    Pork chops Morro rice plantains

First time here so we tried Cuban and Palomilla steak sandwiches, Picadillo w/yellow rice black beans and plantains and Pork chops w/ Moro rice and plantains and chicken soup. Everything was fantastic, though the Picadillo didn't have green olives which I really like in it. BTW, all of this and cafe while I waited was only $40! If you are not accustomed to Spanish chicken soup be careful of bones, but it really is properly good soup because of them. Great West Tampa neighborhood place! Trust the fat man on food, you will not regret going in here!

This place is a true hidden gem! I was tipped off to this restaurant from a coworker and decided to check it out because I was working in the area. It's a little hard to find, located next to a car wash on the corner of Armenia and Colombus, and the exterior is a little rough around the edges, but the friendly service and food make up for it. When I entered, I was greeted by the owners wife (Mrs Bobby? Lol). She told me how all the sandwiches are made to order so the meat, chicken and fish are all cooked fresh. She even let me know that Bobby is actually the nephew of the owner of West Tampa Sandwich Shop, giving the place instant local cred. I ended up ordering the grilled chicken sandwich with a cafe con leche and both were awesome. The chicken sandwich was big and delicious, a great value for around $6 and the cafe con leche was like crack lol. I definitely plan on returning in the future when I'm in the area. At $3.50 for a Cuban or $6 for a palomilla steak sandwich, this place combines good flavor with value!

We chose cake slices as there are many options and everyone had a favorite. The cakes give me a homestyle feel. Like homemade cake and icing. Gourmet southern goodness. The cakes are slathered with lots of icing, which I mostly removed because I like my cake without. Which to me tells me how good the cake is that it can stand alone without the frosting. Hummingbird, lemon, chocolate, and carrot cakes reign supreme. The frosting on the chocolate cake makes the cake, it's fantastic. We also tried the massive cinnamon rolls which are 5 stars! I will definitely be visiting Wright's for cakes for the next party. It's sure to be a party favorite! And excited to get back to try some sandwiches, the Alpine cake, and Chill Bros icecream!

I've had it for my 21st Birthday (2019) and my college graduation (2020) so far. Their chocolate cake is my FAVORITE cake of all time, and their red velvet and alpine is not to be slept on. There's a lot of seating and parking available as well. It's bright and comfortable, perfect for coming with a large group as well.

Overall I've been going to Potbelly since 2002 starting back in Chicago. See the attached picture and tell me if you think this is acceptable Mac and Cheese? Beyond it being runny, the noddles were not cooked. Don't serve this. I'd rather hear, sir it'll be another 20 minutes before the Mac and Cheese is ready. You think trying to serve this to a 3 year old is acceptable? I had the Italian which was fine so no complaints there. They try to make amends by offering a cookie and gave me a coupon for a free sandwich or salad. Unfortunately, after my most recent experience, I won't be returning. I stopped in around 3:00 p.m. and was happy to see it wasn't busy. I went to the deli counter, waited for someone to serve me, ordered my chicken salad, grabbed a soda and chips, and headed to the open register. As I walked up, the cashier called another customer over ahead of me. I waited while he spent several minutes deciding whether to pay cash or by card because of the 4% card fee. I continued standing there with my three items, to the point that I actually set them down and debated walking out. Then, instead of helping me, the cashier motioned for an entire family to come to the registereven though I had been standing there waiting before they arrived. After that, she waved over another customer, and I had to wait while a mother and her two teenagers decided which desserts they wanted. Again, I stood there patiently. When it was finally my turn, there was no greeting, no "thank you for waiting," nothing. The first thing I was asked was, "Do you have a pickup order?" I said no. She then motioned for my chicken salad container, saying she needed it. I placed it on the scale and set my other items on the counter. The cashier then asked, "Are you okay?" I simply shook my head because, honestly, I wasn't. Instead of recognizing why I was frustrated, she continued talking, making comments, and escalating the interaction rather than simply ringing me up. At that point, I asked, "Do you want to argue? Do you want me to go back and forth with you?" I then asked who the manager was. She pointed to a woman beside her, who identified herself as the owner. I asked if she could ring me up instead. Even then, the cashier continued making comments. It was only after she continued engaging me that my voice became louder in response. Rather than addressing the repeated comments from her employee or asking what had happened, the owner immediately said, "Do not raise your voice at my employee." That response was disappointing. There was no concern for the customer experience, no apology for repeatedly being skipped in line, and no attempt to resolve the situation. There was also no acknowledgment that the interaction had been escalated by the cashier's continued remarks before I ever raised my voice. The irony is that I have spent a significant amount of money catering from Frankie's Deli over the years because my customers love the food. Good food will bring people in once. Great customer service keeps them coming back. Sadly, this experience ended that relationship for me. There are plenty of places with great food, but respect and customer service matter just as much. One final thought: this is Florida not NY. Hospitality goes a long way. The aggressive, dismissive attitude I experienced isn't what I expect when supporting a local business. I won't be back.

I ordered the steak sandwich, the one with shredded beef, in the large size, and it is indeed a hearty portion. The bread is toasted and crispy, the meat is moist and flavorful. Does the job, though next time I'd probably explore other options on the menu. My friend went with an entrée order, and the portion size is absolutely worth noting. The meat alone looked like enough for two people, and it comes with two sides and bread. Think a big plate of rice or a mountain of fries. The value is unbeatable, easily two meals worth of food at a very affordable price. Definitely on my list to try next visit. One thing to keep in mind: it's a busy place. Around 1pm it was completely packed with the phone ringing nonstop. Just part of the charm of a well-loved spot, but worth knowing if you prefer a quieter lunch. Also, the menu notes a 3.5% credit card fee, so it may be worth bringing cash!
