Pressed Cuban Sandwich - All the way with lettuce & tomato
    Karen V.

I'd give 3.5 stars if I could. The Cuban sandwich was very tasty. The homemade roast pork on the sandwich is delicious. It's a very generous portion, and a very good value. Unfortunately, it was drowning in butter or margarine. I normally would never complain about too much butter. I love butter! This was overkill, and it made the sandwich very greasy, rich, and heavy. It didn't sit well in my stomach. I'd go back and order the same sandwich again, but it would have to be light on the butter spread. It was just A LOT. You don't need that much butter to give it a nice press. Maybe that's why I haven't been back in such a long time. I couldn't remember the reason. I may go back to get a roast pork platter or ropa vieja next time. The prices here are good.

Come in Florida almost after 1 year. Ordered coffee, guava empanada, and pork sandwiches. OMG sooooo delicious. Nothing didn't change. Friendly workers, fast service. Cool atmosphere You can seat and eat if you want. Price stay the same. Thanks

Plantains were just ok. I wouldn't recommend their rice and beans.

Tucked away in a plaza and they have reasonable prices. I ordered a Cuban sandwich, lunch entree (meat and 2 sides plus it came with plantains) and can of soda was $26. Very good portions. The pork was really good but yellow rice and black beans were very very bland. Cuban was large portion but tasted more like pork sandwich instead of a Cuban so I was alittle disappointed. I'd go back and try something different.

Found this place out of luck. Cute and small but the food was great. Service was quick and friendly. However, the best part was the food. Hands down delicious

My wife and I stopped in for lunch and we were very happy we did. My wife had pulled pork with she loved it. Pulled pork was excellent very very well seasoned awesome flavor. The rice was okay. I get that Cuban sandwich at 8.8. is very hard to find a sandwich for the of the sevens much less 8.8. if you want an awesome Cuban sandwich this is definitely the place

This is a hidden Gem! The food is authentic, the Service is impeccable, and the Ambiance is cozy and inviting! I get island fever with the Spanish music, lighting, and the beautiful photographs representing the Cuban Flare! Check it out, you won't be disappointed Local Cafe

I've had a classic Cuban sandwich in a lot of places and this was hands down the very best Cuban I've ever had. The pulled pork was generous and tender and perfect! The whole sandwich was so very delicious. We also found a new favorite- the guava and cheese empanada was amazing! Must try! We wished we would've gotten several of them.

If you don't like cuban food, you will after coming here! Great quality for price, lovely staff, and even better flavor.

I'm still thinking about the Cuban sandwich from here. It was absolutely delicious. I was visiting from California and randomly decided to go here with my group and it was the best decision we made. This had to be the best food item I ate while out there in Tampa. The cashier was super helpful when ordering and recommended this sandwich. I'm extremely grateful I trusted her opinion. I love finding great finds, especially when they're small businesses. Highly recommend.

Nestled within the vibrant streets of Tampa, I stumbled upon a hidden local gem that left me savoring the flavors of an authentic Cuban breakfast. The aroma of a hot Cuban Breakfast Sandwich greeted me as l entered the humble establishment. We had the pleasure of trying Western Cuba sandwich. This delightful creation consisted of a toasted Cuban western omelet sandwich with green peppers, onions, eggs and ham. The combination of the fluffy omelet and the crisp, toasted bread created a symphony of flavors that delighted my taste buds. Accompanying this delectable sandwich was a cup of handcrafted cafe con Leche, a true testament to the artistry of the local baristas. The velvety richness of the coffee, perfectly balanced with the creamy milk, created a harmonious blend that invigorated my senses. In a moment of culinary curiosity, I succumbed to the allure of a guava and cheese empanada. With each bite, the empanada revealed its true magic, as the guava and cheese melted in my mouth. The sweetness of the guava and the creaminess of the cheese danced on my palate, creating a symphony of flavors that I will forever cherish. Regrettably, my eagerness to savor this delectable treat caused me to forget capturing a photograph of its irresistible allure. Don't let the modest exterior fool you; this place is a culinary delight waiting to be discovered. The service was friendly and fast.

Definitely ordered too much food but everything tasted delicious Stopped in with family for lunch and even though it was busy the line was moving quick. The have a lunch plate special for $9-$11 depending on what you get, I got the meat with peppers and onions with rice and beans with a side of plantains.. You'd think I'd stop there but no I also had to try the chicken tamale and for a sweet treat. A guava and cheese pastry. I took bites of everything before tapping out and it was all so good! I even stole a bite of my sisters Cuban which I've had before but still just so good! Great spot in the Brandon area. To my last review, cleanliness is a lot better and I'm happy to see them doing well!

When I first walked in I was like this is a cute store I loved the decoration but the walls needed to be repainted it was peeling. Food tasted so good nothing was undercooked almost as if my mom cooked it herself. We were greeted as soon as we came in and she was patient while we were trying to figure out what we wanted to eat. I would definitely come back!!!!

Overall, this was definitely an excellent discovery even though it's been here awhile. Customer service friendly, courteous and patient, delicious food and great prices! Menus available on-line as well as on table upon entry and satisfies varieties of taste palates. Orders placed at counter for dining-in or take-out. If dining in, food is delivered to your table. Seating is spacious. Also noticed there appears to be another room on inside perhaps for private or larger parties. Parking is plentiful with ramp close to entrance. Ordered a bowl of Caldo Gallego (Spanish bean) soup -- it was delicious. Also ordered the lunch special Pescado a La Rusa which came with black beans and yellow rice (I requested sides of chopped onions & vinegar) - no up charge. The order came with cuban bread and olive butter. Lunch special is a very generous portion Spanish-style whitefish filet, yellow rice complemented by small cups of seasoned black beans (plus onions & vinegar as requested). Leftover portions of bread, fish, black beans and yellow rice placed in take-home two containers and enjoyed for breakfast. My guests each ordered the cuban sandwich (A La Pancha) hot pressed. Both orders were cut in half (thankfully) as each sandwich was large and also quite satisfying. One sandwich was completely devoured, the second guest needed a take-home container for the second half. Bottomline: La Septima is a Brandon gem. The menu, flavorful foods, customer service and comfortable setting, location and costs are very competitive. Other than water, beverage options include Coke products, coffee plus sweet/unsweet tea or Spirits. La Septima is located at 702 W Lumsden Rd in the Via Viva Plaza on the northwest corner of Lumsden Rd and Kings Ave intersection. Special offers also include catering packages for large and small events, parties and various festivities or special occasions. Desserts also available. Hours are Monday - Saturday from 11:00am - 8:00pm; (813) 685-0502

Naida makes some tasty Cuban sandwiches here for a good price. The star of the sandwich is Naida's roast pork. It's well seasoned and it totally makes this sandwich shine. I usually get it with everything, but I keep forgetting that they'll include onions if you ask for it "all the way." It's good with or without it, but I prefer it without. Just keep that in mind and be specific if you don't want onions on your sandwich. Naida also makes the best café con leche. I sometimes go there just for Cuban toast and that awesome coffee. It gives me energy! They have a small hot bar area of daily offerings with some kind of rice and beans. It may change daily. I haven't ordered a platter, but I will one day. They do have a tasty arroz con salchichas side item. My mom used to make it sometimes with those little canned Vienna sausages. Yeah, it's a comfort thing for me. They also make wonderful breakfast sandwiches and ham croquettes. El Cuba Cafe is hidden inside of a Circle K convenience store on Bell Shoals Road. It's directly across the street from Publix at Bloomingdale Square. I know it has Cuba in the name, but their is a lot of Puerto Rican representation here. That may also be why I'm so fond of it. It's also super convenient, and the service is great. I usually drive in the back way to avoid all the construction nearby. There's no dining area. You just order your meal and take it with you. It's a no frills kind of place. A real hidden gem!

In the box (see photo), we bought two each of guava flip (kind of a folded tart or empanada), guava turnover, and guava flip with cream cheese. All of them are delicious! I like the flaky guava turnovers the most even though they didn't survive the transportation across the country in my backpack as well as some of the others. Even though slightly crumbly, still yummy! I also bought butter cookies, sold by the pound. Those are relatively ordinary; I'll skip those in the future. Next time, we are carrying Cuban sandwiches home! I really wish I carried them home. I was having Cuban sandwich withdrawal. This location is older but functional; there isn't seating. Their customers know what they want, and everything moves FAST. If it's your visit (like it was for us), I suggest looking at the menu online to know what to order. The service is friendly, even though I can tell he was a bit exasperated that I didn't just yell out my order and I asked questions. I honestly don't fault him. Busy places have their own pace, and the customers are the ones to keep up. That's perfectly ok.
