diagnostic of the problem. They charged another $1250!? I was very upset. I don't live in the zoo or a farm. I bought cars from them before and used services but this last time they showed their true face! DON'T GO. I booked my one year service/oil change 6 weeks ahead. When I checked in with the service writer at 8:07 am (time booked was 8:30 am) and asked to pick up my car at 3:30 pm, Juan Mora the service advisor said they could not guarantee I would get my car back the same day. This was just an oil change! He suggested I try Rusnak BMW in Thousand Oaks as their service department was not as busy. I was about to leave with my car when another person came over and said they could get it ready for same day pick up. I told the advisor that the wiper blades were not and have not been working properly for a car only 10 months old with 3000 miles and he suggested replacing them but they were not covered under new car warranty. The same service advisor Juan Mora said that as I did not buy my car from this dealership I should not expect the same level of service as a customer who purchased it from them. Perhaps if they had a good salesperson and willing to dealer trade I would have purchased my car there! Adding insult to injury, they charge an additional 3% fee for the convenience of paying with a credit card, they do not accept checks, Venmo or Zelle and when I had to search my purse to come up with the cash I was given a dirty look. I am pretty sure they accept checks as down payments when people purchase new cars. Needless to say I will not return to this dealership for service or recommend for new sales. He was very short with me on the phone and replied that it would be about five to $600 for the key and another five to $600 to program the key equaling between $1000-$1200.. 1. The repair agent I work with is amazing. And that's the only reason why I got the tires as advised done here. 2. The lounge area is nice and spacious. 3. The Coffee vendor inside the space is really good. Try the mocha if you get a chance. 4. The wifi is reasonably fast. So I was able to work remotely while waiting for my car. Only downside is, they charge 3% credit card charge. It's hard to carry $2000 in your pocket not knowing you needed it that day for the repair. So of course, I ended up paying with a credit card + the 3% credit card charge. If they continue to do that, I would just get the oil change and get the repairs done somewhere else. read more

When I approached the door, someone stood in front of the door holding the handle asking why I was there, I answered with "bringing in vehicle for service " he looks at me from head to toe and proceeds with saying "you need an appointment for service" which I reply with "I am aware, vehicle is already in service, getting a loaner" this was when he removed himself from the door, didn't even open the door for me to go in.
