It's close to our house so we have been going to it for years and my kids love it. It was a welcomed replacement as another shop close to their pediatrician closed. The tea is good. The kids can order by themselves on the screen. We collect rewards. We have played games while we wait to collect our drinks - the place is clean and modern. The customer service is almost non-existent. We travel a lot and we are social/we say hello, thank you, good bye. I have walked out of there a few times feeling like I trespassed even though I spent close to $50 on a treat. I don't think I have experienced the kind of indifference this consistently before at other places. Once or twice may be reasonable in years - anyone can have a bad day. But consistently? Never. I try to be neutral for the kids who still can earn the treat and enjoy it, and they talk to each other as they wait, but we go back for tea and not the service. read more

On our first visit on a mid-Saturday afternoon, they had apparently run out of boba. Given the choice between waiting for a new batch to be cooked and ready on about 15 minutes and opting for a different topping, we chose the former. Their green tea was fine, and while the boba surprisingly had a hint of sweetness, they didn't have the characteristic round shape and smaller than expected. Our educated guess is that it was related to the cooking temperature vs duration. In any case, the shop had an airy ambience although there was no other customers and we didn't stick around, either. The black pearl boba is so soft and delicious. It is not very sugary at all. Plenty of tea and slushee flavors. They're typically quick and follows direction of sugar % etc. Staff is not very friendly or welcoming though. But I come here for the boba. Got to finally try this Bobatea shop as an Elite Yelper! These past couple months have been super stressful and I haven't had much chance to get out to do my normal foodie things, so this was quite a treat. My first time trying Bobapop here in Manchester lakes, glad there is something different other than Kung Fu Tea and Gong Cha around here. The menu itself is a decent size menu, I was intrigued by the mini marshmallows to which I questioned how would I go about sipping those up in a drink without choking or what flavors to share that with. Not your average topping you'd see in a boba shop. Anywho they offered cute little snacks, and some cookie menu that was not in stock when I wanted to try, will have to return. All the flavors of the cookie seemed yummy! I got my medium Dragon Colada with crystal boba and it was so good. I love dragon fruit and pina colada. When I did arrive it was almost 4pm and was the only one in the store, the drink took almost 12 minutes to make. Was in kind of a rush to get to work, and there was two workers who seemed kind of out of it so there was quite a delay. Overall though, I will have to give it another try! So glad BoBaPop opened up a location in Kingstowne! BoBaPop is a franchise that has multiple locations in East Asia, and made its first U.S. appearance in the MD Burbs. Their menu is pretty extensive, offering milk tea, fresh teas, foam teas, fruit teas, slushes, lattes, and various toppings to choose from (black pearls, brown sugar pearls, white pearls, aloe vera, coconut cream foams, Oreo cookie crumbs, red bean, etc.). I am obsessed with their Korean Banana milk latte, with 30% ice and 100% sugar - it had the nice creaminess from the milk tea and a good strong banana flavor, just the way I like it! Staff are super friendly, kind, and very welcoming - once, we came here about 5 minutes before closing time, and we saw that they were cleaning and mopping up; we apologized and were going to leave, but they insisted that it was okay and we can order whatever we wanted, as they were in the process of making another drink for a patron anyways - wow, so nice! Mid boba. Thier boba balls are alright but woof... those slushy bobas are nasty. They put like heavy cream which is not whipped so your mouth gets this cream shell around your teeth and gums. Tastes like waterd down melted ice cream. And thang them prices are more then the usual kinds you get like at kung fu tea. Small cup as well. 5/10 taste. AWFUL in every way that matters! I tried this place a few times to see if they can get it right, but they can't, so I'm done! First off, their service is incredibly slow. It can take 25-30 minutes, even if no one is there. I can drive to another bubble tea place, pick up an order, and drive back in the time it takes for this place to do anything. But, that's only a part of the problem. Recently ordered a drink with no ice and received a half empty drink! Seriously, half empty! When asked about the rest of it, they indicated that's all you get since there's no ice. In other words, gigantic ripoff! In short, poor service, subpar quality, and poorly priced. I will not go back. There are plenty of options in northern Virginia, and even the worst of them is still better than the experience here. What a waste! read more

Excited to have this new boba addition to the Springfield area. I was there for their soft opening & grand opening day. The place is very clean & service is quick. So far the Vietnamese coffee is the best option and even better than the ones from a pho restaurant. I had also tried the roasted oolong milk tea, sadly this didn't live up to my expectation. I love BoBaPoP and this new location in Alexandria has a lot of promise. I want to say upfront that this location is new; so if you are going to visit please bring kindness and patience. My husband and I visited last Sunday and though there were only two people on staff they were very friendly and worked through everyone's orders as expeditiously as they could. I ordered the 3Q milk tea and my husband ordered the chocolate oreo slush. The 3Q has alot going on for jellies and I thought it was awesome. The Chocolate Oreo Slush was really creamy and delicious. Been here three times and two times the boba has been overcooked. However I will note the drinks themselves are great and we placed all of our orders online for pick up, if that makes any difference. Staff is friendly and they sell cookies from one of my favorite local small businesses: Yume. If this was named Tea Bar, would've given 4 stars but since it's a boba shop, expected way more from their boba. Asked for 50% sugar 25% ice on my matcha milk tea with mango boba pops. Came out fast yes, but the shell of the boba had a hard rough texture. Also, this is really just matcha, no sugar, no milk just matcha. I understand I came in late but this is probably one of the worst matcha milk tea's I've had in my life. I like their tea series a lot like the Ali Mountain Tea. I personally like more of tea flavor. If you like Jasmine green tea, you should definitely try their flower green milk tea - the floral scent just explodes through your senses. Their boba texture is fine but feels like in smaller sizes.
