Everything about my stay was wonderful. The room was exquisite, the food delicious, the service awesome. I couldn't ask for more!!!

After reviewing many of the comments left by previous vacationers I decided to write a review from a pretty knowledgeable standpoint. I've had the pleasure of visiting, living and vacationing in every major area of Mexico so I've stayed at the very best and the $12 USD rooms lol The check in was very simple and the young lady checking us in was super helpful. Realizing I had a teenager with me she answered the important question upfront and gave her the WiFi password immediately lol I came to Bobby's by the Sea with my Inlaws, wife and my daughters )18 and 3 years old) We ended up with the 2 bedroom each with their own individual bathrooms and shower. There was a full size kitchen and large sitting area and decent TV. The wrap around balcony was worth every single penny. You could look out over the ocean which is about a 250 yard walk from the resort. The rooms were clean, well organized and decorated very nicely. Room service is kinda hit or miss as they tend to knock once or twice and do not come in the room without you opening the door which is actually not a bad thing. The walls are pretty good at blocking out noise from neighbors and the large ocean facing windows are so beautiful to wake up to. There are two pools located in the property which was nice. Both have a jacuzzi and a nice size pool attached. There is also a small cabana area near the ocean view pool with an above ground jacuzzi which is nice but we did not use it so I'm not too sure if it works. There is a small artificial turf area where you can putt around with or hit balls in the ocean with a few left over clubs probably found in an old garage or floating in the ocean lol The restaurant is a decent with enough food on the menu to please my picky family for the 5 days we were there. Most plates ranging from $8-$17 US. There is also a small workout area upstairs above the check in lobby. It has a couple spin bikes, weight rack, a seated bike and a treadmill. I used it every morning around 0600am and had no problem getting in. The bonus was the ocean view up there as well. The Friday/Saturday "loud" music some Yelpers complained of was nothing to bad. There was a decent mix of music and it truly does shut down around 1015-ish pm. Bobby's has potential and is truly closer to a 3 star based on the incomplete feeling you get from walking around the grounds but the great customer service and fact that you can see the ocean bumps it to a 4 Star. The properties on either side are terrible on the eyes but they cant do much about that. If this property is around in another 5-10 years I know I will have been fortunate enough to see how much it has changed from its early days. I will definitely be back soon and will enjoy being a part of the process from here on out. read more

Great spot for a drink, a meal, a party or a breathtaking view... we love coming to Vista Hermosa for all kinds of reasons... breakfast is my favorite menudo & mimosas!!!!! Isidro is one of the hardest working people in Rosarito and the go to guy for all things needed in this fabulous town!!!! He was key in helping me Throw the perfect surprise party complete with Food, drink and a great band!!!! Thanks Isidro, Christa & Pat you guys are 5 star all the way!!!! Super satisfied with bobby's resort. From the staff to the food was a complete 5 star rating. I ask hector to show me the condo villa before making a decision on staying. Soonest I seen the amazing front ocean view I was convinced. Very very family oriented private resort with Top security and very nice Hawaii tiki bar with live musicians playing great songs. Everything was Just perfect. At night there's no annoying noise or wild folks shouting. By 10pm it was crickets. Much thanks to all staff !!! This is the second time I've been to Bobby's, the first being a long time ago. They have been in business a while, and in Mexico that usually means it's pretty good. I don't really recall my last visit as far as taste, so apparently it didn't leave a great impression. We came in on a Saturday night and it was relatively quite. Maybe it was because it was the weekend before Easter. The good thing was that we got sat immediately. I started off with a Margarita and we got a basket of garlic bread. The Margarita was OK, and didn't have much of a kick. The bread was basically and baguette sliced up with butter, garlic and roseay, but overall good. We went with Fettuccini Alfredo and the penne with smoked chicken, mushrooms and olives. The entrees come with a french onion soup or a romaine salad. We went with the soup and again, so far so good. It consisted of broth, onions, and a slice of baguette bread topped with cheese. The meals came out and they had good presentation. However, as far as flavor, it was pretty average. We could be spoiled due to having great Italian option where were from. Therefore, the meal itself did not blow us away. Other than that, they had a nice bar and the service was spot on. Well... just wanted to start by saying I have stayed at many hotels in the Rosarito/ Puerto Nuevo area and Bobby's by the sea is a nice get away from the whole papas&beer frat party scene. It's off the beaten path just far enough to have an intement stay great for families and couples to have a great time. The restaurant/bar had great service, cocktails were stiff and reasonably priced food was good, also there was a good band playing on the weekends. The location of Bobby's is perfect! Really close to Puerto Nuevo and a short Taxi ride to Rosarito. The beach was a little ways away from the hotel very rocky you have to take a short trek to get to some sand which isn't to bad. All in all the rooms where very nice and I will be vacationing here again soon read more

This place is great for people that want to relax. It's quite and close to Rosarito. Definitely not a place for people to be partying all crazy. It's up scale and relaxing. The spa is really nice, and smells great when you walk in. We stayed in the penthouse which had 4 bedrooms and a full kitchen. Every angle of the room had a great beach view!! read more

Overall a nice hotel close enough to the water that you can hear it. The property was well built in its day but you can see the signs of wear and tear but the staff do a good job trying to keep it clean. Rooms are generally nice and tidy. I read a post previously and i was skeptical of this place. Im glad i we went through with staying here cause nothing in that negative post was accurate. I can honestly say that i will never stay anywhere else besides bobbys when visiting the area. First off the manager was 100% professional and even gave us a free upgrade to a 2 room suite because it was 3 of us. The maintenance person and all security personnel were respectful and very helpful when we needed information about the city. The bar tender was really helpful and was very open to conversating and telling us about the city and the best areas to visit. The location was clean, quiet, relaxing and the restaurant and bar areas were inviting and ready to serve at all times. I am looking forward to returning and i highly recommend bobbys to anyone visiting the area. read more

It's always a good time here. Great views of the ocean. Food and drinks just flow. Isidro and his staff are always friendly and quick to help. Rooms could be a bit chilly in winter and no central a/c. Location is close to Puerto Nuevo and parking is safe. Definitely a very peaceful place. read more

We were greeting by friendly staff. Great hospitality and great ambiance. Stone roads line the walkways with a jungle like theme. If you enjoy Shari g space with tall giraffes, dinosaurs and a donkey or two this place is for you. The have yummy margaritas, fresh chips and salsa and to die for authentic food. Had a great experience at Bobby's. The room was fantastic and the staff was very helpful. Every view from the room was great. We had drinks at the bar. The bartender took care of of us and made sure all our requests were addressed. I would recommend the mixed cocktails (Pina Colada and Paloma). Got to spend some time in the pool and jacuzzi. They have two pools with jacuzzis to choose from. One has a view to the beach. The other is nestled in between some suites. They offer private parking which is under security surveillance 24-hours a day. They close the gate around 10ish and only guests are permitted to enter after closure. We are definitely recommending Bobby's to friends and family. read more

I can't say enough about the amazing experience we had at Bobby's. I was nervous about going over the boarder, but it was no problem at all, either way. Our room was AMAZING, it was so big with a nice kitchen, all the utensils, coffee pot, plates, dishes, everything we needed. We enjoyed our coffee on the balcony that overlooked the ocean every morning. We pretty much ate every meal in the bar or restaurant as the food was TO DIE FOR! I have never had such good food at a resort. The variety of food was overwhelming and made it hard to chose what to eat next. Krista set up a driver for us that took us on a full-day tour to the wineries and a bar overlooking the ocean, it was such a beautiful day! Our driver knew the best wineries to visit and took us for the most authentic Mexican lunch. In the evenings at the resort we enjoyed the live bands and jacuzzi. They even served us drinks and food pool side! We also spent a day in Rosarito shopping and enjoying the local scenery. The resort is gated with 24 hour security, and you see the workers all day long cleaning and asking if they can help you in any way. I cannot recommend this resort enough, I truly wish we were still there. We are making plans to take our friends and go back this summer! read more

Bobby's is my home away from home. I stay there 1-2 times per month, and have always felt relaxed, safe and comfortable. I often stay alone, and as a female guest, I appreciate that the security is 24/7, that there is an onsite restaurant with weekend entertainment, which in my experience, ends promptly at 11pm. Perfect. It's not a hotel, so daily maid service should not be expected. The condo's have kitchens, television and fireplaces. They are stocked minimally but I find I can get by, and enjoy meals in the nice light rooms with a great view. The menu in the restaurant does not list many mexican dishes; however, when the servers have asked the chef for mexican food, they've always acommodated. There is always friendly service and there is a great ocean view. I look forward to seeing Isidro, Abel and Cesar every time I visit and the rest of the staff are all responsive, friendly and helpful. read more

Seemed impressive when we arrived but this place is in need of a deep cleaning on every level! The food was ok at the restaurant but the grounds and the condos - yikes! Can't bring myself to sit on any of the furniture and was nervous about the cleanliness of the bed - had to fix our own toilet and the shower - no thanks. Also on the balcony below us are 2 dogs and tons of dog shit, oh yeah and they came to pump the human waste twice while we were trying to relax - only decent thing about that was at least we couldn't smell the dog shit! Feel bad for my friend who booked this place but the pics online and the term "luxury" roped us in! I've stayed at worse places but I think the owners need to take some pride and hose this place down! Let me also add that we did not have hot water either....... read more

I get that when you deal with the public you can't please everyone, but I have to say that in my two encounters with Bobby's, I am nothing but pleased! From the gate guard to the maintenance people, everyone is so helpful and friendly. The premises are extremely clean and well maintained. The restaurant and bar staff are more than accommodating with special requests. They make the best margaritas!! My husband and I stayed in the studio above the bar. Most rooms have ocean views and balconies. I do have to say, if you want a beach, this is not the place. The beach is rocky here. But if you are a surfer, welcome to heaven! The village of Puerto Nuevo is just a short walk, comes in handy (for digesting)after you gorge yourself on lobster! The property and the area feel very safe. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxing getaway without breaking the bank! Kudos to the owners of this property for the staff and maintenance! Top notch! :) read more

I suppose that fair expectations are the key to happiness here. My wife, daughter and I booked accommodations on Booking.com after comparison shopping for lodging in Northern Baja. After all the various fees are calculated, I had 8 days of lodging for about $1,150. I contacted the management to ask about directions and tolls, and the manager, Isidro, answered my question in a timely manner, and, upgraded us from a one bedroom condo to a two bedroom condo. I liked all that. By the way, if you are coming by way of San Diego, have about $4 for two toll roads (2 bucks each). And, those roads are smooth and pristine, with a beautiful view of the ocean. The condo was on the fourth floor, had two comfortable bedrooms, a full kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, and a living room with 40" plasma TV. The TV was connected to DirectTV. Wifi was included, and it works quite good with my cellphone and laptop. Outside was a pool, jacuzzi, lounging chairs, and a great view of the Pacific. They have a little driving range/putting course/bunker on the property. They have a sand pit for volleball, socceer, and basketball(?). The staff is easily accessed if you need something, and they are responsive. At least they are with me, but, I tend to be both patient and polite when visiting foreign countries. As I stated, we came by our own car, but, if there wasn't a car, the lobster village of Puerto Nuevo is about a mile walk. No, it's not a beautiful mile walk, so, don't be like my wife, bring some walking shoes. And, contrary to conventional wisdom, you can walk around and no drug lords will scoup you up and decapitate you. In fact, everyone is pretty friendly. There is an Oxxo (small convenience store) about a half mile away if you need snacks for the fridge. Once you hit Puerto Nuevo village, there will be people aggressively luring you in to eat their lobster. Don't feel guilty if you play one restaurant against another. I had one place offer three small lobsters, beans, rice, tortillas, chips, dip, and a margarita for about $16. Sure, they fried the lobster (not my favorite way to have it cooked), but, when in Rome...They also have little shops selling the same types of souvenirs. The starting price for any item is never the ending price, especially if you are trying to walk away empty handed. There are probably 30 or more restaurants serving seafood/lobster in that tiny village. Plan on eating seafood. Of the bunch tried by me, the very best was Ortegas. It's huge, on the ocean, and great quality and quantity. The beach at Bobby's isn't really a beach. It's nice to look at from the property, but there is no sand. If you want sand, up north a few clicks (and one $2 toll) is Rosarito Beach. You may want to negotiate with a cabby, because it's gonna cost you to park there anyway, and it's a bit hectic. Once you arrive at the beach (try to arrive near the pier), to the south of the pier are quads and horses for rent (really nice horses for $10/30 minute ride). To the north of the pier, latino dance music, clubs, happy hours, lots of service and drinks on the sand, and more horses for rent. Back to Bobby's. Their restaurant is actually upscale compared to what you find in the lobster village of Puerto Nuevo. Like the other places, Bobby's sells lobsters based on their size, but they will steam it, or grill it, if you ask. Heck, they have a pretty diverse menu. Today, I had a huge cheeseburger that I could not finish. On a different day, the daughter had a NY steak, and it was cooked medium rare without any issues (I've been to places outside of the US that ONLY cook beef "well done" no matter what). My wife had a huge lobster meal for $30. That's pretty much the going rate in Puerto Nuevo for a huge lobster anyway...but these guys REALLY know how to prepare food. One of my favorites here is their wedge salad for about $6. It's huge, tasty, has everything I'm used to eating on a wedge, and I could share it. Someone has Bobby's restaurant listed as Italian. They do serve italian food, but it's a fraction of the menu. There are way more shrimp and fish meals on the menu than the ravioli, fettucini, or linguini. Oh, and Bobby's serves a delicious breakfast...even biscuits and gravy. Bobby's has a bar. The bar has many Mexican and American beers, hard alcohol, mixed drinks, and a very capable bar tender. We enjoyed the Mexican coffee for about $5. To conclude, if one wanted to come here and be by the sea with more than adequate comfort, and do it cheap (this means bring food, stock up the fridge, and cook), you could do that. I didn't. It's way more fun going out, enjoying the culture, and spending time with the locals. The last thing I want to emphasize is how safe it was. Bobby's property has a guard at the entrance around the clock. He's not easy to get past. I never worried about my car being broken into or stolen. I never worried about anything. I apologize if I offend ANYONE who attempted to give me good service during my stay... Here it goes, Im not one to exaggerate or sugar coat anything, with that being said, I had credit at this location because of a prior reservation that I had made for my parents anniversary and had booked a condo for 4 people for $250.00/night during a season in which I was told was very popular(because of festivities)... back in February 2015. Upon my parents arrival who had got there a few hours before my boyfriend and myself, my parents called me saying they did not like the place and had gotten a room somewhere else that would be more suitable for themselves and my child. I called the manager there (Isisdro) and asked for a refund which of course I was denied and told that it was because he (Isisdro) would not be able to book that room at such short notice with anyone else... but lets not forget he had said the place was very popular and everyone loved it. Long story short there was a credit issued in the amount of $250.00 for any other time I decided I wanted to to stay there. Finally... in late August I decided I was going to take advantage of the credit and go for a short vacation with my bf and another couple. I swear... upon arriving there, the place reeked like dirty sauna water or boiled eggs or sewer water, to be honest Im not sure how to describe the awful smell coming from that place but I wanted to make the best of it and ignore it for the sake of what I though would be a relaxed vacation. We enter the room and Ill be honest, the condo was very pretty and clean but very very hot. I wasn't aware of the fact that there is no AC in these condos and surely expected there to be considering the fact that its $250.00 a night. That's a lot to pay for a room in mexico, even for a 2 bedrrom condo considering the fact that I can go down the to our regular and beautiful spot down the street and only pay $150.00-$175.00 a night and that is for a villa that fits up to 6 persons. But at Bobbys by the sea, I was charged an additional $40.00 for some made up cleaning fee that wasn't added anywhere at the time I had booked it back in February. So all in all came out to almost $300.00 and no AC? Plain WRONG if you ask me. Specially because the ONLY window/door where a breeze can come in through only brought in the smell of the stench that was lingering outside of the rooms. Next came the pool/Jacuzzi... again, the smell was so bad I couldn't bring myself to stay in the pool for more than 20 minutes... but not only because of the smell... but the way those small over crowded pools looked... as if they hadnt been cleaned in god knows how long. I needed to get out shower, get some drinks in me and hopefully the alcohol did some magic with my eyes and made me look at the place from a better more satisfying angle. The next morning we are ready to get some food and hit the road... but only to find out that my boyfriends work phone (which was left on the floor of the van we were traveling in) was stolen and sold in a near by city. I made my boyfriend leave the phone in the car so that his work wouldn't distract him and I felt like the worse person after I had discovered it was stolen from the van that we left parked in the condominium parking which was suppose to be guarded by the guards there... but of course when I called the manager and complained about the phone and other objects that the owner of the van informed me were missing, I was told that there was no way that his guards allowed that to happen or committed the crime themselves. There was no "let me check the cameras for you" there was no " I apologize for the inconvenience" there was no "allow me to look into it" It was more of an "everyone loves it here" "people have lost thousand dollars here and it was returned once" but no proof that he actually cared to look into what had really happened, Funny thing is I traveled back to mexico to buy back the phone that was stolen from me off this chola lookng lady who had supposedly "bought it" from someone else and came to find out I had seen the ladies husband roaming around the hotel when I had visited Bobbys by the Sea! huuumm..., in short words. It stinks, its overpriced, it looks nicer online, there's no scenery, and chances are... you will get robbed in a very quiet manner and then told you must have lost it when you were drinking! oh yeah, you better believe they watch your every move.... read more

Great low key resort to get in some good R & R. We came there for the weekend and felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves. The staff there is very friendly and most of them speak English. The bar has live music on Saturdays and karaoke on Friday. We booked a facial and massage on Saturday morning. The prices were very fair and the quality of the services were amazing. The resort is in a great location it's a short drive to Puerto Nuevo and 30 minutes from the border. Thanks Bobby's we'll be back soon. read more

Excellent group dining experience! I made reservations for a group of 20 friends for a Saturday night. I arrived and the dining room was set up with tables arranged in a long U shape to accommodate everyone and allow for conversations. By the time everyone arrived our group was around 36. The staff did a fantastic job of adding tables and chairs. The service was stupendous throughout the night. We were provided with the Valentines Day fixed four course menu which included a glass of wine, salad, soup, choice of bacon wrapped filet or salmon, and dulce de leche crepes with vanilla ice cream. The filets were HUGE, fork tender and cooked to personal preference. Everyone raved about the plating of two large crepes that would have served two. The band started playing and many of the group hit the dance floor. The evening was a total success due to the service, tasty food and fun time. We highly recommend Bobby's and plan to go back for daylight dining. Just can't say enough good things about the fantastic job the whole staff did to make the evening so special. read more

If you are looking for a place to stay that has exceptional customer service, this is the place you want to be. Bobbys is a real treat. I have been coming here for many years. I could go on and on about the great customer service, the food, the rooms, the view, but most of all the best thing about this quaint location is that it's not commercialized. I love coming to bobbys and feeling like I am at a home away from home. There's so many great people at this location that will make you feel welcomed. Bobbys is pet friendly, kid friendly and every single room is unique. The location is extremely easy to get to from the toll road. Please take the time to stop in and talk to Able or Isidro and both will take you on a tour of the grounds. This location is extremely close to so many different Avenues( Puerto Nuevo for lobster). And if you do not feel like driving Isidro or able will work out a driver for you. There is a golfing range, a spa, and a gym at the resort. It is nice waking up in the morning and going for a nice stroll to the oxxo which is within steps South of the resort for coffee. All rooms are fully equipped to make coffee (full kitchens). If you are looking for a really nice getaway, bobbys is the place that YOU WANT TO BE!!!!. Don't forget, there are two pools and two different Jacuzzis to choose from and every weekend live bands. You will not go wrong with choosing to stay at this beautiful location. Don't tell your friends because I do not want this place to be overcrowded when I want to come LOL. I had the best time here for New Year's Eve with our friends. We were a group of 30ish married couples and it was perfect for what we were looking for. Let's start from the beginning... 1. Isidro was AMAZING! He went out of his way to make sure that we booked condos next to each other so that we would be close to our friends and was helpful every time I called. He even bought us a round of drinks while we waited for our rooms to be ready and sat at the pool. 2. It is VERY dog friendly. They have a cute little dog park for the pups to run around. There were lots of dogs there but all are on leash. 3. The Condos were extremely nice and comfortable (I wanted to take the bed home it was so heavenly) and everything was SO CLEAN! We had a beautiful ocean view which was perfect for our husbands that all surf. 4. According to my husband the surf break in front of Bobby's is great when there is swell. 5. There is a gym that you can use whenever. 6. The bar and restaurant there are great and fairly priced. Granted they aren't street priced (like a $2 dollar beer or anything super cheap) but everything was still super affordable. 7. They have a some fun games that you can use. We played horseshoes, there is a volleyball court, they even have cornhole! Bottom line is we had a great time and the place was perfect for us. We usually stay at Gavillotas up the street but this place is going to be our new spot! We loved it! read more
