Hello Boba Joy! You make some great Popcorn Chicken and some pretty good Milk Tea! The Milk Tea I ordered was the Brown Sugar Milk Tea. The milk tea was good and came with a the perfect amount of ice. The brown sugar flavor was subtle, and I would of liked a little more of that flavor. It was good however. The popcorn chicken was fantastic. It came with a great crust: a crust that was well seasoned, and the chicken inside was tender and tasty. I like that they give you some pretty good size morsels to eat. The popcorn chicken here rocks. The staff are pretty friendly. I love this place. It is hard to find a boba place that also have food/snack, and I was thrill when I found out about this place. The snack is excellent. My little one enjoyed the cajun fries, and I love the pop corn and the crispy tofu. The drink is good as well. Excellent customer service, and if you want a snack with a drink, this is a place to go. While I was working at a table, another employee, Charlie, was polite enough to ask if I needed anything else and if everything was alright. We came here for the national boba day bogo that they advertised on IG. I ordered 4 drinks, and when I got my receipt I questioned why we didn't get the bogo. They said we had to mention the bogo before we paid and that the transaction couldn't be reversed. Pretty shady. That wasn't mentioned on IG. Disappointing. read more

Love this place! Staffs are always friendly with fast service. We have tried a couple different drinks here but taro slush is our favorite. Some of the toppings and the winter melon tea slushy are very sweet. Taro with egg pudding is my husband's favorite and so is mine. Give it a try if you haven't already :) read more

There aren't many boba shops in the area so I was happy to see boba joy. I tried the green milk tea with 50% sweetness and a black milk tea with 75% sweetness. For their milk teas, they said they use a lactose free creamer. Overall the drinks were a little light in tea intensity but given the price it works out well. Overall not too bad. read more

I used to come here when it was known as Ding Tea. Today was my first time at Boba Joy! I had the Hokkaido Milk Tea, 50% sweet with cheese foam and egg pudding. It is the perfect level of sweetness for me, and the egg pudding is delightful. I also had the popcorn chicken and fried tofu. The popcorn chicken is still crispy, even though I had it delivered through UberEats, which is impressive! It has a yummy sweet-savory seasoning on it and comes with sweet chili sauce and a spicy mayo that reminded me of Cane's sauce. The fried tofu is also good and fresh. My daughter ordered from this place on June 1st. She walked up to the counter, greeted the cashier and asked for a Vietnamese iced coffee. Without even looking up, greeting, or acknowledging my daughter, with an attitude said "what size". The entire interaction she was rude. Not only that, the drink we received was wrong. She did not receive a Vietnamese coffee. Either that or the Vietnamese coffee tastes watered down like a regular iced coffee or milk tea. Highly disappointed. I have been to Boba Joy exactly 5 times now, and every single time I have been thoroughly satisfied with the quality of their tea and service. I get either their iced Oolong tea or their iced Assam Black Tea (unsweetened). You can't possibly go wrong with either one. The ice and ice level was good, as well. It was big chunks so it didn't come up the straw, and there was just enough where the drink was kept cold throughout the hour that I drank it. The flavor was amazing. It was sweet, cold, and refreshing. The tea was just strong enough for me. I've been told their boba milk teas are spectacular too. I was also able to try their Crispy Tofu, which was a very welcome vegetarian option. They had a great combination of a crispy exterior with a soft, mushy interior. There were definitely enough to share around and people said they were delicious. The popcorn chicken were pretty popular too! Service is friendly and the tea came out very promptly. Of the many boba places in San Diego, Boba Joy was definitely one of the most refreshing for great value, and it's the place that I recommend. Disappointed. I've been going/ordering here for months with little issue, but since they switched over.... Today they double charged me for boba AFTER I already paid. And what they gave me is less than half of what they normally give me and they double charged me for it...then told me they couldn't refund or fix it. 3/3 orders I've made since they switched names were completely wrong . They lowered their boba content by about 60% it used to be they'd put a PERFECT amount in and a double order was too much. But now this is less than other places SINGLE order. The drinks taste watered down, and less creamy. The front desk guy was super rude when I called to make sure my order was wrong and not my own mistake. When it was the previous place they had good customer service.I'm super sad because they were so good before. What a disappointment. Great boba shop! My go to boba shop in Santee because their drinks are yummy and they have really good food snacks. This establishment was original Ding Tea but became independent and changed to Boba Joy which I'm really happy for them! They can change and add to the existing menu on their own terms! Anyway, they are tucked away in the corner of the small plaza near Walgreens - very cute and clean establishment.
