Came back for another go. Not a big matcha fan but wanted something with caffeine so opted for their Oreo matcha latte half sweet. I would say half sweet is optimal for the right taste, as anything more is just overly sweet. Boba tasted like it should be. My last experience was just awful because the worker couldn't care less and it showed, but it was an off experience I hope no one has to go through. I remember to ask for 50% sweet but I heard the cashier ask another customer later on about sugar level, which is helpful. Major kudos to the owner for being mindful of customer feedback to keep the quality up. Thank you!!

Boba Tea Planets, is a dessert place in Costa Mesa, in the same plaza as Panera Bread. Inside had plenty of tables that seat about 4-5 people each. Off to the right, was a bookshelf full of games to chill and play with friends. I've been here a couple times now. It doesn't seem to get too busy or busy at all in the evenings. The suite was clean and spacious. The staff were not personable so the environment didn't feel friendly, but to clarify, they weren't rude either. They offer coffee, taiyaki, egg tarts, soufflé pancakes and milk tea with the optional drink toppings, ice level and sweetness. We've only ordered the Oreo soufflé at this time, so I can't speak for the rest of their items. I actually tried to order two Oreo pancakes for the kids, but was told it would take about 40 minutes...I was confused and so were the kids. We've had souffle pancakes at other places before and it never takes 40 minutes. Not even 15/20 minutes. I asked how long it would take for one order and was told 25 minutes. Still, this in my honest opinion is way too long for souffle pancakes. They must not be equipped to make much at the same time or these don't get ordered often that they'd have an abundance ready to be cooked at any given time like a soufflé specialty place. That was a bit of a bummer. We initially ordered to dine in but had to switch to to-go since our table next door suddenly became available. The Oreo souffle was placed in a compostable container which I normally prefer and appreciate, but not for this type of food. The box became super soggy from the cream inside as well as from the steam coming from the souffle pancake. Not pictured is the container of ice cream that goes with the souffle pancake which my kids say was good. The souffle by itself was nice and eggy just as it should taste. The consistency was perfect. The cream on top of the souffle which can be seen in my photo, was a little salty. We scraped that cream off because we didn't like it at all. It ruined the souffle for us. Overall, Boba Tea Planets, was a three for me. Would I come back? Maybe, but not positive. Service was ok, making the space not feel fun or enjoyable. The wait time for a souffle is way too long. I'm willing to try them again but not rushing to do so at this time.

We are having a mini heat wave and I was looking for a light and refreshing drink. I grabbed a black tea with cream top here and it was exactly what I needed. The tea was not bitter and the cold foam was lightly sweet. Absolutely would come back to get this again. The taiyaki was also very tempting and I would love to give that a try next time also. The store concept is a little outside of the box but that's ok. Good parking. Great service - the staff is very helpful and I asked a lot of question. If you do not like powder base drinks, please note they do use powder for some of their drinks, so just ask. Indoor seating available. Please come and create your own adventure.

Cute lil boba shop nearby the OCMA! I was craving Thai tea so I stopped by with my friend for one. It was cute inside with some planet-themed decor. I only tried my one drink but noticed they served Taiyaki as well. The cups our drinks came in were cute! The parking lot is a decent size so it's easy to park at which is always a plus. Oh there was only one person working at the time we went in but she made our drinks pretty fast. So that was nice. I usually kind of judge a place based on how their boba is but I didn't add any to my drink, oops!

We were craving for boba after shopping at south coast and looked up on Yelp for the closest spot and its boba tea planets. We ordered the classic milk green tea with boba. The drink itself was good and had a good balance of milk to tea. The boba was alright, a little harder than I would've preferred but still acceptable.

Best boba I've ever had. Strawberry coconut. I will definitely be ordering this on the reg.

After running errands and some shopping in the area, I wanted to grab a drink before heading home. Yelp came in handy and led me to here. The menu is rather simple. I decided to try the brown sugar milk tea. I did a yelp check in for 15% off and added an egg tart for $1 more. Everything came out to like $6, unheard of these days. The service was nice and prompt. The drink was pretty decent, 4/5. The egg tart was hot and flaky when it came out, also 4/5. Place was roomy with tables along the side if you want to study in a quiet establishment. Its not amazing, blow your mind away but I think this place is decent!

I've been on the search for the best boba the last few years. I would say it's good. Mango tea. The lady was kind. (I dislike boba establishments that force you to order on a kiosk ).

I got a matcha boba slushy and it was pretty good , it is not on the sweeter side, and had a decent amount of boba. And as a dancer it is close to segerstrom.

This place is so cute inside. It has plenty of tables to study and it was pretty empty when I went in the afternoon on a Sunday. They have a good selection of milk teas, fruit teas, and smoothies. I got the passionfruit green tea and my boyfriend got the taro latter. He said he really likes the Toro latte coffee. The passion tea was a bit sour but in a good way because with the lychee jelly it was a good balance. Overall, this place is pretty good! I would probably come back to try a milk tea next time!

Great service, yummy drinks and food. The staff was patient and helpful. This is a great spot to grab a drink and snack when you're passing by.

I tried something from their "secret menu" which was the thai tea with oreo brulee and it was very good but also very sweet! There was only one person working when my friends and I came but he was very fast! I loved the oreo crumbs in the brulee!! The decorations are very on theme and seems like a good place to study. There is lots of parking available on the plaza and it's very close to South Coast Plaza if you wanted to come after a shopping spree!

Decided to stop by here before going to a show at the Segerstrom. My partner got a Oreo Brûlée Matcha Latte with coffee jelly. He said that he enjoyed the crumbs of Oreos mixed in there with the coffee jelly. It definitely gave him a coffee kick. The woman when we walked in was extremely friendly and started up conversation from the moment we walked in. Definitely a little spot to check out

They got bought out years ago & cut my sandwich from the menu. Had to get a chicken bacon ranch club on a waffle & hold the ranch. It was a far cry from that & tasted like Carl's Jr. (who also cut my favorite bbq chicken salad from their menu). Everything is more unhealthy & focused on cutting costs. Every time a restaurant gets bought out, it changes for the worse. The whole world has as every year goes by & especially since the Pandemic. I cud go on forever about this. But no one cares. I can't find anything I love anywhere anymore. I spend countless hours in an endless search for quality stuff that's got something sort of close to what I'm looking for and it's always a struggle trying to adjust & having to ask if they can do what they used to. The answer is usually no & if they even offer to try it's never as good as it used to be. Definitely not worth $30 for a chicken waffle sang & a shake. The cookies & cream was too heavy on the cream, so it just tasted like an inside of an oreo, which isn't my preference/balanced, & they put whipped cream, even tho she asked & I said no whip. The girl walked away right after I got to the takeout counter. So I waited until she came out with a bag of trash & there was no sorry/thanks for waiting. She saw me waiting & just said "Pick up order" & when she brought my shake I said it's not supposed to have whip. I said "This is mine?" She said "Yeah." Again, no sorry & I said "I guess I'll just have to scrape it off. Ok thanks." Happens every time, so I just expect it. I used to work at this mall for over 10 years about 13 years ago & every single thing has changed. Haven't heard of any of the stores except the staples. Felt like I was on another planet. Don't understand how they have a fancy-ish restaurant in a place with such high rent. I don't get it. Super disappointed & now I know it's not worth my time, money, energy, & gas! Miss the old Bruxie once again. Don't know why I even bothered. Just going to have to recreate the sang myself if I ever want it again, which wud be a huge pain. Every single thing is like this. This world seriously sucks. Not a fan.

Santa Ana Brunch Club: A Breakfast Revelation…read more For one, I have never really been a brunch or breakfast person. Breakfast has always felt somewhat predictable to me eggs, pancakes, French toast, maybe some potatoes and even the higher-end brunch establishments, while they may use more refined ingredients, sometimes only manage to give the classics a slight edge over your run-of-the-mill breakfast joint. Then I experienced Santa Ana Brunch Club. When I say this was the best breakfast I have ever had, that is honestly an understatement. And yes, that comes with one very important disclaimer: no seafood* I'm allergic. Everything was phenomenal. And I mean everything. Most restaurants treat eggs like a supporting character a side dish, a filler, something added to make the plate appear more substantial. Santa Ana Brunch Club clearly sees them differently. The scrambled eggs were impossibly fluffy, beautifully seasoned, and carried an original flavor profile that was immediately distinguishable from any other eggs I've encountered. They weren't there to fill space; they were part of the composition. Now, what did I order? Bubbies Fried Chicken n Pancakes substituted with French toast. And this French toast... It looked like something pulled directly from the pages of a culinary magazine or lifted from a beautifully produced food television show. It was almost so visually perfect that I felt like I shouldn't touch it. But once I did, the presentation became secondary because the flavor was even more impressive. I have never considered myself a French toast person. Most of the time, it simply isn't executed properly, so I've always gravitated toward pancakes because, well... it's pretty difficult to completely mess up a pancake. Santa Ana Brunch Club changed that. This was easily the best French toast I have ever encountered. Rich without becoming heavy. Sweet without crossing into excessive sweetness. Every component seemed intentionally placed, creating that rare balance that can only happen when someone truly understands the craft of cooking. There was a progression to every bite texture, sweetness, richness, warmth and somehow it continued getting better as I worked my way through the plate. Then came the fried chicken. That perfectly seasoned, beautifully crisp exterior brought exactly what the French toast needed: crunch, salt, and savory depth. It created a contrast that pulled the entire dish together. The result was essentially an elevated interpretation of the chicken and waffle concept, except this felt like it had been taken into an entirely different culinary universe. This wasn't simply breakfast. It was a redefinition of breakfast. The kind of dish that makes you reconsider an entire category of food you thought you already understood. And then there were the drinks. The Berry Bloom is one of those drinks that makes you stop after the first sip and think, why isn't this bottled and sold everywhere? It's an incredibly well-balanced spritz bright, refreshing, fruit-forward without becoming overly sweet, and composed in a way that makes it feel effortless. This is something I could genuinely see becoming a nationwide bottled sensation. The White Rum Vanilla Bean Latte takes a completely different approach. Instead of burying the coffee underneath syrups, sugar, and a mountain of additives, it allows the actual coffee to remain the star. The vanilla bean and rum notes complement rather than overpower, creating a latte that feels intentional rather than disguised. That, more than anything, seems to define Santa Ana Brunch Club. Intentionality. Nothing felt like filler. Nothing felt like an afterthought. The eggs mattered. The texture mattered. The sweetness mattered. The contrast between savory and sweet mattered. Even the drinks felt composed with the same philosophy as the food. I doordashed not being a breakfast person. I m wondering if I had simply been eating breakfast at the wrong places. Santa Ana Brunch Club didn't just serve me breakfast it redefined what breakfast could be. Whenever I think of brunch or breakfast from this point forward, this is the place I'm going to think about.

Overall, everything lacked flavor, although I will say the red salsa served with the chips was delicious. My friend ordered the avocado toast, but it was basically just a slice of bread with sliced avocado--no seasoning, condiments, or anything to make it stand out. The small garden salad was equally underwhelming, consisting of only romaine lettuce and cherry tomatoes with no dressing or even a drizzle of olive oil. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, but they were more like open-faced boiled eggs since the yolks were completely hard instead of runny. The café de olla had a nice flavor, but it was much sweeter than expected. I think it would be better if they served it unsweetened (or lightly sweetened) and let customers adjust the sugar to their own taste. I really wanted to enjoy this place because the ambiance is so charming, but the food just didn't live up to the experience.

I know that italian meats are cured and rely on salt, but this was a lot saltier than I've had. I almost preferred them adding less prosciutto to my crepe because the salt was a bit overwhelming. Maybe just a personal preference thing, but their pesto sauce has an emphasis on the basil leaves rather than pine nuts and garlic IMO, which I would've preferred.
