My favorite drink is the dirty chai hot. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and they open at 6 am on the weekdays. The baked goods come from a local bakery Bread and Cie. I'm glad I decided to stop here for matcha--it was delicious! I ordered the strawberry matcha cream with oat milk. The cream is dairy, but that was fine since I had lactaid on hand. Flavor-wise, it was excellent: the strawberry wasn't overpowering, and the oat milk didn't mask the matcha. You could still taste both the matcha and the strawberry. The consistency was just right for a cream-style latte. It's sweeter than traditional matcha, so if you prefer your matcha strong and slightly bitter, this might not be the drink for you. But if you like a lightly sweetened matcha where the flavor still comes through, this one is perfect. I'm curious to try their regular matcha next. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I mentioned my dietary restrictions (celiac), and they were accommodating, though there's always a possibility of cross-contamination, so keep that in mind. The shop itself is a great place to catch up with friends, study, or just relax. They offer light snacks like pastries, bagels, toast, parfaits, and acai bowls--unfortunately, nothing gluten-free for me, but still great options for others. This has quickly become one of my favorite cafes in San Diego. For working, meeting colleagues and for a relaxing afternoon. They offer an amazing lox bagel plate. That is my go to food item. Their flavored teas are also quite nice -- light and perfect for spring and summer (get the mango flavored tea). There are a number of outside seats that the coffee house had the very good sense to cover with umbrellas and with sound dividers, offering a little bit of privacy from the sidewalk. Inside, the mood is always so chill, even when it is full of customers. Most everyone keeps the volume down and respects the space of others. I have been a good number of times, and everyone is always there seemingly either to work on their devices or to meet peers. WIFI is strong and reliable. I have never had an issue, which makes it perfect for a workspace. And, bonus -- the entire shopping area is great if you need to hit some errands after your cafe visit, as there is both a grocery story and a CVS right next door. read more

This cozy cafe near Patrick Henry High School is a perfect place to enjoy a nice cup of coffee or tea and a pastry or sandwich. They have a small selection of food but each one is made just right. There's a friendly feel to the cafe and if you need to charge a laptop there are some plug spots for you to keep the power on. The drink was good and tasted exactly like mint and not artificial. It was a little sweet so I'd probably do half sweet next time. The yogurt parfait fell pretty short on expectations in terms of flavor. They loaded it with Greek yogurt, but it was out of proportion with the toppings which were granola, blueberries, strawberries and banana. I finished all the toppings and still had half of the yogurt left. It overall ate very plain too. The yogurt wasn't sweetened and they didn't add any honey. The last time I came here with my friend and brother the iced mint latte was too milky and didn't have a strong mint flavor. I'm happy to report that today it had a beautiful!! color, the mint was prominent and he also added in several mint leaves. The ice didn't melt despite being on the table for an hour or so.
