I received above average service from this business. I am only in town for another week when my light went off on my dashboard to alert me to some sort of error code in the engine. These folks were able to fix my car so I can go home in a few days as I was scheduled to do. Therefore, I am in there gratitude for doing me a solid by taking me likely out of order so I could get home. The cost of the service was considerably more than I was expecting. This is why I'm not going to post a full review. I'm going to find the Reddit thread and figure out whether the charge was outrageous or within the realm of reasonable given the location and part costs. read more

AMENDING MY ORIGINAL REVIEW: We took our vehicle back to Bob Thomas and talked to the really nice manager Loren. He took care of the problems we had including the non adjusted, and dry, rear brakes. The charge for the work on the brakes was a wash for the previous double charge on the alignment. VERY PLEASED THAT THEY TOOK CARE OF THE ISSUES.. But still have to question where the mechanic's heads were when we took the vehicle in the first 2 times. Missing a leaking oil filter and missing fixing the rear brakes? And we still had to go in 3 times to take care of what should have been fixed first time. I guess everyone can have bad days. ......."we are new to Medford and Bob Thomas was recommended to us for our vehicle maintenance. We took our vehicle in there, asked them to go through everything and had $1200 worth of work done. However we noticed a big oil spot in our driveway as well as the wheel alignment still pulled. So back we went. When we went to pick the vehicle up, we were told there was no oil leak, it was condensation from the air conditioner. My husband said can you put the truck up on the rack please. They did and there was oil running down the side of the filter (bad seal). And we were charged for another wheel alignment. I been going to Bob's for 6 years when a friend of mine referred me. I must totally disagree with the other two reviewers all I have had is top notch service. I get lifetime free oil changes at Lithia ... However, Lithia will tell me I need more work done and charge an arm and a leg. I proceed to take my car to Bob's get a second opinion and more than 3 times I didn't need what Lithia suggested or if I did it wasn't at the ridiculous price Lithia quoted me. The guys are personable and helpful and don't make u feel stupid even though I know a lot about cars. I have recommend and will continue to friends. read more

I have taken my cars to Bob Thomas several times, always had good service, this time was no exception BUT, the guy at the counter on Feb 18, 2020 slammed another repair shop while explaining what needed done to mans car. So, I use my car for work and within a week from the last time my car went back to them (not my choice) there was something else that happened with the clutch and it makes it harder with taking off and getting into 1st and second gear. These people are so terrible and they just keep breaking things so they can get more money out of people. read more

My daughter's power steering belt was making noise. They checked it out, then told her that she needed a new timing belt, re-seal the head gasket, water pump, seals, belts, spark plugs, plug harness, coil boots, transmission fluid, etc, etc, etc. Total was $1590 Took it to my preferred mechanic. Turns out the power steering belt was being leaked on by... the power steering pump. This fairly obvious solution was not even included in the quote from Bob Thomas. $400 and fixed. vs $1590 and not fixed. Whether due to missed diagnosis or something more sinister, I can't give them a positive review. --later edit: Surprised to see that my review has been 'filtered'. I see that two negative reviews are both filtered, and we are left with two bright and cheerful positive reviews, both left just a few days after mine. Needed my daughters Lexus repaired as she was a student up at the university and I couldn't do it myself... These people were very professional and courteous to her, they even provided a pick up and drop off while her car was being repaired. We had an intermittent issue that was hard to track down, they identified it first time they looked at the car and replaced the faulty part. We've yet to have an issue since. If only I lived in Oregon... This is an amazing group of mechanics. I was passing through Medford and noticed a headlight was out. Found Bob Thomas on yelp and they took me right in. Unfortunately the mechanic couldn't locate the type of bulb used in my car, but it wasn't for lack of trying. He tried several sources but it wasn't common. After we both realized it wasn't going to be replaced that day, he told me to have a safe trip home and wouldn't let me pay him for his time. I was very impressed with the customer service, friendliness and professionalism of everyone there and highly recommend this business! read more

I set up an appointment with Brian Thomas (service writer, and I'm assuming a relative of the owner) to look at and purchase a pop up trailer being sold there. We agreed on a price, I asked home when I could some see it, he said 6:00, and give me the address to bob Thomas automotive. I show up at 5:20 because we drove from out of the county, the office door is already locked. Says it closes at 5:30. So I sent Brian a message letting him know I was here early and what kind of car I was in. He messages me back about 20 mins laters saying "sorry I already sold it" are you kidding me!!! Why would you sell it when we agreed on a time to meet and a price? Why would you tell me to come at 6 then go sell it to someone else???? If you decided to sell it to someone else why would you not even at least let me know before I drive from over an hour away?!? Extremely rude and inconsiderate of other people's time and money. Comfortable seating area while waiting for car to be serviced. For out-of-towners, like myself, take exit 30 from I-5, turn left and the location is less than 5 minutes away.
