As a pug mom myself, I couldn't help but smile at all the adorable ways Frenchies were incorporated within the shop's atmosphere. The service was really incredible. The two bobaristas were exceptionally kind and welcoming. They were quick with making my drink and even filled up my Stanley tumbler with water. I ordered the "Salted Vietnamese Coffee" and am so happy I did. The actual drink itself is one of the most delicious, creamy, flavorful Vietnamese coffees I've ever had. I highly recommend trying this drink out if you're on a hunt for a good Vietnamese coffee in the Costa Mesa and Newport area. Parking lot is located behind the shop. I honestly can't imagine how sweet it would be at 100%. The boba was a little too chewy for my preference, and I've definitely had better elsewhere. The drink was reasonably priced at $5.75, so it didn't feel overpriced. One thing I appreciated was that there is parking behind the building near the back entrance, which made it easy to get in and out. They also have a few small two-person tables inside. I was able to grab a seat, enjoy my milk tea, and spend some time reading my book while I was there. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but it wasn't memorable enough for me to come back. FOOD Japanese Brown Rice Milk Tea This was my girlfriend's drink but I had a sip and it's not bad! Definitely a different take on milk tea but I would say why not give it a try if you're deciding on it! Brown Sugar Latte I'm a sucker for brown sugar but yes I did enjoy this drink and wouldn't mind ordering it again! I believe it's a crowd-favorite as well! Matcha Cream Croffle First off. Croffle = Croissant + Waffle. It's an interesting fusion that I don't think I've ever seen around but we had the Matcha Cream Croffle and wow that was pretty darn good! We had it for to-go so it wasn't as fresh but I can imagine how it would taste if you were to eat it there! Highly recommend trying it out if you're thinking about hanging out in the shop! Cute little boba shop my boyfriend found on Yelp as we were in the area. The gps directed us to the back side of the building, which is where the parking is. If you are traveling on food you an enter in the front, which is facing the Main Street. They have a variety of drinks to choose from. We ordered thru the self ordering kiosk. Everything is there. I like how it gives you the option for size of drink, ice level, sweetness level and topping you want. I ordered the jasmine brown rice milk tea with boba and my boyfriend got the Vietnamese coffee with coffee jelly. I do wish there was an option to control your toppings (example: easy boba, regular boba, extra boba) Because when I got my drink it was full of boba (not a bad thing for someone who likes a lot of boba in their drink). It's located across from the Triangle, so it can get busy depending on the time of day. The service is always great when you go. The workers are friendly, but they also have a self-order kiosk. It's always empty when I go, so it's pretty quiet and there's a lot of tables to sit at. When I walked in, the employee came right to the cashier to take my order, but I saw the self order tablet and sheepishly told her I was going to order there since I wasn't too sure what to get yet. I had ordered the brown sugar boba milk latte?and the signature milk tea with boba. They only had enough boba for one drink, so the brown sugar would get it since it requires the boba for the drink. She told me it would take 7 minutes for the next boba batch to be ready which I was more than happy to wait for. I really enjoyed my drinks, but what I enjoyed more was the fresh boba! The fresh boba was soft and chewy and so warm and sweet. The last batch of boba wasn't bad, but it wasn't the same as the new batch which is to be expected honestly. I'm also wondering if it just tasted differently because the drinks were also different. Regardless, I still was happy with both drinks and very happy with how kind and hard working the employees are here. As I was sitting it felt very comforting and calm inside. It was very clean and I liked that air flow was coming through. I was very relaxed just sitting there-seems like a great place to chat with a friend or have some alone time with a yummy drink. This location is definitely on the smaller end, and I will say it does have limited seating and space available. Super small boba shop off of W 19th St coming from the ever-busy 55 Freeway/Newport Blvd. It looked like there was very minimal parking available in the shared lot behind the building, but we just walked over from where we got lunch a couple of blocks away. I think this Bobapop only recently opened, and it was evident from how quickly the two workers were doing everything. However, they were patient when taking our orders. They also graciously accomodated my request to correct one of my drinks, which was supposed to be full-sweet Flower Green Milk Tea that tasted unsweetened. After I got my fixed-up drink, I was happy with how satisfying the lightness of the green tea with creamer was on a hot day. My other drink was a Sea Salt Vietnamese Coffee, and I was slightly disappointed in this one. Main reason why was because the sea salt topping was too salty and overpowered the coffee, which surprisingly wasn't that sweet for a Viet coffee. After swirling the creamy sea salt foam into the drink, it still tasted a bit too "cheesy," so I added some whole milk at home to offset the tartness. About three tiny tables and one bench were available for indoor seating, with no visible outdoor seating. Due to this location's limited seating and compact size, it didn't really feel welcoming for studying, working, or hanging out. It seemed more like a grab-and-go place. I'll give them credit for running the shop with great effort during their first few months of opening, but I believe the consistency of flavors and drink-making could be improved. read more
