Took an extended walk a few weeks ago to check this place out before getting groceries, as it's…read moresupposedly some of the best Thai in South Arlington and had to verify that. Was seated by a delightful young lady, and found the decor and layout to be quite pleasing; modest by elegant. As for the fare, it was indeed quite worth the walk. Ordered a bowl of Tom Yum and the Pad Thai Mun Goong. The Tom Yum was solid and quite flavorful, a flux of tangy lemongrass with the oniony sweetness of steeped scallions, and enoki mushrooms to provide some heartiness. The Pad Thai Mun Goong was a chef specialty pad Thai made with stir fried rice noodle, prawns shrimp tomalley oil (a crucial element for this version), egg and bean sprouts, naturally topped with green onions, peanuts and a lime for squeezing, and this also was quite phenomenal. Savory, sweet, a little tingle of sourness from the citrus in the mid-palate, and the juicy, briny shrimp balancing the dense carbs and rich flavorful sauce. All-in-all, I was well pleased this visit. As this is Padaek's second location, I hope they don't expand too much further/quickly and compromise on quality.

Authentic Thai food! I've been dying for some Tom Kha and was so glad that they had it here. I came…read morefor a late lunch so I was basically the only person in the restaurant besides staff, so everything I ordered came out very quickly. I wasn't too hungry when coming in for a late lunch so I didn't get big plates. But I can 100% vouch for everything I ate. The Tom Kha was some of the best I have ever had! A slightly mild soup with chicken and coconut flavors (yummmm). I also ordered the mussels (I did not expect them to come in a broth since the menu says they are steamed) but they were surprisingly spicy and delicious. It came with some housemade chili sauce that was even spicier! There were like 7 mussels. Even though it was so spicy, the flavors were delicious so I bared through the spicy sauce. I ordered jasmine tea and it came as a packet of the jasmine tea with hot water. I would've loved it to be brewed loose leaf but that's ok. Overall, this place was delicious, and it was so cute! The decor inside doesn't give "Thai" but it's absolutely gorgeous and relaxing. There is a lot of seating as well and a whole parking lot.

Excellent food and service!…read more Soul Thai Kitchen & Bar, located in the Arlington --Dominion Hills neighborhood on Wilson Blvd in Arlington, offers some of the best authentic Thai eats I've had in a while. The whole vibe and setting of the place is welcoming, casual and chill with a really cool interior. I've been here three times now and I can say all the dishes I've tried have been consistently flavorful, seasoned, spiced right and delicious!! My favorites so far are the Grilled Squid, Drunken Noodles, Panang Curry, and Pad See Ew noodle dishes. They even have enticing Thai desserts like Mango with Pandan sticky rice and Coconut Custard with sweet sticky rice which I haven't tried but it next on my list to partake and try. In all, you can't go wrong with this place! The customer service is great, the vibe is chill, relaxing, and most of all the food is delicious!! I highly recommend.

Deliciousness - 3/5 Happiness - 5/5…read more A classy restaurant right in the heart of Shirlington. The menu is interesting, having a lot of Thai classics (papaya salad, drunken noodles and curries) with some more inventive and playful selections (like a General Tso's-flavored dish, a fajita-like sizzling steak dish, Thai-inspired wings). While nothing was bad, the food was uneven. The crying tiger steak (great name!) was flavorful and beautifully cooked. The drunken noodles had plenty of flavor, but was a bit light on the chicken and I wish the noodles had been a but more al dente. The basil chicken, however, had an off-putting, tangy flavoring. I also liked that they gave us four types of hot sauce/peppers to help give a new zing to each bite. The spicy mango margarita was also quite delicious. The staff was excellent. The waitress was friendly and kept up some good banter. They offered my daughter a free drink (she declined). They checked in on us regularly and made sure we were happy and full.

Parking was a challenge due to the major construction project they are doing in the neighborhood but we were able to find a spot and walk over from a few block away. We were seated right away and placed our order with the friendly server. They got my order wrong and had to remake it (ordered shrimp and got chicken). My friend enjoyed her curry chicken over rice and Thai iced tea. I also really liked the salad I ordered - only wish was there were double the skewers of shrimp, even if they need to raise the price. The food was good and they didnt rush us out despite being close to their closing time. I look forward to returning with my friend in the future!

This restaurant and another one named Dok Khao are my two favorite spots for Thai food in the DMV…read morethus far. We had their mixed vegetable pad and their country curry with crispy chicken. The country curry was by far my favorite thing and tasted very, very good. Nice and savory, well spiced, and had a ton of aromatics to brighten up the entire dish. There was also a lot of vegetable vegetables, mixed in to brighten up the entire dish. The curry reminded me of a good khao soi with a little more sweetness. Regardless, it was super super enjoyable. I also loved the pad as well; the sauce was thick and coated all the vegetables nicely with this light savory flavor; if I had to describe what it taste similar to most, it taste similar to those crispy noodles you get at Chinese restaurant coded with a little bit of thick gravy. This one was better though and again I love the vegetables that were served with it. The presentation was beautiful when it came out and the service we had was very good. We came here after a long day of work and were surprised at both the decorations, atmosphere, and service. We will definitely be back.
