OVERVIEW: I came here for a trade-in of my Chrysler 300 and a purchase of a Hyundai Palisade. Overall, it was a good experience. ***** 5/5 STARS for Josue ***** My sales person, Josue, was exceptional. He helped make the process better than the prior 3 dealership experiences I've had in Texas and Indiana. Josue drove me in a dealership car to the bank where I procured a cashier's check for my purchase. He waited in the car for about 10-15 minutes while I talked with a loan representative and then a teller, and was patient and upbeat and helpful the whole time. After I had made it back home, I realized I had left some stuff in the glove box of my trade-in vehicle, and I texted him and he removed the items to keep at his desk until I picked up my registration paperwork. For reference, see the John Eagle Honda experience I had in a previous review. This was worlds better than that, but I do have some details to share about the process. In my experience, car dealers tend to be on a spectrum of "honest" on one end to "dubious" on the other. These folks were very high up on the honest end of the spectrum. I'm pretty meticulous about looking at my charges, and in this case, I paid about $1,218.96 more than I wanted to. The MSRP was $44,320, so this is roughly 2.7%, and it's a margin of "fudge" that I'm okay with. (1) FINANCING -- clear, not pushy, but I had to pay in cash. I came in with a $20,000 pre-approved loan from Bank of America, and planned to pay the rest in cash. They wanted a cashier's check from Bank of America rather than the "bank draft" option, which uses a program called "Dealertrack". As you can see from the attached image, the instructions are clear, so the best explanation why they didn't play ball is that they don't have to, because they know that either (a) the buyer will give up and use internal financing through Hyundai, (b) the buyer will walk away and another buyer will step up and play ball, or (c) the buyer will just pay cash and move on--that's what I did, I paid $38,495 in cash (thanks CARES Act). For what it's worth, I was told that cashier's checks are the way they do business, and that lenders like "Navy Fed" do this regularly and convert the amount to an auto loan for the consumer. Fair, but not all buyers have cash or a lender that can write a cashier's check, so you might need to default to internal financing. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, just worth knowing. (2) TRADE-IN VALUE -- A bit low, but I took a $969 loss on my trade-in target. I knew my trade-in value from KBB was between $9,292 & $11,565 with a "cash value" of $10,010 from a KBB affiliate buyer. I had set up an appointment with Texas Cars Direct in case the dealer lowballed me too much. - The dealer's initial offer was $8,170. I said I'd have to walk out if the offer didn't increase. - They increased the offer to $8,500. I pushed back, because I had several cash buyers waiting and used car values rose 10% nationwide from March-April 2021. (Look it up--it's wild. You have more leverage than you think, right now.) - The manager came to speak with me, and he was respectful and mentioned a host of reasons why they couldn't come up on the price, but never said that he didn't agree with the appraisal value I had given of $10K. He mentioned an auction fee of $1,000 which they'd pay (seems high), and low demand for Chrysler 300S (not reflected in the several calls I'd received already from cash buyers). He noted that Texas law allows you to deduct the taxes from a trade-in AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE (and he's right, CA and other states don't allow this). Ultimately, I took the $8,500. With the tax credit of 6.25% on the $8500, it's roughly $969 less than I was expecting and not worth it to me to leave the dealership, drive to another place, make a cash sale, come back with cash, factor in the depreciated cost of the cash sale for a future tax season, and then hope the car was still on the lot to purchase. I could have made a cash sale first and then come with $10,000 -- deducting the depreciated value of the sale on my taxes (but who wants the hassle?) $969 was a worthwhile "hit" in my mind. (3) NO BAIT & SWITCH -- The sale price was the MSRP. (4) MINIMAL UP-CHARGES -- $250.21 total for documents and "vehicle inventory tax" (a) A "vehicle inventory tax" of 0.02% is levied on the dealer by Texas law, and the dealer will sometimes pass this onto the consumer. For me, this amount was $100.21. (b) A "documentary fee" of $150.00. In the fine print, they are required to disclose that this is "not an official fee" and is "not required by law". Look, lots of dealers charge this, $150 is on the low end, so I'm feeling good that he didn't push me on an extended warranty or GAP coverage or other B.S., so I brought it up but let it slide. In sum, the +$1,218 I paid was low enough to move onto other things (like writing Yelp reviews & teaching my undergrad business students how to accept trade-offs). read more

TLDR= NOT HERE! I spent hours and HOURS here on Saturday and got into a loan I knew i couldn't afford. After a couple days I know I needed out of it. As a used car I have 3 days to change my mind, came back in 2 days and this time with my father. Took 2 and a half! hours to get out of it and they said my trade in has already left for auction. They did everything to get me to keep it, but my Bank said it was over valued by 4k and refused to fully cover the loan so I know I needed to walk away. In the next 2 days I saw my previous car was posted for 5k LESS. When I went another 2 days later to finally get my trade in they still tried to get me in the car BUT did not honor the price from the website!!! Took another 2 hours to get my trade in car and down payment refunded. I am so over them! And this isn't even to show that I doubtu car ever left the lot since mother was cleaned or stickers removed hmmmm.... Came here to pick up an oil filter for Hyundai Santa Fe. This review is only relevant for the service department. I was immediately greeted when entering the dealership. I asked her where I could find the parts departments, and she pointed me in the right direction. I got there, and was ready to get my oil filter. There was one lady in line in front of me. Soon it was my turn. I was little turned off by the girl at the parts window, she kept putting me on hold (the person standing right in front of her), so she could answer the phone. Pretty horrible tactic to make the people standing infront you wait so you can answer dozens of calls, and answer their questions, while I wait. Anyway finally she told me to wait on the side for the a guy that works in parts could come out and help me locate the right filter. When this gentlemen came out, he had fantastic customer service! Extremely well mannered, and helpful. After a short look on the computer, he found the right oil filter and I was on my way, except I had to deal with "Mrs. wait for the customer calling on the phone, they're more important." It took another 10 minutes just to pay for the oil filter. Service gets a 5/5; girl doing the phones & cashier get a 2/5. I reached back out and was in contact with a manager from Bob Stallings but he will no longer return my calls and make this right. It's clear that they only care about making a quick sell and not about good customer service. ***UPDATE: After posting this review, I was contacted by a Bob Stallings manager who gave me a couple of options and stayed in contact with me. We ended up working out a trade-in deal for the same model car, color, wheels, etc that had the features I originally asked for. I had to do a little bit of haggling when I went in but in the end the General Manager came through. I hope that leadership and good customer service trickles down to the rest of your employees. We brought my vehicle in for 1 service campaign and also had them look into the oil leak my car had. Come to find out that turbo oil feed hose for the oil was on a recall campaign as well, only we never (or have yet to) received a notification for it. No problem they said they would handle this as well. Good. My husband had previously removed the undercarriage splash guard to locate the issue. When we took the Hyundai in he told them the splash guard was in the trunk part and the bolts were in a pan in front seat. Even asked them if they would be so kind as to wash the engine and splash guard from the oil residue. I was excited to get my car back. They did the 2 things that has service notifications (aka recalls) and seem to have done a great job on these. They also diagnosed the issue with the cooling system and let us know what they diagnosed and the cost to fix it. They ddid let us know that my car would be needing brakes soon. We came to pick up the car and when I got in the car my eyes were drawn to the floorboard and lo and behold, there was the pan with the bolts for the undercarriage splash guard. Guess what, it wasn't put back on after we were assured it was. We came back in and brought that to their attention. My car was taken back to have the guard put back on and to have oil residue washed off. While waiting and looking over the paperwork it states exterior car wash complimentary! Hmmmm. Why is my car still dirty as it was when I brought it in?!! We did bring this to their attention. The manager made sure when we received the car back that it was indeed washed and everything had been done that was supposed to have been done. Although they do have a big tv in waiting area the volume is low you have to strain to hear it! Smh! Good thing they offer complimentary coffee although once I've had my morning coffee I'm done with it. From the time we arrived to pick up my car to the time we left it was over the course of an hour time lapse. The customer service lip service was great. I have NOT had any good experiences at Bob Stallings Hyundai other than the day I purchased my vehicle. My first car was a 2007 Hyundai Sonata - it was great, reliable and I loved it. This led me to purchase a new Hyundai this past March, but I do regret it as I have not had good service and feel you have dishonest people at your dealership. 1) My new car came with a little dent in the driver's door and I was told it would be fixed for free if I scheduled a time to bring it in. A week or so after purchase I dropped it off at my scheduled time and sat around while I had family visiting because I was made to believe it would only be a few hours. Come to find out after I sat around for over an hour because no service members were to be found...it needed to stay until Monday afternoon because the body shop is not open on weekends. I am fine with the shop being closed, but I was not told this prior to wasting time on my weekend with my family. 2) Two tires blew out while I was driving on the tollway to work 3 weeks ago. I understand this is not Hyundai's fault, nor do I believe it is mine since tiny nails were not cleaned off the highway. I used Hyundai roadside assistance and it took them 4 hours to get me a tow truck to the dealership. Once I got there, I was told I would get two new tires, but for a price. Of course a blow out that is out of my control is NOT included in the extra coverage I pay for which I am likely to cancel since it appears useless. 3) I was also told that the two new tires were the same brand that came on my car...come to find out they are NOT. 4) I also found out that the two new tires your dealership put on my car were up-charged compared to other tire shops. The tires should have only been about $85 each since they were not my original tire brand, yet I walked out of there paying over $400. 5) I came back to Bob Stallings on Tuesday, 7/24 because I was hearing a weird noise when I accelerated between 50-60 miles an hour. They tell me my front "Left front hub assembly" needs to be replaced because they assumed it was knocked off during the blow out that "I" supposed caused. Of course this is also NOT covered under my warranty and was quoted at $800 to get fixed. Instead of getting ripped off, I decided to get my tires rotated somewhere else and they told me I have 2 different tire brands (see #3). 6) I went to another Hyundai dealership today, 7/26 to get a second opinion about the $800 issue and they told me there was NOTHING wrong with my brand new car (I have only owned 4 months), that it is just tire noise. I am not sure who is completely incompetent at their job, but I can guarantee you this is my LAST Hyundai and I will NOT recommend your location or any others. read more

I had an appointment to get a new battery which I was told over the phone by an auto technician should be covered under the 3yr warranty. I specifically called prior to coming in to ENSURE that it would be covered. When I arrived for my appointment I asked the man helping me if it was covered to again make sure that it was. He said it should be covered after looking at a warranty sheet. My car has two months until it reaches 3 years mind you. After I waited an hour he comes and tell me that it is prorated and they will only cover $6 and I would have to pay the remaining $191 for the battery. So my only am I pissed the hell off that two people told me it would be covered by warranty, but I've just waited an hour after the man ran my battery to be tested only to tell me that I'm going to have to basically cover the entire amount. That is something that should be told FROM THE START like I asked! Now when I left and said I would purchase my battery from elsewhere, all he said was "Ok your car will be pulled out front." Basically after I mentioned taking it elsewhere they were done with me. Not "thank you" no nothing. The attitude was almost as if I didn't want to be dealt with anymore. We went to Bob Stallings Hyundai the night following a terrible experience at Vandergriff Hyundai in Arlington when they had tried to add a $3000 dollar "dealer adjustment" for a Hyundai Palisade simply because it is "in demand and in short supply". (See me review of Vandergriff Hyundai for the full details there). We arrived at Bob Stallings and were met by Mike Kurutz whom I highly recommend to be your salesperson. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. After the usual "basic information" was filled out in their modern, sparkling building we went out to see the Palisade. Mike spent at least 30 minutes with us inside the vehicle going over all the features of the Palisade (and there are a ton of them). He answered all our questions and there was never any of the pushiness to hurry up and buy or the corny one liners many of the salespeople use. After we went back inside I told Mike the deal was a go even at full MSRP which the Palisade was worth it. When they worked out the deal there was none of the nonsense of the night before. This was straightforward transparent pricing (basically just price at MSRP and TT&L). No games, no pressure and lots of courtesy and professionalism. Then we met Miguel the finance manager who put all the paperwork together. This was my only regret of the whole deal. I was offered an extended warranty from Hyundai that would extend my coverage for nine years and I am never the type that gets an extended warranty. Hyundai has the best basic warranty with 5 years and 60k miles and 10 year 100k on the powertrain. Who needs more than? Who keeps a vehicle nine years anymore (basic plus extended warranty). After Miguel lowered the price twice and my friend who was with me talked me into it I said yes and since came to regret that. This is not a bad reflection on Miguel he didn't pressure me or at any time influenced my decision. Just kept lowering the price....lol! I love my new Palisade and highly recommend both the Palisade if you are looking for a loaded family SUV at a great price for what you get and get it at Bob Stallings where you will not be charged a penny above MSRP unlike some of the other Hyundai dealers will. read more

No mark ups on the window sticker price, which is unheard of these days, BUT BEWARE of the finance department- I asked for a certain APR, they agreed, and now reading over my paperwork says otherwise... They did not do what we verbally agreed upon. Things change over the course of the conversation, yes, but ultimately, all should've been reviewed at the end. I should be able to take someone's word for it if there is a supposed "transparent buying process," and not constantly have to recheck every little number. read more

Let me first start this review with stating that I NEVER write reviews, so for me to take the time to share my opinion on here or anywhere else requires it to make a tremendous impact on me, whether positive or negative. Me and my wife were shopping for a vehicle in support of our business. We had a complete game plan and Bob Stallings Hyundai was going to be our first stop, based on some of the positive reviews I had read on here. The overall experience was extremely positive with no high pressure, starting from the beginning call in response to my email request. I had the opportunity to work with Tim the Sales Manager and Josh walked us through the entire process in a very timely and professional manner. Even the time we spent with the finance manager was a very positive experience. I state all of this for each of you looking for a new vehicle, because ALL of my previous experiences in purchasing vehicles were never positive experiences. We will love our new 2018 Hyundai Elantra Turbo and remember the enjoyment of purchasing this vehicle moving forward. The car buying experience was easy and painless back in 2016. The service was normally quick and reliable but this last June 2021 these people kept my vehicle for a month if not more. I understand it took them a week able to replicate the issue but it then took several more weeks to actually resolve. What they first thought was the issue turned out not to be the issue and when they found out what it was, the car warranty has just run out. I was told they were trying to get Hyundai to pay for it since the warranty recently went out and I appreciate it, but I live alone and don't have another vehicle, was never offered a loaner and rental car prices were through the roof this past summer so I had no vehicle for over a frigging month. I also attempted to communicate through the text app but apparently the tech who I was in contact with and still showed to be my tech in the app had blown me off to another tech but didn't change it in the app which made the text app useless but I continued to leave trash ratings for whomever was assigned in the app bc that's not my problem. To add insult to injury I inquired what the cost was without Hyundai covering not and it was something less than a few hundred dollars which I totally had and could've been moved on with my life but these people were adamant that Hyundai would pay for it. About a week later a tech called and stated they had the car fixed but need a tech to test drive it. I had an Uber drive me up to just go get it bc it had been over a month and if it wasn't fixed these people clearly wouldn't be able to. The two clowns I had been speaking to avoided me and I had to walk behind the fence to grab my own car rather than have them drive it up for me but I didn't care. I had a car after not having one for damn near 4 or 5 weeks. Absolute worst experience I've ever had at Bob Stallings. Trash on top of trash on top of more trash. Absolutely pathetic. read more

Update- DO NOT GO HERE! I recently decided to take my car to a new dealership. While there I told them I had my brakes replaced less than a year ago at Bob Stallings, but they had been squeaking and I was wondering if they could check them. Come to find out, they not only installed my brakes incorrectly, they also placed after market brakes on my car instead of the manufacture brakes that I paid for. They also had messed up the computer system in my car and it needed to be recalibrated. I was beyond upset hearing this and will be calling corporate. Brakes are nothing to mess with and it could have been extremely dangerous with what they did. I repeat, do yourself a favor and DO NOT GO HERE! Do not trust these people with your life. Worst service experience at a car dealership ever. Came to get my daylight headlight replaced and waited two hours to have it replaced. After that, when I got home I realized it was still burnt out. Returned and was told it was put in upside down. They apologized and even the owner mentioned how he didn't like that. Fast forward a couple months later and my tail light and third break light are out. In addition the SAME daylight headlight they replaced was out too. They stated they didn't have a a warranty so there was nothing that can be done to replace it. So they replace the bulbs and I drive home to find my third break light is still burnt out. I return all the way back and they say then socket is broken and they need order a part so I'll have to return again on Tuesday. At this point I'm wondering what other mistakes have been made that I can't see. My family has bought five Hyundais and needless to say, I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Buying with Bob Stallings Hyundai was the easiest car buying experience I have ever had. We started out wanting a Kia Telluride for my wife, but Moritz Kia in Fort Worth treated us terribly even after we put a deposit down on a vehicle to hold it. The most stress-free new car purchase I've EVER had was at Bob Stallings Hyundai. After shopping around at another place and experiencing bad faith bait & switch nonsense, I seriously thought the worst about all dealerships. I came across Bob Stallings' web site and saw they promised no add ons, no hassle pricing, etc. I didn't know if I could believe it but I can tell you it's 100% true! They respected my time, told me the legitimate, honest price of the SUV that I was looking at, and never added anything on. No markup, and no nasty surprises.
