This is a local spot for me, and honestly mostly go here when I'm not that picky for bubble tea. It's pretty quiet and the staff are always nice (and quick). They have your standard drinks and some specialty ones you might have trouble getting. I liked Brown Cow (basically tiger milk tea), but the viet coffee and thai tea were honestly kind of weak both times I got them. I haven't tried food here yet but it's mostly the sticker shock from how much bubble tea costs these days no matter where you go. Although I would rate it 6/10, I'd still get a drink here if I were ever to walk by here again. Food: I ordered the brown sugar boba cake since these boba desserts were trendy. The pictures of it looked very delicious. When I got it, it was very disappointing. The cake was dry, the sugar cream glaze was not enough to save it. The boba was decent. I drink milk tea regularly. I've tried all the big chains in the area and many of the independent shops out there in Maryland, DC and Virginia. Let me tell you why this place stood out. First, the menu is printed on a piece of paper, laminated and stuck to the door and at the register. This made it slightly challenging to decide what we wanted as first time patrons. I love an independent shop though. Ultimately, this place has interesting drinks that I haven't seen elsewhere. I ordered a guava milk tea with coconut jelly at 25% sugar and I was in love with this drink! It was so perfect, creamy and lightly flavored. The coconut jelly was the perfect match for this drink and it was cold but didn't have too much ice. I gushed about this drink on my entire ride home, I've never had anything like it! The server was super friendly and didn't rush us with our order. There's some seating in the shop, but though this place is perfect to stop by and grab a drink when you're walking by. read more

I ordered the That's Taro-Fic milk tea for myself and the Train to Bangkok milk tea for my husband. My taro milk tea was decent (I'd give it a 7/10 - nothing spectacular and not the best I've had but def cured my craving!). My husband said his Thai tea was good. Not sure if it was because of the green tea but it didn't have a strong honeydew flavor. There wasnt a strong green tea flavor either. Also got the Peach Milk Tea. Asked for 50% sugar on both drinks but this drink was significantly sweeter than the other. Maybe it was the lychee jelly that caused it but it was way too sweet. They were okay. Probably wouldn't be back unless they fix the consistency. Other than that, the staff were friendly and the place was pretty clean. FYI, parking was challenging on a sunday afternoon. Don't let the IG-worthy snapshots of their drinks that are featured on their social media accounts fool you - you won't be receiving anything close to it. The menu offers milk teas, fruit teas, and specialty teas, as well as various Asian Vietnamese snacks (like vermicelli rolls, pho, and banh mis). I ordered a Brown Cow (with boba, black tea, brown sugar, and milk) and the Salty Lemonade. It's interesting because you have an individual on this business site saying that the place uses non-dairy products, but mine was made using 'regular' milk. Aside from the milk, the drink was extremely watered down and the boba was hard. The Salty Lemonade was a super salty syrup-y mess; I was also put off by the fact that some type of a powder was being used - whether that's a lemonade-making powder or the heaping amount of salt, you can tell that there is no quality control in this joint. Both drinks were undrinkable after a sip, as both just tasted artificial. When I stated that the drinks were unable to be consumed, because they were disgusting, and inquired about them being replaced with something else or just receive a refund, both were denied. The employee stated that the business doesn't do either of that, and if I wanted to try something else, I would have to pay. Got it, Spill the Tea. I left both of the drinks on the counter, because, you know, they were gross. Honestly, this place should spill the rest of their 'tea' down the drain. Boba is okay, liked the drink that has salt in it! It had the word Mexico in it.. their Banh Mi's we're not good, they are not necessarily traditional, they don't have jalapeños in their sandwiches, so sucks for all the spice lovers out there! The tea itself is very sweet, so ask for less sweetness if you don't want to feel like you're eating dessert. I came here with a friend and I ordered my usual order of oolong milk tea with 30% sugar, no ice, and boba. I didn't realize I'd be paying $8 a cup which is a bit mind boggling. When drinking it while walking around Alexandria, I didn't like it. The tea: it was over steeped and had the strong bitter taste to it and gave a weird after taste. The tea also tasted low quality as the flavor or semi-burnt (not toasted) leaves came barreling through The boba: the texture was weird. It was super mushy and did not have brown sugar coating it so I think it wasn't tasty. Usually the boba, I like have a bit of a chewy texture that chinese people usually describe as "Q". It wasn't Q. The iced tea is made from powders or fresh, depending on choices selected, and then combined with Boba Pearls, then sealed in a plastic cup that you "pierce" with a large diameter straw. You then "suck" up the Boba filled pearls as you drink the tea, adding to the dimension of the drink you're having - popping the fruit juiced filled pearl between your teeth. I have a pension for mango, so go with mango flavored tea with mango pearls. It's somewhat "one note" but you get the idea. And I like it. I've also had their iced Thai (sweet coconut milk) tea as well, and that is also very good. - and fairly authentic. In short, I've not had one bad thing from them. Neither has my spouse or daughter, so of course we return often. It is refreshing, and while there are limited dining options inside - it's likely to survive the pandemic situation, and continue to thrive. (Oh, and they wear facemasks, so no worries there!) Hint: Parking is available in the garage behind the driveway, right next to the store and a senior living high rise. Parking is free! There are also a few retail parking spots outside, but the parking in the garage has multiple spaces - and covered, with not that far a walk. I've only tried the Pho. It was one of the worst Pho I've tried in my life. The broth taste like store brand boxed vegetable broth. The selection of veggies is little to none, all they give is a table spoon of cilantro and onion slices. There was NO green onion, Thai basil, mint, cilantro jalepeno peppers lime wedges, or bean sprouts. I paid to for brown water, noodles, few slices of beef and a table spoon of cilantro and onion slices served in a plastic to go container. They might as well remove this from the menu. read more
