I came to Bobaland in West Covina expecting good drinks, but honestly... the seasoned fries completely stole the show. Let's start with the obvious, the fries. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and coated in this perfectly balanced seasoning that hits savory, slightly salty, and just a little addictive. You know those fries you keep reaching for even when you're full? Yeah, those. I'd come back for these alone. The drinks were solid too, refreshing and nicely made, with a good variety to choose from. But if I'm being real, I barely paid attention once those fries hit the table. The vibe inside is chill and a great spot to hang out with friends. It's very small though with maybe three tables inside and a few chairs against the wall to sit in while you wait for your order. Not a big place so don't expect to fit with a stroller or anything like that lol. Service is usually quick, and everything comes out fresh. However, I have even there at times when it's busy and it can take up to 20 min to get your order so if you're in a hurry call and find out if you're going during their busy hours. Bottom line: come for the boba, but DO NOT skip the seasoned fries. That's the real star here.

This has to be one of the best boba places in town. Although I don't get actual boba I have before and it's really good. But i decided to try something different and got the strawberry swirl and it was delicious. So creamy and so perfectly sweet. The popcorn chicken is our favorite and def our go to for a snack. The season fries are delicious. They have a sweet and salty taste to them. My son isn't a big fan so I get him regular fries and he tears it up. Everyone there is so sweet. The place has a little area to eat with a few tables so we like to sit inside and enjoy. I love this place. Definitely our go to and our favorite spot. 100000 recommend!

I ordered the Avocano ($7.95) at Bobaland (West Covina). The first sip tastes of finely crushed ice. The second sip tastes of soft, sweet avocado. The third sip tastes of supple, gentle, sweetened jellies. The Avocano is a pleasant drink that's creamy and cold with a whopping portion of fresh & sweet mashed avocado. The effort and careful creation of this beverage is visible and appreciated. I arrived at Bobaland (West Covina) on Wednesday (around 6:52PM). The location is difficult to find because it's small and plain. Thankfully, there's plenty of parking, and Bobaland (West Covina) is walking distance from the Regal Edwards Movie Theater. Staff is functional. Staff works hard, and staff are terse and focused. This hidden location is busy with high customer flow and phone call orders. I ordered the Avocano ($7.95). The drink was completed in eight minutes and 33 seconds. As mentioned, I genuinely enjoyed my Avocano. It contained good quality ingredients, and it felt fresh. The portion felt reasonable, and it quenched my thirst. The drink was not too sweet; rather, its flavors felt well-intentioned and properly measured. Unlike gimmick locations that skimp, Bobaland (West Covina) felt well-composed and high-quality. Concerning ambiance, Bobaland (West Covina) is extremely ugly. This place is the living embodiment of "don't judge a book by its cover." The walls have a nauseating haunted house yellow color; the furniture is plastic and uncomfortable; and its crevices are brown and harshly scuffed. Honestly, its ugly design is either very dated or it's intentional so it can dissuade any customers from lingering. Bobaland (West Covina) is also very small and tight. It's cramped, and no music plays. There's just awkward silence. I also dislike how they have this one tiny trashcan with flaps which forces you to always touch its dingy top. On the positive side, the location is surprisingly well-ventilated. Its air smelled clean despite the strange strands of hairs underneath a few plastic tables. Also, the place offers many electric wall sockets (despite several of those sockets looking strangely brown and crusty). It even has wifi internet and password. To its credit, the one gender neutral restroom (for customers) was also very clean. Overall, I do recommend Bobaland (West Covina). Its appearance might be plain, cramped, and putrid; however, there's sincere care and love laced within those drinks. This local hidden gem is popular for good reason. 4.5 out of 5

I have to come back here! The flavors are amazing and the staff is so nice! They know how to deal with difficult customers (I watched it happen) and they fully understand what customers want! The shop is so cute and there's a tv menu for people to look at before they get in line IF NEEDED! The chairs are set up and it's colorful and very nice! We came here after the bar flooded so not only are they open late but they save the night! We had a group of friends that went to Bobaland and it was a great way to end the night for all of us! We got to sit there and talk and enjoy our drinks together! Thank you Bobaland for a great time and great drinks!

Came by here for a tea fix. It was a bit hard to find since the store front is small, but look for the bright yellow wall! There are not a lot of seats here (seating for maybe 10) and it's a very narrow shop, so it's more of a takeaway place. Honestly if you are claustrophobic, you might be uncomfortable spending a long time here. I picked up a couple drinks: * Mango Swirl with boba * Lychee green tea with crystal boba - I liked that the drink included a couple actual Lychee fruits in it! The teas we tried were good! Good level of sweetness, although I requested the green tea at 75% for the hubby since most of the time, most places are on the sweeter side. He said next time he'll get it with no adjustments since it was not that sweet. Decor here is cute, I like their cartoon llama theme.

cute boba shop next to my go-to nail salon! the drinks my kids and i tried were pretty good. thai tea - perfect sweetness mango yogurt - tasty and filling house brown sugar milk tea - good strawberry swirl - mehhh this spot has a good variety of drinks and snacks. the popcorn chicken is a must try! it's not spicy but has a good seasoning. also got the bubble waffle which was not as airy as i'm used to but edible. probs won't order that again.

Poor service. Staff was laughing when I complained about being late. Should in order a hour in advance?

I really enjoy Bobaland's drinks. Their drinks are well made and don't need any substitutions to make it taste good. My go to is their brown sugar fresh milk boba with cheese cream. The service is fast and the workers are friendly. The ambiance is nice, cute and modern. There are a decent amount of tables inside or chairs near the hallway while you wait for your drink. I highly recommend the caramel boba! Plenty of parking in their parking lot.

This is another go-to boba shop on my list. Found this shop when I craved for boba at late night but all those ones I usually go already closed. Didn't know that its so close to my house. Love their ceylon milk tea with tiramisu and jasmine milk tea with cream brulee. Other drinks are kinda too sweet for me but you can always ask them to adjust sugar level. read more

PARKING Located right across the theatre, there is plenty of parking in the parking lot. INTERIOR/ EXTERIOR Small little shop. Couple of tables to chill and a bench for the to-go orders. It's never too busy when we stop by. Cute shelves of little creature decor when you walk in. MENU Their drinks are on the sweet side even with less sugar. However, once in awhile. I'm a huge fan of their Green Tea Milk Tea which is made with matcha powder! Big plus is their prices are affordable compared to the "high end" boba shops around these days. SERVICE I believe it's owned by a Vietnamese family. They get the drinks out pretty quick. They also take credit card but there's a charge if its under $10. read more

Plenty of parking and probably one of the few spots open in this area at 9pm on a Saturday! Got the lala matcha. It was a good omomo dupe for me! Stronger on the matcha than cream. I'd go here again. Drinks came out quickly. read more

Drinks are really good but the new kid either has to go or be trained better. I've gone a few times and the two times that he's made my drinks either it's a wrong drink (which I was indifferent about since I wanted to try it either way) or has no flavor. I cringe when I see him there cuz I hope that my drink is good and or made by another person. read more

I know about this place after seeing their grand opening post on Facebook. I was so eager to give it a try, but it turned out to be a very "hairy" experience. Why? I felt something hairy and itchy in my mouth in my first sip, but didn't know what it was. Then I got something stuck in my throat and I had to cough really hard to get it out. It turned out to be the mango hairs (if you eat overripe mango, you will see the mango hairs attached close to the seed). I then had to drink very carefully and slowly and used my lip and teeth to filter these out. But I gave up after 3 sips. I used a mesh strainer to filter the whole cup out and there are a lot of mango hairs and also black tiny things (I don't know if that came from the mango seed or what). I don't know what will happen if little kids drink this. They might have to go to emergency. I like it very much that they use real fruits to make their drink, but please use selective ones and filter out what may become dangerous for consumers. read more

Tiny place, but perfect for a late night Boba fix! My boyfriend had the crème brûlée Thai tea, and I had the green milk tea (jasmine tea) both with egg custard pudding. Wow! The tea was great quality, and they were both just delicious!! We will definitely be back this is our new local spot! Also, the workers were very kind & informative!! Huge plus! read more

This is just based off the thai tea crème brulee drink and their seasoned fries delivered through ubereats. The drink was sweet in a good way! The caramel boba is also very sweet in itself so, if you don't have a sweet tooth try to specify your sweet level and probably pass on the caramel boba. The fries were seasoned well, not too salty. Will definitely get the thai tea crème brulee drink again. read more

Bomb boba. In Covina!! The tea was like "sun tea" but with your typical bubble or boba tea flair ... Absolutely delicious and apparently they have been around for years ... They got this huge selection of candy boba or cereal boba which we have to come back and try. This place also offers a delicious wide variety menu even authentic musubis !!! ( Gosh how do u spell it) We got the popcorn chicken which was so delish!! Def coming back to enjoy more! You got to check it out!! read more

We were kind of craving boba tea after having just finished eating at Shabuya, but we wanted to go to a different boba tea location instead of going to the usual. And Bobaland was one of those locations that actually showed up on my notifications as a hot new business. The location itself is really cute, but small. The most you could seat inside is around 10 people, but there is a table outside for two more. So it will be one of those locations if you're just needing a quick boba tea run. And it is a family business for the most part, so don't be surprised about the two kids or teens helping the mom out by running the register and making your drinks for you. I honestly think it's cute that they're helping around and learning the ropes, 'cause that's going to get them far in life. In regards to the reviews about the kids or teens helping their parents out, please cut them some slack. I was also raised in a family mailing business and I definitely learned more then the value of money. I learned about moral and ethics, so I wouldn't be surprised that these kids or teens turn out to be valuable samaritans to society. Sorry, kind of strayed away from the actual review for a few moments. And the drinks feel like they're made from scratch. I don't know what base they use for most of their milk teas, but it is definitely fresh for sure. I really did enjoy my Salt Sea Milk Tea and my boyfriend enjoyed his Strawberry Pineapple Slush. I want to thank the family for making our drinks and I hope your business flourishes. read more

We just had ramen and this was close by so we decided to visit and grab some boba. I rated 4/5 just because the boba was too small and mushy. We tried to take a bite of the boba but it would just dissolve. The prices were reasonable and they have a check in to get a large size no charge :-) The teas were flavorful. This is a new boba place that's pretty good! The prices are cheap and the drinks are good as well. It honestly doesn't get this cheap for boba anymore. Milk teas are around $2.50 and add on are only about 50 cents, so your drink comes out to around $3. I had the Thai milk tea and I enjoyed it! The strong Thai tea flavor came through very well. There is also a yelp check in for a free upgrade, which I highly recommend taking advantage of. Parking is super easy. The place itself is quite small with only about 2 or 3 tables and a small couch. I would definitely come here again. read more

It's such a tiny place. When I first wanted to try this place, I missed it several times because I couldn't see the sign. This place has solid drinks, with some of the best prices in the area. It's not fancy, but I really just enjoy simple drinks. It's great that you can ask to adjust the sweetness, since I don't like drinks that are too sweet. Stopped in because we have this boba obsession lately, i have been spending all my monies on boba LOL. Been trying all the different places in the area. This one is okay. Flavors were good, vietnamese coffee not strong enough for my coffee-addicted self. The teas are very light on flavor. If you like that, then this would be a good place for you. I didnt try any boba in my drinks this time so I can't comment on that. I'd come back and try a different drink. read more

Came here with some friends on a Monday evening. It's in a pretty compact spot. Nice and cozy I suppose. Pretty simple aesthetic inside. Upon scanning their menu/drinks, they had a variety-- milk teas, smoothies, slushies, etc. I got the Taro slushie. It was good. Overall it looks like this place is another good boba hang-out spot in West Covina. I don't mind coming back here again to grab a nice boba drink and hangout with friends. read more

I ordered twice through doordash and posmate with large amount of drinks. Twice missing drinks, called the boba shop they asked to go pick up. This place was soooo AFFORDABLE. I got the Black Milk Tea w/ Boba & Spicy Seasoned Fries and the total came out to less than $6!! That's crazy. The fries were crunchy & had a kick of spice. The milk tea was ok but their boba was super chewy and tasted new. If you want a bang for your buck, this is the place to be! read more

My wife and I were in the area for a date night and were just walking around and found this place. I asked what their strongest tea was and was recommended ceylon tea. Got that in a milk tea with boba...was really good and strong. The wifey got a Thai green tea, which was also good. read more

Recently discovered this cute little boba shop near me. If you're ever in the area and need to satisfy a boba craving, definitely stop by! I know I'll be a regular So far I've tried the Bobaland milk tea and Thai tea, both with boba. The Thai tea was creamy and delicious! I would ask for a little less sugar next time, but the boba was cooked perfectly: soft chewy texture. You'd be surprised by the amount of boba places that don't know how to cook them. The Bobaland milk tea was tasty flavor-wise, but too sweet for me. Pros: Decent location as it's near the budget friendly movie theater and other good eateries. Ample FREE parking. Friendly service. Superrrr affordable (a large was under $3). GOOD boba! Cons: Drinks tend to be on the sweet side. But they're willing to customize upon request! read more

I wouldn't say I'm a boba fanatic, however, finding a good spot is a must and this place hits the spot. A tiny little "hole in the wall" spot that made its presence known for its drinks and vibe. Personally I've only tried the Crème Thai tea in the times I've gone but I get it repeatedly for a reason. I'm sure they're other drinks are just as good but overall such a cute place and definitely worth it. read more

Little boba joint. No cool or unique names pretty average spot. Also no incentives or special offers maybe spice it up a little. Nice logo tho and the tiger tea (off menu) was good. Strawberry milk tea wasn't as good. read more

This is a small mom and pop boba place that just opened. The inside is fairly small but there are seats and a small couch available. I got a Jasmine Milk Tea that wasn't as sweet as I would like it to be, but maybe this is a blessing in disguise since I shouldn't really have that much sugar anyways, haha. The jasmine tea was surprisingly not lacking in the jasmine flavor, it had the perfect tea and milky ratio.The boba is chewy and soft, although I wish the boba was a little sweeter. My drink also came out to $3.60 which isn't pricey at all compared to many other shops. Definitely recommend trying this place out if you're looking for something cheap and a quick refresher. read more

Been to this location twice. It's the perfect place to stop on my way out of LA. Hidden gem of a boba place. The boba is consistently great. Smaller boba with a great texture, delicious tea. Great service! Store and bathroom are both super clean. Only downside is the sign is hard to see if you haven't been there before. Parking is easy. read more

First and last time coming here. I literally just bought a vanilla milk tea boba few minutes ago. It was sooo sweet I was dehydrated. It tasted like melted vanilla ice cream in a cup. There was so much sugar in there that the boba floated to the top. I really needed my boba fix so I took a quarter of the milk tea (not even half cos it was loaded with sugar) and mixed it with almond milk I had at home. read more

But I might've loved the waffle sticks more. It's basically cake on a stick with all your favorite toppings. And they even have the viral Dubai chewy cookie here too! We would order a half caramel half vanilla shake but when we went in today we asked one of the new workers Gisselle if she could make it and immediately was rude and stated "yeah we're not allow to make that" when we said it's something we've never had a problem ordering before she became more aggressive and rude stating the other people can make it but she's not. Sad to say after over a decade of supporting this business we will not be returning due to this experience.

They put the order next to each other and by the time the number is "ready for pick-up" on the screen, we went to ask them and my drink still wasn't ready. They can't even find my ticket and had to asked me to wait another 5 minutes. After waiting for 5 more minutes, it was shift change and it was someone else calling out the number and I have to ask them again because my drink is now just sitting there on the counter. Going from a large for $7.55 to a small for $10 is absolutely crazy and makes no sense from a customer perspective. What's even worse is that the quality seems to have gone down at the same time. The drink is smaller, doesn't taste as good as it used to, and costs significantly more. If you're going to raise prices that dramatically, the quality should at least stay the same or improve not get worse. I used to enjoy coming here, but it's hard to justify paying nearly $10 for a drink that's smaller and lower quality than before. Very disappointing and feels like a poor way to treat loyal customers.

A relative new place. I got the Rose Milk Tea with Boba and I thought it was superb, I can really taste and smell the rose aroma, the boba was chewy and nice and slightly sweetened. Service was nice and best of all, the price here for Boba is pretty cheap. The point is, for a cheap price, the quality did not suffer. Will definitely come back here when I am on Winter Break. read more

This place is so bright you can't miss it. It is right behind Edward's and it's the perfect boba fix after the movies!! I got creme brulee Thai tea 50% sweet with boba. It is so chewy and has lots of flavor!! I love Thai tea and the creme brulee adds the extra sweetness. Will be coming back again read more
