So far my favorite is the strawberry mango smoothie. I come here when I'm getting food from other local businesses like Honu Hawaiian and BCD Tofu House. They have a wide selection of drinks and you place your order from the kiosk and then you walk over to the other restaurants to pick your food up and by the time you're back your drinks are waiting for you unless the entire strip mall is packed then you might have to wait an additional 20 minutes for your drinks. They have inside seating if you want to enjoy your drinks there after you've eaten elsewhere. This strip mall has plenty of parking but it does get congested in the evenings.
My go to popcorn chicken spot. The chicken is flavorful and allows you to adjust the spice level. I like the tofu here too. Overall a good place to get snacks. It's also a chill place to study or get some work done. Lots of seating. The staff isn't the kindness but I dont usually stay around long enough for it to bother me.
An unsuspecting spot in an inner corner unit of the Yes Plaza in Roland heights. Inside is pretty surprisingly standard, I sort of thought a Taiwanese shop in this strip mall would have a more cute aesthetic. We ordered at one of the two tablet kiosks to the right upon entrance. You can customize the spice level for food and ice and sweetness levels for drinks. The fried tofu and chicken took a bit, but was well worth it. Medium spice was not spicy at all, which might be a disappointment if that's what you're looking for, but the flavor is not lacking at all. It came with their natural fermented yogurt as a dipping sauce on the side, which was rich and tasted like coconut cream. Our yuzu jasmine with grape jelly was so good. Adjusting the sweetness level to 75% was perfect for us. We didn't mix out drink and ended up having more of a grape flavor at the top that slowly turned more yuzu towards the bottom, a delicious and refreshing drink for a hot summer day.
My daughters wanted to have popcorn chicken and takoyaki before going to the movies, so we went to the Boba Ave 8090 at the Yes Plaza on Colima and Fullerton in Rowland Heights. The interior was spacious, and they had snacks and bakery goods (Duke Bakery pastries) available to buy. We ordered from the kiosk ourselves and chose popcorn chicken ($7.95), takoyaki ($6.95), and a Brulee milk tea (approximately $6.45, which we upgraded to a large size). The popcorn chicken - they were very flavorful, maybe a bit salty, but they were crunchy, and we liked the dipping sauce. (8/10) Takoyaki was mediocre (average) (7/10). We've had better Takoyaki. Brulee milk tea - the portion size was huge for a large size, and the flavor of the milk tea was not bad. However, their boba was hard and overly dense. (4/10) They took a while to make the food and the drinks. The food and drink were mediocre, so I gave 3 stars.
Fries were good. Thought it was going to be basic fries. Seasoned & crunchy! Easy ordering through kiosk. Food and drink came out fast too.
1/10 Cheese Uji Matcha Tea Latte - LORD HAVE MERCY. This is the sweetest freaking drink I have ever had. This is the same drink I had from the Arcadia location but it tastes nothing like it. Don't get me wrong, if anyone loves a sweet drink it will be me but this drink tasted like they dumped a pound of sugar in it! Ew.. 4/10 Boba - These bobas are like half the size of normal sized bobas. They're also a bit dense from the jump. Also, they barely gave me any boba! Definitely not enough boba for this sized drink! 9/10 Popcorn Chicken - These were bomb asf. I especially love the portion size! 10/10 Fries - This was truly the only saving grace from this whole experience. Fries were freaking FIRE. Perfectly fried, crunchy on the outside, soft and gooey on the inside. 4/10 Service - Oh man do I have a mouth full to say about this place. First of all, the drink was literally undrinkable.. I informed the lady who handed me the drink and told her it is WAYY too sweet and if she can adjust it to less sweet. She clearly seemed annoyed that she had to remake the drink. I said thank you like 3x and no you're welcome or sorry or anything. 9/10 Cost - $6.79 Cheese Uji Matcha Tea Latte, with boba, and with tax
3.5 stars for this place. The pros: 1) It's open late and 2) The brulee milk tea was delicious. The cons: 1) The tables weren't wiped down, 2) It took a long time to get our drinks, and 3) There are no hot drink offerings on the menu. They do offer snacks and baked goods if you want a bit of food. Like many bubble tea places now, you order on a screen and wait for your drink to be made. There are limited tables inside, but people were hanging out outside as well. Parking can be tough as that plaza is super busy.
If you don't take a photo of the adorable Yes Plaza from the outside, you're being silly. It's so cute and there are some tables outside if you want to sit in the desert sun. Boba Ave 8090 has three locations around LA but this has to be the most adorable. Drinks took quite some time, but such is life at boba shops. I like that you can order everything on the touchscreen, then when it's ready they send a text. The tea here is great! And I love when tea shops have little plugs for their straw holes, that sounds kinda weird but check out the pic if you don't know what I mean. :) My friend and I both were really happy with our drinks. Sounds like I need to try the popcorn chicken the next time I'm in!
Taro smoothie is the bomb and their boba is soft. You can either order via kiosk or pay in the cashier. Prices are reasonable and place is clean and their restroom is clean as well. Fast service.
Okay wow, this place is legit! I went mini golfing over the weekend and was craving for a snack afterwards. I opted for popcorn chicken and after reading multiple reviews about this place, I decided to give it a try. Let me just say $6.95 for a huge serving of popcorn chicken is a deal you can't miss. Not only was the serving large but the flavor was on point too. I only took one star off because they did not have sweet chili sauce but rather a white cream sauce (I thought it was whipped cream but I'm actually not sure). I ended up walking over to Tastea to buy the chili sauce and it paired much better. I already want another cup!
we are new to this neighborhood and discovered boba ave. dare i say... this is my new fav boba spot. also their fried tofu & strawberrry yogurt blend SO GOOD.

I like their portions for their food, however, when we went, we waited almost an hour for our food. there's no reason for us to wait that long. i've ordered at tastea before and they have never made me wait that long despite being more busier than this place. at one point they had one of our food just sitting there while waiting for our other item to come out. so by the time we got to eat it, that item was cold. workers are also not that nice. bad experience overall, don't come here if you have somewhere to be. read more

Such a cool boba spot in Rowland Heights! I've never seen a place like this before. When you get to the front of the boba shop, it feels like a different state, like New York with the setup of the windows and sign. Love it! The drinks were solid. I got 100% sweet and it was perfect. :) Still subtle sweetness and I love me some grass jelly. It's easier to chew for me, compared to having boba. Popcorn chicken had a kick of spice and good crunch. You order your food at the kiosk and the server calls out your number. Courteous and helpful staff here. Would definitely come back! read more
ORDER popcorn chicken (4/5) the popcorn chicken here is a steal for only $7.62 after tax! the downside is they only have their house made sauce, which is sweet and creamy. i wish they had sweet chili sauce or other options. the mild here has a little kick to it. the chicken itself is cut into at least 1 inch pieces and the breading isn't too thick. SERVICE i always order on the kiosk so the ordering process is quick and easy. they get the orders out very efficiently too. AMBIANCE spacious inside with plenty of seating. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Their kiosk broke and charged me twice. No matter what I told the cashier he did not care. He kept saying that my transactions are "pending" but they literally took my money twice. Horrible customer service, I should've at least received my money back. Scammers. read more

I stopped by this boba shop to get a drink before picking up lunch at Honu. They have 2 order kiosks where you place an order and pay. They have several tables where you're able to enjoy your drinks and snacks as well as the outside tables shared with the other buisnesses. I saw that they had takoyaki and was curious. So I ordered takoyaki and a cheese jasmine green tea. The shop was pretty busy but it took less than 10 minutes to get the takoyaki and drink. The takoyaki was so good! It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It reminded me of takoyaki from Little Tokyo in Los Angeles. The tea was good. The cheese foam was light and not too sweet. Customer service was brief and friendly. I will definitely be returning to get my takoyaki craving satisfied. read more

Finally visited again and they bought back the cups!(: The price for the popcorn chicken is now $7.95 but still the best deal in the area for the amount they give you. Service is the same, friendly but can be slow when busy. I usually get my order 20-30 mins. Could be because they're understaffed i don't know but I don't mind waiting since I usually come to stay a while and study. Thank you~ read more
Stopped by after grabbing a match latte next door. They employee was really nice and welcoming. I ordered just an order of popcorn chicken and it took about 10 mins to be ready. I ordered mild and it still had a nice kick to it. It also had a sweet after taste. The dipping sauce we were given was kinda strange, it was almost like a sweat cream dip. They have ordering kiosks, which is fantastic! I've been wanting to try a Boba Ave 8090 for a while, but I live near a drive-through only one and the line is always insane. While this parking lot is a nightmare, you'll be able to find a spot if you look long enough. When I went in, the shop was full but only one staff member was working. I waited around 10 minutes for my drink. I got a brown sugar boba, and it was pretty good! There is plenty of seating as well. read more

I'm obsesseddd with their fried tofu!! I get medium level spicy and it always comes out smacking good! Today I decided to try the popcorn chicken and it's alsooo delicious. Their drinks are 8/10 could be on the sweeter side so I get less sweet. read more

Grabbed drinks here on a hot day. It's situated in the far back corner of the Yes Plaza, with parking availability that varies based on time of day. Drinks (4.5/5): We got their taro smoothie and their strawberry yogurt smoothie. The taro smoothie was rich and creamy, with ribbons of actual taro swirled in with the artificial purple stuff. Their strawberry yogurt smoothie legitimately had real strawberries and yogurt in it (and I know that sounds silly, but majority of yogurt drinks use yogurt flavored syrup). Overall, fresh, creamy and tasty! Service (3/5): Standard. You can order at the kiosks on the wall. I also bought bread from them and checking out at the counter was quick. Ambiance (3/5): Nothing too special about the place, but it was minimally yet tastefully decorated. Decent amount of seating for maybe 6 parties or so, but can't recall if they have free wifi or sockets to plug in and work. An aside: I like that they sell Duke's Bakery and have a pretty sweet (pun intended) variety at this place. The snack stand idea was also unique, and you can pick out different kinds of small snacks like quail eggs. Reminded me of what you'd find at Chinese supermarkets in Beijing where you pick and buy by the bag, so nice nostalgia factor there! read more
A simple shop with limited (but good selection of drinks). I particularly like this shop partnered with Duke's Bakery and offered some popular fresh baked pastries. We ordered: 1- Messy Sweet Potato Milk (3/5): It's literally milk smeared with sweet potatoes. It looks good but taste is meh. 2- Thai Ice Tea (4/5): It's meets expectations but nothing raving. 3- Jasmine Green Milk Tea (4/5): It's good. Second time at this location. My son found it online and we stopped as we were in the area. This second time I got off with him to check it out. They have a computer where you order and can customize your drink however you'd like. I really like that you can choose how sweet you want it. The staff doesn't have much communication with you, the place is clean and it was full of people enjoying their drinks and just on their lap tops when we stopped by a few days ago during the week. They also have a few food options on the menu. I tried the same drink my son likes, the Oreo vanilla smoothie. I got it 75% sweet and it was really good and not sweet at all. I'll probably do 50% sweet next time. I don't like the boba balls but my son orders it 100% sweet and with brown sugar boba. I like this boba place and my son loves it. We will continue to stop by when out of town in the area. read more

I stumbled upon this boba spot in Rowland Heights and I was surprised with their delicious menu selections. It is located inside Yes Plaza with free parking, and they have indoor and outdoor seating. Their boba/snack menu is straight to the point and smaller than most boba places but the taste packs a punch. We ordered popcorn chicken ($6.95), takoyaki ($6.95), fried tofu ($5.45), and taro smoothie ($5.75). The snacks came in large portions and were very delicious. They also give you this small white cream dipping sauce. I wasn't sure for which snack it was supposed to be for, but I just dipped everything in it. It was quite addicting and I asked for more. The taro smoothie was perfectly blended and just had the right sweetness to it. This place is affordable, and the quality of their food/drinks are superb. Highly recommended! read more
Glad that they opened a Boba Ave 8090 AGAIN in Rowland Heights since there was that one near the Phoenix/Cold Stone plaza that perished since it opened before COVID and especially with the recent closure of the other Boba Ave 8090 in SGV area. It's located in the back of Yes Plaza, so it's another option to get boba if you don't want to wait for the massive Tastea line. There's seating inside and the outdoor patio seating in the "courtyard" area in Yes Plaza. Despite being a cold March night, it was SUPER hot in the actual cafe so we ended up sitting outside. You order from their 2 tablet kiosks and they call out your order later. The menu seems a bit limited from what I remember from the other Boba Ave 8090 locations so I hope that they add more in the future. My friend and I ended up getting their Strawberry and Mango yogurt slushes, less sweet. It's made with the real fruit puree and the large size is comically huge, so it's a nice serving that doesn't break your bank through upgrading. I'm glad we got the sweetness adjustment since it was still pretty sweet with the sugar being toned down. I do like that they use a real fruit jam puree. Looking forward to new drink additions here. read more
