Do you have to be in some type of exclusive owners club to get them to answer the damn service phones? That seems to be the biggest complaint on here yet they do nothing to change it. I too was one of those people who waited 20 mins for an advisor just to have a non advisor answer the phone and send me to an advisors voicemail. Shit I could have done that at the beginning of the phone call. My Mini had a service notification so on the app it took me to Bob Smith scheduling. Ok let me give them one more try. I saw the name of a service advisor and was sent a text asking "how can I help you schedule service". That was on Sept 22nd today is the 28th and not one reply back since. I ended up at South Bay BMW/MINI last week which wasn't a great experience but it was way better than old "no phone answering" ass Bob Smith. What is it with dual branded (BMW/MINI) dealerships that seem to make MINI owners feel like the bastard-child, burdensome brand? Jannie, my service rep, keeps me informed by sending texts on the progress, she insures I have a ride home (rental or loaner), Bob Smith staff are courteous, have a waiting area with a coffee bar, and always make sure you are taken care of. When I pickup the car, it's been washed and is promptly delivered to me with nearly no waiting. It's been awhile since I've met smiling staff with a true focus on customer service. I want to thank Jasmynn Service Advisor for Bob Smith Mini. My Mini got the B46M Environmental Air Catalyst Sensor engine service light error which is covered my Mini warranty. My mini was due for its first smog test needed for annual registration. Unfortunately, the required part was not available with no date when it would be available (stuck in BMW Germany factory with no date), and due date rapidly approaching for registration, in fact I paid the registration without the smog but that was ending soon also. I did contact other Mini dealers, and they did not have the part either. But I contacted an independent repair shop the owner was able to track down a new authorized Mini part. I contacted Jasmynn and she said she would check into it. I know there's a lot of hoops she had to go through to get the authorization and the actually get the part, but she did it and I was able to get my Mini repaired. I am very grateful to Jasmynn for going through all of that to help me. read more

I bought my 2019 John Cooper Works back in 2018 from them and I have been going back to have it surviceda there ever since. I have never had a better service experience with the experts at Bob Smith (and new car sales). I get videos of the repair process, courtesy loaner vehicles when needed. My husband has a Jeep and the experience he goes through is night and day compared to my experience with the Bob Smith Service Department. Especially the service advisors. Most service advisors are just a voicemail. You never hear from them, they never respond to literally avoid you at all costs. That's not the case with Bob Smith Mini. In owning a car for 34 years at countless dealerships, I chose to drive from Mid City LA to service my Car at Bob Smith always-25 miles each way. You know why? The level of customer service and especially the service advisor. My current service advisor is Mathew Bull. He has been the best I have ever had anywhere. I was bummed when my last advisor was no longer there but then along came Matthew Bull. He is amazing. He is like a Service Advisor Concierge. He texts updates. Provides consistent communication and goes above and beyond. I got my mini here 6 years ago and the quality of service has nosedived since the mini dealer has disappeared. I came in to get a service, and let me tell you, they do not care about their customers anymore. All they care about is to nickel and dime them for everything. I "needed" to get two new front tires and they wanted to charros almost $600. This in part to not then honoring thee warranty. I have to wait till after my warranty ends to get my service... convenient. I used to come in whenever there was any issue and they would take care of me. In addition, they would not even be nice about sympathetic or care. I just kept getting bombarded by their tactics and how much costs were compared to other places. They gave me a price different from what they even said it was. They are full of liars. I can get tire alignment for $90 at Hanks compared to $330. Do not treat customers this way. I wIll not be back. *update* The service manager did make it right for the service but they still didn't make sure the car was current. Barely a month later I needed to get a thermostat check/fix which would have been covered under warranty now it's not. read more

Our original salesman was so nice and wonderful. We purchased two new mini's here at Bob Smith. We have 740 miles on one of them and a constant annoyance is telling (insisting) every time we start our engine to immediately take our mini in for oil service. I was told when I purchased both mini's 'Any questions just call us here in sales we are here to answer any/ all questions'. Well I called today and got Eric in sales, who had zero interest in following through on that promise. He transferred me twice to voicemails. On calling back a third time he kept avoiding my call and putting me in a phone hold until I gave up trying to get help. Just know once you are out the door after sales help doesn't appear to be there. I gave two stars instead of one since we had such a nice experience with our original guy, but Eric apparently only wants sales. read more

NOBODY IN SERVICE ANSWERS PHONES. Try to get an appointment with Bob Smith Mini, you CANNOT. I have been calling for weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks. The service advisor I trust is on vacation, so I wait two more weeks until they are back. I go to the website to receive a call back, nothing, then ask for a text, they say, a text has been sent, no text. I call and call and call. They ask if I want to speak to the manager, I say YES, the voicemail says, he is out of office. Did they not know he was out? Ed (no clue who that is) finally answered the phone and immediately HUNG UP ON ME. Called back and have been listening to music for 30 minutes with no answer. I work full time and my job is NOT MAKING SERVICE APPOINTMENTS. This dealer doesn't want your business and does not care. I am going somewhere else and suggest you do the same. This review is for the service department. Double negative stars if possible. I purchased my Mini in February 2017.  I went for my initial maintenance service as the light for the service engine went on.  After few months on not seeing the service engine light, I took my car for the second service.  Nicole, Nichols the service advisor checked records on the computer, stated that I my car had been overdue.  I said I am not aware because I did not see the light go on.  She said there are "other ways" to see that the car is due for service.  She showed where to see it - apparently, when you turn your engine on a very (very, very) brief image of negative miles and a date of when to go for service.  Nicole herself noticed that the date on the brief notification is May 2017, meaning the very first maintenance service done was not even recorded.  Nicole said a reset was probably not done on the first service.  She suggested an oil filter clean up of some sort (worth nearly $300) due to the fact that I had been overdue but I have to pay because it is outside warranty.  Worried for my vehicle, I agreed. When I asked the same day what time I could pick up my car, I was told that it had to stay at the shop due to the fact that the service light is malfunctioning and the tech is not able to fix it until the next day.  With this information, it dawned on me that there clearly was a reason why the light did not go on which unfortunately had me lose track leading to an over due oil change.  I asked for the almost $300 procedure suggested to be waived since it seems that there had been an error on their part in resetting necessary buttons for the service light. Nicole "explained" that it cannot be waived due to the fact that I was overdue.  She talked over me most of the times and had insisted that it was my responsibility to bring the car for service.  I asked for her to take it to management for consideration. The next day, Nicole called, informing me that the car is ready and that she spoke with the service manager Tony Hawkins that they can only do 20% discount from the amount of the oil filter clean up.  They are capitalizing on the fact that I was overdue for the service but clearly, they did not acknowledge that there was an error on their part from the first service done. With Nicole's reasoning, Mini should have it in bold letters in their user manual to stare at the dashboard and read the notification that just appears in a nanosecond, to know if your car is due for service since it doesn't seem that the light is expected.  Funny how such basic car feature that did not show appeared nothing to them.  It's not like I was expecting my car to perform extraordinary things.  I was just expecting the service light engine on to go off when it's due, and it did not since they FAILED to reset it from the first service. So there, I paid them for their recommended service that could have been avoided if only they did not make an error from the initial service. My concerns didn't matter to them.  After all, I am just one unhappy customer.  They know they wouldn't lose business just because they had upset a customer like me. read more
