I love jaunt! The cinnamon cardamom latte is outstanding - not too sweet and has a wonderful coffee flavor. The pastries are always fresh and delicious! It's one of my favorite spots to grab a bag of coffee (usually roasted within the last couple days!) or grab a breakfast treat!! Stop in if you're looking for a great cup of coffee, yummy pastry or a good quality bag of coffee to take home!

My favorite coffee roaster around serving real coffee for the discerning palate. [[HIGHLIGHT]]High marks on not only the coffee but also the vibe and the service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Empanadas are worth a try. I've tried them all, and mushroom goat cheese is my favorite. Cant go wrong there. Next to empanadas is an expansive case full of unique pastries. They do run out! Fun flavored lattes and coffees, but my purest self sticks to the latte. Roasted beans available for sale along with lots of small bites. Matriarch beans was tasty for my at-home espresso machine. Been coming for years and they're consistent. Parking is easy enough, it can get busy, but good for them! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Minimal outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

A local fav! This popular not-so-hidden coffee shop is always buzzing with people! Every time that I've stopped by, it's been a struggle to both find parking and seating. I guess that's just the trade off of finding a well loved spot. I went for a Mojito Coffee this time which is their cold brew with a splash of mint. Super refreshing and just the kick I needed that morning! Side note: Love all the greenery and personality their decor has! A truly beautiful spot!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is so nice. The beautiful espresso machines, the wood accents, the plants, it's gorgeous inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The barista was very friendly and helpful. I love that they ask your sweetness level when you order. I wanted to get my wife a pastry but they were sold out of pretty much everything. I sure they stay busy in the morning and I didn't get there until after 11. I ordered the Cinnamon Cardamom latte which was really good and cinnamon forward. Unfortunately I did not get any of the cardamom flavor which is what I was hoping for and why I ordered it. Either way it was a good latte and I will for sure be back to this place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Hopefully next time earlier and with time to sit and relax.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Highly recommend the ube latte with cream top and a shot of espresso. It was on the special drink menu when I went in March. The ube flavor is very subtle and doesn't taste artificial at all. Also recommend the açaí bowl. The portion is very generous. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are outlets near the indoor tables and the place is clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music could be a bit too loud if you are looking for a quiet workplace.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Jaunt Coffee is easily one of my favorite coffee shops. I've been coming here for the past couple of years and it truly never disappoints. They have amazing coffee with a great variety of flavors, and their pastries are always on point. I also love that they bring in empanadas from a local spot , such a nice touch and perfect if you want something more filling. Since moving to a bigger location a few doors down, there's a ton of space both indoors and outdoors, which makes it a great place to hang out or get some work done. There's also plenty of parking, which is always a plus. It does get crowded and there's almost always a line, but it moves pretty efficiently and is definitely worth the wait. One of my favorite things about this place is their "pay it forward" wall with sticky notes, where people can pre-pay for drinks for others who might need it. Such a thoughtful and community-driven idea. The interior is super cute, they even have books for kids, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Overall, just an all-around amazing spot. One of my absolute favorite coffee shops.

I like the unique flavors that Jaunt has such as the ube. I decided to try the iced dirty ube, since I was craving ube but still wanted some caffeine. It was good but I feel like next time I'll stick to getting a latte if I want caffeine, or just get a pure ube drink. The beef empanada was tasty as always. There were a lot of customers so we ended up sitting outside. Luckily, a table in the shade freed up just in time. I also saw that they now serve basque cheesecake slices in classic, ube, and biscoff cookie butter so I'll definitely get a slice next time. Overall, this is a solid place to get coffee and pastries!

10/10 would absolutely recommend!! We visited this coffee shop because we wanted to try the Muse Cheesecakes by the slice so we can sample more flavors. That went amazing. The burnt basque cheesecakes--every single flavor--will make your mouth do a crazy happy dance. I'm over the moon that this coffee shop offers that option. But we're not here to talk about the cheesecakes. While we were waiting, I decided to try one of the drink specials they were offering that day. I got the Ube Latte with Salted Vanilla Cold Foam (and espresso). And let me tell you this--it's *the best* ube latte I've had thus far. And I've tried several different ones. It was so creamy and flavorful without it being too sweet. The ube was prominent but not too overwhelming, and the cold foam was super delish and made the drink a bit more decadent. I couldn't pass up the chance to let the barista know how much I loved the drink she made and I definitely need to sing praise for this coffee shop here because it deserves it! On top of that, the seating area was very chic, comfy and vibey. There were enough tables for people who want to hang out while they sipped their drink or caught up with work and whatnot without the place feeling too stifling or cramped. Overall, we'll definitely be back. This coffee shop left such an amazing impression and I'm honestly kicking myself for waiting this long to give them a visit!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very tight space but great cold brew and they even have the option to try a slice of Muse Cheesecake from San diego, which is amazing and a must try if you haven't tried them or if you have, you know why you must.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] athe Blueberry pie matcha had barely any matcha, more cream than matcha and it is very sweet so if you got that sweet tooth go for it if not I would suggest asking for half the Blueberry syrup and cream. The staff were nice and energetic.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is nestled in a shared building space with a brewery, a cake place, and a salsa place. It has an awesome feel when you walk in, and the staff was very knowledgeable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm a chai fanatic but being vegan some times I can't order chai because they add honey. The informed me that they make it inhouse and that most of their concentrates and syrups are already vegan friendly unless there isn't an option for alternative milks for that specific drink. My husband also ordered his go to Vanilla Oat Milk Latte, the atmosphere alone will make me want to come back. The Chai was really good, and their vanilla oat latte was tasty too. Will definitely be back.

I love supporting local cafes and this one is clearly a popular spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe is great, very cute and a bunch of tables on the inside and a few on the outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a great place to study and get work done although the weekends can get very busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In my last visit I had the cinnamon latte which was really great. I should definitely come here more often, lots of parking available. Unfortunately no "for here" cups :(

This spot is a hidden gem! The lines are always long! I had the matcha and my friend got the strawberry matcha! They also have seasonal drinks! We were hungry, so got a couple of empanadas to share. They will heat them up for you too! A great cafe for coffee lovers!

Hi! Currently we do not but we are working on getting that going again. Following us on social media is the easiest way to stay up to date. Thanks!

Is the ube paste for the latte freshly made or artificially flavored syrup ? I'm allergic to the artificial syrup so can't take the chance.

Hi Victoria. I’m not sure what ingredient in artificial syrups you’re allergic to but our Ube syrup in house-made with real ingredients. We currently don’t offer the Ube latte as we have our fall specials out.

I prefer the spinach, mushroom and beef empanadas. I tried the Malbec beef but it was too mushy and sweet for me. I'll stick with the traditional one, with olives. I lived in S. FL and baked empanadas are everywhere and usually were $1.50 each (now maybe $2.00-$2.50) so it does bug me to pay $4.00 for an empanada. On the other hand, they make a great snack or meal, depending on how many you get. And they are not as easy to find here, especially baked, so I'll keep coming to Parana.

Empanadas are stuffed turnovers, originally from Spain and Portugal, and eaten widely across South America, including Argentina, Paraguay and also eaten in Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Phillipines too. They are a delight and delicious! This spot is an Argentinian place and I got 3 empanadas. They have many different stuffed options and I chose a beef, mushroom and spinach as my three. I asked how spicy the spicy beef one is and the very nice lady working said it was about 5/10, so I passed. She said it wad spicy, unfortunately, I cannot handle too spicy. So far, I have eaten the beef and spinach one and like them both. I was given chimichurri sauce, but I dont think I like this version, its a little too lemony for me. I like a more parsley forward chimichurri and this one too sour for me. For 3 empanadas, it was about $11, which isnt too bad! The empanadas are delicious and I will def be back again and again!!

I can only speak about my dish as I didn't have a taste of the other meal. I had the El Vainero (sweet corn pancake with Mano cheese, shredded beef, black beans and plantains). The flavors were so amazing together. You will just have to try it. I also ordered yuca fries. The three types of "sauces" were mild, medium, and hot. All three were tasty in their own way and I enjoyed all of them with the yuca fries and towards the end of my meal, it added a little kick to my dish. As for beverages, we had water and I ordered the hot chocolate. I know, hot chocolate, but it was so good. I love an authentic cup of hot chocolate with a bit of real whip cream and some cinnamon. In all, our experience at Encuentro Cafe was great from the service to the food. It is very intimate and we ate in the covered patio. It was as it would be eating outside with tropical decor. Not crowded and noise level as it would be eating in an enclosed patio, not too noisy with the sounds of Old Town patrons walking/driving down the street. I will definitely look forward to visiting this restaurant again when I visit San Diego.

As a Colombian who has been craving authentic Colombian cuisine since my last visit to New York in…read moreDecember, I can confidently say this restaurant truly satisfied those cravings. Being nearly eight months pregnant, my expectations were especially high, and it is rare to find a place that meets them so well. From the seasoning of the food to the warm and attentive service, everything about this restaurant stands out. Although I don't recall my server's name, he was incredibly kind and provided excellent service throughout. The ambiance is also worth noting--the space is large, offers plenty of seating options, and even features a large TV, making it a great spot to relax or watch sports. To start, I ordered a watered mango juice along with a beef empanada. The empanada exceeded my expectations--despite being on the smaller side, it was packed with flavor. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered five more to go, which speaks for itself. They were served with fresh ají, a traditional sauce that complemented them perfectly. For my main course, I had the carne asada plate, which included steak, rice, beans, sweet plantains, avocado, tomato slices, and a small arepa. Every component of the dish was well-executed--the beans were flavorful, the meat was well-seasoned, and the overall plate felt authentic. It is often difficult to find truly authentic Colombian food, especially in San Diego, where options are limited or not genuinely Colombian. This restaurant, however, delivers on authenticity and flavor. The portion size was generous, and I ended up taking leftovers home to enjoy later. In addition to the empanadas (two chicken and three beef), I also ordered a buñuelo and a cheese arepa to go. Unfortunately, these items did not meet the same standard. The arepa lacked flavor and was overly greasy, and the buñuelo was dry and similarly oily, even after absorbing excess grease from the bag. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for Colombian food, especially given how rare it is to find quality options in this area. Friends of mine visited recently as well and thoroughly enjoyed their bandeja paisa, further confirming the consistency of the food. I will definitely be returning--especially for those empanadas.
