I needed to have the LED daytime running light replaced on my car. I called the day before, and Juan made the appointment for 10:00 A.M. the following day. I arrived a few minutes after 10:00. Juan was nowhere to be found at the dealership. He arrived shortly before 10:30, saying he was on a test drive. He got me in line for service. After waiting three hours, he came and told me it would be an additional 30 to 40 minutes. I questioned the time. He said we are super busy today. I understood, but I had an appointment. After close to four hours, he brought me my key and checked me out. I left at 2:42 P.M. I live approximately 16 miles away. I started with a full tank of gas. I was furious to see they had used approximately 1/4th of a tank of gas. Either someone ran an errand, or they just let my car sit and idle. Both are inappropriate. read more

I'm absolutely amazed by how they can stay in business... First, Chris in Service was my point of contact, and he's a great guy. He was helpful and very nice. My daughter's Honda Pilot developed a strange sound. Long story short, I replaced the timing belt (which took me about 4 hours in my garage), which, unfortunately, didn't correct the issue. I determined that a professional Honda service center could troubleshoot the deeper problem better than I could. Today, I was told that to find the problem, they needed to replace the timing belt, and start there. They wanted to charge me $2,300 to change a timing belt! They said it was a 7 hour job. The Honda manual says it's a 2.1 hour job. They also said that if they couldn't get the timing right, then we'd just have to throw away the engine and get a new one. What??? Don't go there. it is my opoinion that they are dishonest and exorbitantly expensive. read more

we selected a CR-V Hybrid,very happy with the vehicle, were Old, 78, because of this we asked the finance person named Junior, for repair coverage that would minimize our cost in the future. he sold us $6,300.00 worth of coverage. When we went to the dealership for our second service were told we need the brake fluid and filter changed and the cost would be $199.00, also we need a front end alignment, which would cost $159.00. When we questioned what our maintenance contracts covered they told us neither of these items, we were told if we had Honda Care we would be covered, we asked what we had? we were told we had something called ethos coverage, not even something from Honda, no doubt you know how angry we are. since that day we asked for a refund for that junk coverage, This Junior in the finance department figured the numbers and has offered our refund to be aprox. $2700.00, a far cry from the $6300.00 we paid. when we asked why so little Junior told us it was because of the mileage, our mileage was 13,800.. this was our (2nd) SECOND SERVICE. We have since called other Honda dealers, and we learned we should have had Honda Care for our coverage and the cost should have BEEN AROUND $2750.00. We have purchased that coverage from another Dealer, You need to know however; now as our CR-V is used the cost we had to pay for it was $4500.00. Because were Old and now retired and I am a disabled Viet-nam vet. we no longer have access to hundreds of dollars for high cost repairs. we felt perhaps others have been taken advantage of in a similar sad manor, most importantly though, others need to be warned of this SHADY way of selling some HIGH priced JUNK in place of the High quality products offered by reputable Honda dealers. Updates: Jeff Cole (Sales Manager) called January 9th to let me know he got the Service Manager involved and they retested everything which showed all 4 tires were out of round but the wheels were fine. Freeman would replace the tires but he didn't know if they were in stock. January 17th, I received a voice mail call from Service Manager (Crystal) who let me know I'd need to pay for the 3 tires (not 4 now???) and Michelin would reimburse me. I called Michelin who indeed indicated they were warranting the tires but Freeman was an authorized dealer and Michelin could reimburse them. I called and left a message for the Service Manager and ask why the disconnect since Michelin would reimburse them. (I can only assume Freeman is so tight for $$ they can't wait for a reimbursement. January 18th received a call from my service advisor (CC) who ask If I was ok with paying and Michelin reimbursing me, I told her no and my expectation was that the tires would be replaced, they would get reimbursed and I wouldn't pay anything (again BRAND NEW CAR). Received call back from CC on January 18th who told me they would be replacing the tires but needed to send the old ones back to Michelin before they would replace them? (not what Michelin said but ok) Ask how long that would take and CC said she hoped it would be complete by January 24th. January 29th, no follow up or call from Freeman so I called and left a message at 10:14a January 30th, 10:43a, called and left a message for CC, who called back and left a message. I called her back but had to leave a message. At this point the car has been in my possession 31 days and Freemans Service Department for 25 days. January 31st (they have reverted to texting me now) but the update is now Michelin agreed to the credit (that was done on the 17th) and they are scheduled to pick up the tires today, 1/31/2025 or Monday and I'll be notified once they issue a credit? January 31st, I filed a complaint with the TxDepartment of motor vehicles, Attorney General's Office and the BBB. Additionally, I located an email address for the Managing Partner of Freeman Honda and emailed him and his assistant at 3:15p. 3:34p, received a call from Mitch at Freeman Honda, no apologies, just said the tires are on the car and it will be ready by 5p. The hoops that had to be jumped through to get this done was simply not worth it. Avoid the service department at all cost and be careful with the sales department. read more

When I called I made sure to ask if they had the headlight in stock and that the repair would be done same day. When I arrived today however the technician told me that they don't have any of those headlights in stock. He proceeded to tell me that the apt was for diagnosis and that it Would take them four hours to diagnose before they can replace the headlight. Long story short that was a lie. This kid is half my age (he wasn't even a twinkle in his daddy's eye when I graduated Basic Training July of 1990.) He acted like some kind of an authority figure in talking to me. He told me the intercooler was missing a gasket (the Civic had less than 7K miles on it.) I told him it was covered under a USAA claim, or warranty.. This is the second time this month we've brought our family van in for service. The first time around David assisted me - he was attentive and very helpful. He ensured that I had a loaner vehicle to get to and back from work. They kept us informed about our vehicle and promptly notified us when the van was ready for pick up. We picked up the van and it was washed. Second time around was for an alignment. Dropped the van off with Mike. He listened to my questions and concerns. Was patient with me while I called my husband on the phone to run some things by him. The guys here take their time and make sure that you are taken care of from start to finish. So before posting I saw the bad reviews, and read through them, due to there only being 9 of them. I can see and imagine how these would be valid testimonies. However, our family had a pleasant experience, mainly because of our salesperson, Jeff Cole. I had originally contacted him to inquire about their used Odyssey inventory online. There was not anything available at that time, but a dew days later, they had a lease trade in that worked with what we are looking for. From that point on, he worked to help with financing, scheduling, answering questions, holding the vehicle for us, and expediting the certification process and detailing. The dealership itself is not all that great or imoressive. We were spoiled because we had been to the new Sam Pack Ford dealership in Carrollton a few days previous. If you want the top presentation, amenities, and customer service, that's it. Freeman Honda, however, felt like 90s dealership - a bit outdated as far as decor, setup, and we felt like we would be approached by a sleezy salesman as soon as we walked in. Thr finance manager wasn't too pushy at all in upselling me on additional warranty amd coverage, mainly because I cut him off early and told him not to waste his time (politely) and I wouldn't waste his. So he bypassed all the upselling and moved quickly through the rest of the paperwork. The only other thing that wasn't that great is that the interior wasn't as great of condition as we were led to believe. But don't think our salesman did that on putpose. The interior was pretty worn in with a good amount of scratches and dings. The interior wasn't a beige like we wanted or hoped for but again, that wasn't misrepresented. Due to the disappointment of the car not being everything we wanted to the T's, our salesman did his best to get the body shop to address most of the scratches we were upset about and installed all wather mats, in an effort to make up for the negatives. The personalized customer service we received to make us as happy with our purchase as possible will forever be appreciated, because we hope to drive our first minivan into the ground...keep and drive it until it's done. Our kids should grow up to be teenagers in this car, so it was an important purchase. The salesman you work with means all, if not most, of the difference. He is very honest and does not play with your money. He will also work with you when it comes to servicing your car. Johnson has split my car's maintenance/service into 3-4 parts, which makes it much easier on my bank account. I have purchased and serviced numerous cars in my lifetime and dealt with some pretty shady dealers and sales people, but these guys r the worst. Do business with them at your own peril. Here is a list of their scams: 1. They made us listen to a half hour explanation of financing in order to pressure us into financing and make more money after we told them we were paying cash and didn't want to listen to their financing pitch. 2. The made us wait 2-3 hours to sign the paper work. Don't know what they hoped to gain. 3. After test drive, they prepped the car for us, and when giving it to us fir delivery the front grill was smashed. They either switched the car or broke it during the prep and guess they hoped we wouldn't notice. When we complained they had the gall to blame us saying that we broke it during the test drive. I don't remember the whole argument, but they finally agreed to fix it. Took a week for them to give it to us-realize that we had already paid for it at this point. 4. Neither electronic key worked properly from the day they gave them to us. They charged us over $100 to replace the first one. When the second one finally completely failed with the exact same issue they charged us $5. So do they purposely give broken keys and why the price discrepancy to fix the exact same key with the exact same problem. 5. They repeatedly overcharged us for service items. For example, most recently, they charged us $40 for the free/.99 cent anticorrosion washers u put on the battery terminals. The service lady had the audacity to try to justify the cost to me. When I told her I change the battery on my car all the time and know the parts cost and was only there cause it's my wife's car, she offered me a discount on my next oil change. How insulting. I wanted to leave and never come back after #1, but this was my wife's car and she insisted on staying through 1-5. After the $40 for free/.99 cents part she finally believed me that these guys have been totally ripping us/her off. Don't use Freeman Honda, they are totally dishonest and will lie to ur face. So, I scheduled an appointment earlier in the week for a recall on my 2018 Honda accord . I arrived at 10am as scheduled. Service guy came out asked a few questions and scanned vin number to see what open recalls there were for my vehicle which I explained to them what recalls I was bringing my vehicle in for . I also told the service guy that I've been getting a notification for over a year and a half about my TPMS and I purchased an extended warranty for my vehicle when I purchased . Of corse I was fed some BS of him saying it will cost 199.00 for a diagnosis and basically telling me there's nothing wrong with the TPMS . By this time I was wanting to drive to the North side of town to get better Customer Service but I went ahead and left my vehicle and was told they don't offer loaner cars for this service so I'll have to take a shuttle . The shuttle driver was the only great thing about my visit there . Hats off to Linsey I think his name was . So I'm dropped off at home and about an hour and half later Jeff called and said they don't have the part for passenger side seatbelt but it'll be there in the morning and that he was leaving for the day and Trey will give me call when car his ready . Ok so I leave to have lunch with kids and I get a call from shuttle about 1pm saying he was at my home to pick me up . I told driver I wasn't home and was told by Jeff that Trey would give me a call when everything was complete . So after we were done eating I called to speak with Trey . After several attempts to get him to answer his phone he finally answered. I told him shuttle showed up at my home and I was just wondering if my car was ready . Trey put me on hold for 10 mins ! After he decided to return to phone he said it was ready . My daughter dropped me off . I walked to service department desk where there was several service advisors sitting there plus people that work in parts . I literally stood at the desk for 10 mins for the young lady in parts ask me have I been helped . I guess she saw that any of the service guys was trying to help . I told her I'm there to pick up my vehicle and Trey is who I spoke to . She looked for Trey and said he was outside talking to a customer . So I stood there for another 15 mins and the other service guys acted as I wasn't standing there . It took so long I went and sat down in the lobby area . I finally walked back in after no one came and got me and went to Trey's desk and stood there . After 3 mins of standing there and Trey never acknowledging me standing there and I asked him ... are you Trey he said yes I'm getting your paperwork together now . This is crazy !!!! I know this location has had plenty of issues in the past to where they had to get a whole new team but it's worse than it was before . Well went in Saturday 2/12/2021 for an oil change that took over 3 hours . The only time a person came an spoke to me when it was supposed to be ready in 15 minutes. Did not happen excuse was needed a special lift to change my oil . So another hour 4 hours for an oil change . Tired of waiting finally car is ready its parked outside to my dismay i get home and found out my side skirt on the passenger side is split wide open . If you want to wait 2 and a half hours for an oil change with an appointment, then this is the place you wanna go! However, it is so difficult finding trustworthy auto service and repair. By no means am I saying this place is trustworthy because I haven't had to deal with them on that level. What I do know is that you just can't come in to get a service, such as an oil change without them trying to up sell you on additional services. I had a car key issue that Chris in parts help me with. I came in to get the key battery replaced but unfortunately he wasn't able to get the key back open which forced me to replace the entire key. I wasn't too excited about it but Chris really went over & beyond with his customer service to help me out (5 stars for him)! HOWEVER, I cant say the same for the Service Manager, while I was waiting he was yelling & screaming at Christian the entire time. I don't know what Christian did or didn't do to warrant this behavior but it was only 9AM and the Manager was going crazy while customers were in the waiting room. Poor guy couldn't even sip his coffee good before the Service Manager (who also wasn't wearing a face mask) was yelling at him to go help customers who pulled into the service garage or answer the phone after just walking in the door. Mind you Christian wasn't the only person sitting around and everyone is just starring at each other shaking their heads. I don't know how the operation works but you don't have to yell & embarrass your employee to get the job done. Never ever go to this dealership! Worst experience I have ever had with a car dealership! Finance Manager does not give a damn if one of his agents (Anthony Brown) sneaks in a warranty into your financing. Anthony Brown pulled the "warranty is made to sound like it comes with the car for free" scam. Anthony failed to mention the warranty is $1,700.00 and it's added into the financing. If you don't catch it in the contract, then you're screwed. I went up to the dealership to speak with the Finance Manager Chad Jones about the situation. Mr. Jones informed me that he reviewed the recording of the conversation between me and Anthony and confirmed that Anthony did not mention the cost of the warranty. Mr. Jones went on to say it was a miscommunication between me and Anthony. Mr. Jones did not seem to care that I am now paying more in my monthly premium than it should have been because of adding on a warranty into my financing. Mr. Jones said he can refund the warranty back but it will not change my monthly premium. I did not get the full warranty refunded. They still owe 300.00 to the refund. I tried to get some kind of compensation for my time wasted and he went on to make it sound like I was trying to get something for free. Unbelievable! I was then told by the Finance Officer Chad Jones to get out of his office. He then proceed to call me "Little Man" in an attempt to cut me down. I was blown away by the way I was treated. While Anthony was talking down to me in the lobby the GM stood by and did nothing. I did speak with the GM Wyman King. The end result for compensation was two free oil changes and gas reimbursement for when I have to drive 45 min to the dealership to get the oil change. I did not get an appolgy from Mr. King. He just said he will review the recording. On top of that, the service team doesn't even know how to replace a blown tire with the correct one. Had to call the dealership after later noticing the tire they put on was completely different. The tire they replaced it with was a cheaper tire and had a lower tread life. Thus I had to wait another week for the correct tire to come in and spend 3 hours out of my day to have it put on. I do have to say the service manager was very nice and very apologetic about the mishap. Once again, worst experience I have ever had in my life with a car dealership or business! TL;DR: They snuck in a warranty that I didn't consent to, when I asked about it they acknowledged that I wasn't told. The finance Manager was rude, the GM didn't care. I went to the website this morning to set an appointment to have my oil changed. I completed the steps and received a confirmation for my 10 am appointment. I arrived for the appointment only to be told that there is a 2 1/2 hour wait. I asked what was the point of making the appointment? The young lady smiled and said let me get you a service advisor. Anthony Contreras comes out to speak with me. I explain what transpired and he stood there with a blank look on his face and told me they don't do appointments on Saturdays and the online appointments don't even come to the dealership. So any customer that makes an appointment online it is never communicated to the dealership even though you receive a confirmation number. To make matters worse he never once apologized for the inconvenience. In fact, he made it seem like it was my fault since I didn't call the dealership instead of using the technology that FREEMAN HONDA fraudulently makes available. I even told him how rude, unconcerned and inconsiderate he was being toward me by making it seem like I was at fault for not calling. Again, NEVER offered ANY type of apology or empathy what so ever. I even went as far as literally explaining to him how good apologetic and empathetic customer service should take place. His response was a blank look, asking me what he should apologize for and rudely repeating that I should have called because that's what he would have done and asking me if I was going to wait or not. This was absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. The service Director MIKE HIGHLEN needs to fix this problem immediately. Instead of ANTHONY CONTRERAS doing what he could to assuage my concern he made it WORSE! If you have to go to this dealership DO NOT DEAL WITH ANTHONY CONTRERAS AT ALL. He is HORRIBLE!!! I was so livid I actually couldn't sit there any longer. I went and got my keys back to go somewhere else. The ONLY reason I did not leave is because the Lori Panick took care of me by getting me in and comping the oil change. If you can put up with my family while car buying, you're probably in our good graces. I decided to shop around for a Honda and a friend had purchased a car I had been eyeing from here at Freeman. I worked with Tommy Ford to buy the car and then Frank Urista for the financial aspects of it. Other than the fact that when folks were with other customers, there was an extended wait to pick up my car, I had an overall good experience here. Tommy was really laid back and he and my brother ended up bonding a whole lot - get a room full of boys together and they'll just go off for hours about cars. I love the car I have now. Mike Allen from sales is awesome. I have no issue with him, the finance people? Total garbage scum. 3 cars purchased from here, and sadly they ruined a good relationship I had with the salesman. We have had several bad experiences on the service side. I have tried giving them second, third, and fourth chances but it doesn't get better. They take literally 4 hours to do an oil change, no other service. Literally that's not an exaggeration. Today my parents went to change the fog light bulbs. They were having trouble doing it, so they notified my dad. They tried going through the hood and underneath the car, so they unscrewed several screws. When they "completed" the work, my dad checked the hood and underneath the car. He noticed the screws and clamps where missing. He went to tell them and they had the nerve to tell him they did not touch underneath the hood and that the vehicle was like that when he brought it in. My dad saw them taking off the cover on the engine. He stepped out and noticed them doing it. When he told them that, they went back to look for the screws and the clamps and they stated they misplaced them, and they had to order new clamps because they don't have any in stock! Now my dad has to go back for them to fix that! My dad complained to the supervisor and he apologized for what happened. Another employee had the nerve to tell them no one is perfect! I'm sorry but the safety of my vehicle is in your hands and you're going to tell me no one is perfect!!! If they failed to screw something vital to the operation of the vehicle, and my parents had an accident, what then! No more chances given. Honda needs to step in and make sure the service team is properly trained and teach them customer service skills! read more

With nearly paying off my car I was considering purchasing a new or newer car here. Until just recently my mother purchased a previously own car and was made many promises about it being cleaned, detailed and a few minor fixes which never happened. Not to mention it had been 3 months and when she called her financier to make a payment, she learned she never got the title for the car. When she brought the car back the manager looked shooked, like, oh she found out. He had very few words and asked if she wanted to come back and get the car once the title came in. He never even offered an apology. However, the main purpose for this review is the awful customer service of the Service Department. Particularly my encounter with the manager, Mike. The service department has declined over the past 2 years. I have been bringing my car here for the past 5 years and the friendly environment is what has kept me driving across town passing up other Honda Dealerships simply for an oil change. I came in on a Wednesday and quickly left after the service rep advised I schedule an appointment for a quick in-and-out considering the wait was an hour and a half. Because of my busy schedule, my mother agreed to take my car back in for me on that Friday. She brought my car in at 8:30am and was told there is a little bit of a wait but she specified to them she needed to be out in time for an engagement she had at 9:30am, which was near by. She was promised that she would be out by 9:15 am. As she went to check the status around 9:15 am, she was told it was going to be a 2 hour wait. I called the manager, Mike to inform him of this as he was very careless and combative with me and said things like, what do you want me to do we had people call in today and there's nothing we can do about that, she agreed to wait 2 hours when she came (not true). He mentioned he couldn't just skip us ahead of everyone else that had appoinments, which was not what expected nor what I wanted. However I never, ever expect to be talked to in such a way and with such a tone as his by anyone from any place of business when my time in money is involved. He offered me 20% off which wouldn't have made me happy considering the lack of professionalism and the combativeness. The fact is, I did not come to get a discount or anything free for that matter. However, customer service is part of what I pay for and what I drive across town for so nothing would have made me happy after I was handled in such a poor manner by Mike. I even atrempted to mention to him how the customer service has declined over the past couple of years but he seemingly cared nothing about that as he was very curt with me. My mother informed me that he had her sign in two places and there was no charge. No other words were exchanged. My concern with that is there were other service alerts on my car that they normally go over with me such as tire rotation or transmission flush which I researched and was the case. Nevertheless, I understand some things are out of our control such as people calling in to work or being short staffed. However, the way you handle the situation is totally in your control, Mike. Arguing with a customer is definitely not ideal for quality customer service. I can think of several ways that this could have been de-escalated. Had we known up front the wait would have been 2 hours, we could have rescheduled a later appointment or on another day as we had done before. After all, gas and time had already been a wasted. Overall, this review is in efforts to improve the customer service of the service department. Obviously I have to find somewhere else to go to service my car as well as purchase a new car. Knowing this won't affect Freeman Honda for business or financial gain, I can only hope it will bring back the integrity and customer service of the brand as a whole. read more

We worked with Jeff Cole to purchase a new Honda Civic and he took very good care of us. Other Honda dealers gave us 'firm' prices, but when we went to buy they added lots of options costs that were previously not revealed --- even though we specifically asked about them.
