I had came for the Salmon Lox , I guess they don't have it anymore I was a little bummed, I decided to go with the chicken and waffles instead and my friend went with the strawberry and Nutella. I would give it 3.5/5. It was a bit on the sweeter side for me. The chicken and waffles 3/5- it was okay but not worth what it cost. The servings are a good shareable size. Service was quick and friendly staff. Plenty of seating areas.

Best waffle & fried chicken. What a great combination with some syrup. Been here many times before back in college yrs and it was still the same taste, good & friendly services. Only outdoor seatings with good vibe. Located right on the corner and next to Chapman University so lots of college folks plus in the heart of the Orange historical plaza. It can be busy anytime of the day so come early and parking is good since all are street parking (some metered & time restrictions).

I had a really nice experience at Brixie in the city of Orange, right in front of Chapman University, on the corner of a busy intersection. I visited on a Sunday evening, and it wasn't too busy. They do have a small parking space, though I didn't use it, so I'm not sure how hectic it gets. What stood out was the staff. they greeted me right on the street and took my order outside, inviting people to come check out their menu. I tried their most popular crispy chicken sandwich, while it was decent, it was a bit ordinary for the price. But the real highlight was the Nutella smoothie. it was absolutely delicious, definitely a 5 out of 5. The restroom was okay. There is just one, gender-neutral, in the back. The vibe is really nice: modern and open, especially sitting in their patio area where you can watch the street. The tables were a bit uneven, but overall, it's a great spot, and I'd come back again if I'm in the area.

I was completely caught my surprise! This sidewalk restaurant really was a cozy warm spot for delicious chicken, and filling waffles! When we arrived a young man greeted us from the front of the serving window, took our order then told us to sit anywhere, and they would bring the food. It was a chilly night in town, but the warmers were on, and it was quite comfortable. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy the open area, look at the neightbourhood while waiting for the food. When it arrived, it smelled amazing! The small bottle of maple syrup was more than enough for the entire dish, and I was REAL maple syrup. The waffles are crispy, they kinda had a chip like texture for the exterior and were more dense than most other waffles. I really enjoy this waffle recipe. The tenders were also on the same level of incredibleness as the waffles. These were big tenders, and the coating was so well flavoured and was crispy till the end. I wish I had room in my stomach for a second plate, this was just so incredibly delicious, I would move into this hood just to eat this more regularly.

***Late Post*** Visited 01-07-26 around 7p on a Wednesday night. Food was good but just not as good as my first experience at the USC Village location. The associates outside working were welcoming, nice and professional. Service was great. Sat down to eat. I did enjoy the outdoor patio and dining areas. The vibes were on point. Definitely a great spot for young people to hang out and chill. I could see myself going back if I'm ever in the area or if I'm just in the mood to take a drive to grab my usual.

I'm from NorCal, but I've been here before many many years ago, but this review will be for last week. I was in town for a wedding and was hungry for some lunch stuck in the hotel. I was scrolling DoorDash and saw Bruxie and all the good memories of fried chicken came back to me. I didn't want anything too heavy, cause again, wedding so I elected for the chicken tenders and fries. OMG the hot spicy tenders was soooo crispy and juicy with a hint of spice that stays on your lips. I dunked it in their house made ranch with fries on the side. Perfection. The chicken was legit the juiciest tenders I probably ever had. I gotta try some of the other items next time.

I am a fan! Bruxie, please never change, you are the perfect cheat meal! Came here with my family over the weekend for dinner, upon my daughter's request. Fried chicken. Waffles. And even a side of healthy salad. What more can you ask for? Ok, so the food was AMAZING. My husband's waffle may have been the best waffle I've ever tasted. My daughter's waffle fries were also so good. What makes their food so tasty is that they are fried to a perfect crisp. Even my salad tasted so fresh and tasty. The staff there were all so friendly. And I loved dining in their patio as well. I have a feeling we will be dining at Bruxie a lot more. Although I am a pretty healthy eater, I can never say no to some good friend chicken (and waffles).

Nostalgia! When we lived here in Orange, Bruxie is our favorite spot to eat at. We love the crunchy waffle and fillings. Our to go is the Bruxie burger and the Original chicken. For dessert, we always go for the cream brulee. It taste as good as it was 8+ years ago. We have taken so many family members and friends because that is how much we love this place. When in town, we always end up eating here. Love Bruxie and the staff are so nice!

Went there to have green eggs, and ham hadn't been there in a while no longer on the menu tried one of their hamburgers over the top. One of the best hamburgers I ever had in a long time almost as good as the smoked burger from Blakes just different grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, and their sauce and cheddar cheese phenomenal inhaled it and they sent me and my brother the shakes first and I took pictures of the milkshakes, which were phenomenal as well from custard frozen custard just ridiculously rich tasty chocolate, very European very ice cream shop milkshake #PhenomenalMeal

First time here for the kids, but they loved it! Who doesn't love some quality chicken and waffles! :) As always, the service was top shelf! They bring the food to you, and your drink will never stay empty for long - and they're always friendly and accommodating. This is an outdoor location, sun during the day and cool at night, but it's a wonderful ambiance, and there's plenty of lighting and a great vibe for conversation.

Breakfast Burrito and Creme Brulee with Strawberries.

Crazy that I haven't reviewed this place despite eating here countless times in the past. But all that is to be rectified by this review summarizing my most recent visit here. I was immediately helped on a Monday morning and found ample seating for my party of two. I was really excited to have their newly introduced breakfast burrito and it did not disappoint. The Chipotle mayo and spiced tots really made it complete with the chicken. While it may not be as large as most breakfast burritos I've had, this still holds its own as Bruxie truly does it in their own way. I also had the Creme Brulee & Strawberry Waffles and it made me Creme my Brulee because of how good it always is. This would be a solid recommendation for anybody new to the establishment. The outdoor seating is always perfect for a sunny morning. The cleanliness of the environment can be hit and miss since it's always outside, though it has never been outright dirty on my visits. But untidy tables won't stop me from tasting the sweet goodness that is Bruxie.

Bruxies continues to be a disappointment. They changed the menu and stopped serving the "burgers" in waffles. The wait is long and the staff doesn't take orders right. It went from a thick piece of burger meat to paper thin. Now you have to ask if they can put meat on the waffle. I wouldn't return to this place. Overpriced, horrible menu, wait time and horrible staff. The owner replied asked why I didn't order the burger the old way with the waffle. I did ask to substitute it in the waffle. As I said horrible service if they didn't mention it and the owner is commenting that.

Reuben was kind enough to give me a free strawberry milkshake. That made my night good after a jog and a tour guide shift I had to do.

Going out on a limb and guessing no gluten free anything?

Hi Jody- we have some great grilled chicken and a grilled chicken salad you’d love. The team can walk you through the options.

    Bruxie still do Wednesday Specials?

Hi. We are trying our best to keep our daily prices as low as possible in the middle of the unprecedented price increases we are seeing from our vendors. In doing so, we are just offering the best prices we can all of the time. Thanks for asking.

What type of oil do you fried the chicken?

    Canola oil.

Is any of the fried chicken available without Rosemary?

Hi. Thanks for your question. Sure, you can ask for it to be cooked without the seasoned flour and just regular flour. Due to our marinating process, the chick will still be flavorful but without rosemary.

Hi do you guys deliver to arizona?

Yes if you pay a good sum for the delivery freshness not guaranteed tho hehe

Glad to see them back but is there any reason why they closed for 6 months?

In March of 2020, all Bruxie locations in SoCal closed due to CV-19. In early October 2020, two Bruxie locations reopened: Old Town Orange on Glassell, and Brea on Birch St. As of this report on 11/24/2020, only these two locations have reopened.

Which Bruxie can I still get the pastrami waffle sandwich?

The Orange location is back open and has the Hot Pastrami and Swiss on the menu. Such a great sandwich.

Hi is the dining area open, or just take out? Thanks.

As of 6/26 they are closed. All locations are temporarily closed per their website.

Do they still serve the buffalo blue? I don't see it on their online menu.

We got two hook and ladder subs, which is Firehouses' classic go-to sandwich: Turkey, honey ham, and Monterey Jack cheese melted with the basics: lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, and deli mustard with a pickle spear on the side. While I was grateful that the store was able to substitute my ham for double turkey, I was actually upset, but I was unable to add any of the other add-ons to the sub (they said this wasn't allowed). We got our subs, I could not believe that I just paid almost $15 for what look like two kids size subs with barely anything in them. And that is what the coupon, mind you. Normally this would've costed almost $30 and then today's world, that's just insane . Service is good, it was a bit quiet there, clean restaurant. The self service, pre-made lunch bentos, sandos and sushi area is fine, but once you need assistance from a worker, it starts getting ridic. How so? You speak to whomever is attempting to assist you OVER and UNDER a twenty-four year old counter area that holds the pastries and/or through a tiny hole in the cabinets. You can hardly make eye contact with the person, because all the pastry is in between where you are standing and where they are standing. Some people are tall, some short, but regardless, there is NO WAY to have a conversation with them. They are trying to see what exactly you are possibly pointing to in the case, but as noted, you're talking thru a case of pastry. This is also true at the Fountain Valley location, where they only have a very small counter to check out with many people standing in line trying to have someone collect their order from the back. Maybe also ask WHY there is never any KINAKO donuts? I was there at 11 am and I got THE LAST ONE! If these are so popular, why don't you make enough to sell throughout the day? Every other time I've been here, you were already SOLD OUT! SMH HAS ANYONE HERE SEEN THE SELF SERVICE process at 85 degrees? All their pastry is individually wrapped and you calmly walk through the SELF SERVICE pastry area with a tray and tongs to help yourself. If you'd like to pass the person in front of you, it's easy and doable because there is plenty of room and it doesn't make anyone feel like you are taking "cuts". Once you get to the end, the cashier totals up your tray and puts it in a bag or box for you. Done & Done. Let me reiterate that your pastry and food are all above par and I know you've been in business since 2002 and let me commend you for 24 years of service, but it's time to CHANGE IT UP to a more user friendly process. It's not appealing to anyone in this busy day and age that there is a line out the door, ONLY BECAUSE THE PROCESS INSIDE NEEDS HELP! It's also more sanitary that the pastry and breads are wrapped ahead of time as I saw a fly inside the case today. Ugh.
