Well, needless to say, we have a slight difference of opinion in the definition of "best". The recent history of this place is rather sad. My friend did not tell me it had been several years since his last visit, which was prior to the death of the original owner. So he was also a little surprised with the taste. The folks running the place now are very friendly, but also take their time in delivering your food. I was on vacation, so I had all the time in the world. But if I were stopping on my lunch break, I would have been very annoyed. ---------- - - - - - - - - - - THE DETAILS Date & Time: Thursday, July 12th, 2012 @ 12:15pm Dining Companions: my good friend What to expect: Old school tables & chairs, simple decor, signature wall Decor: reminded me of an old classroom trailer (except much larger) Service: Friendly Liquid: Vanilla Root Beer (bottled) Ordered: 1/2 pound & reg. burger, Jr. burger, 2 fries, onion ring, drink Dislikes: Charred onions and black charred remains from the grill on my burger Total: $19.78 ---------- - - - - - - - - - - THE FOOD My 1/2 pound cheeseburger ($5.89 + .50 cheese) was very good, but a long way from being considered the best. I liked the toasted bun but disliked having charred grilled onions which also still had the skin on prior to grilling. Instead of a beautiful caramel color, they were burnt and ugly. Also, I can't properly describe it, but the juiciness of my burger was marred by the fact it seemed too dark in color (see napkin on pic). The fries on the other hand were excellent! I also ordered a local vanilla Root Beer brand labelled Frosties. The 4-pack containers these drinks come in made for whimsical table decorations (gotta love country folks). Unfortunately, it had a medicine taste to it, so I really didn't enjoy it as much as I would have hoped. THE VERDICT Overall it's a decent burger choice and BONUS, they let you write comments with a permanent marker on the wall near the entrance. I probably will not visit again, especially now that In-N-Out Burger has a store nearby. However, I did enjoy the experience and met a few really nice people.

However,they are trying to hold on and not go under. I received their weekly flyer in the mail and couldn't believe the bargain on meat. All digital meaning,you have to clip a digital coupon on the app But,that's ok! Today I scored about $150 worth of various meats for $87. Including Beef rib roast,ham,pork loin,bacon, ground beef. I'm a SWAT shopper. I find the bargains and reel them in. Starting today for a week you too can save big at Tom Thumb. It's a no brainer... Go!

I loved that they had clear labels with cooking tips too which made it way less intimidating to try something new. Definitely a fun spot to explore if you're into trying different flavors or want to stock up on quality options without spending a ton.

Ok look. Forget the gas. Lol…read more That frozen yogurt is why I'm here before you today. I've never had it. When was this invented ? How did I not know about this? From what rock did I climb under ?! You can sample the types of yogurt that you want. There are cups available, after you make your selection. IT GOES BY WEIGHT. So don't get too much. 3 cups were $12+. The dulce de leche was AWESOME. I looked behind me and behold ! A toppings bar. I put chocolate chips and peanut butter chips in there. Next time, the latter won't be invited to the frozen yogurt party. Ice cream was available as well. There were a few more selections for the yogurt but the one I chose was the one and will always be the one. Cashier was friendly. They were staffed enough to fit the needs of their customers. Sorry that this wasn't about gas. Get a yogurt. Like now. After you read this.

What really stood out to me, though, was the leadership of the store manager, Misty. We visited on Saturday during a snow day, and I needed to purchase a money order. The customer service desk was closed, but when I asked Misty for help, she immediately stepped in. She found someone who could assist me and calmly encouraged the employee through the process since they were new to handling money orders. She was professional, patient, and supportive without taking over. While I was there, I overheard Misty thanking multiple employees for coming in on a snow day. It was clearly genuine, not forced, and you could feel the mutual respect between her and the team. The employees clearly respect her, and she clearly values them. At one point, the associate helping me mentioned that Misty was heading out to do cart duty. That honestly impressed me. It seemed completely normal to the staff that their manager would jump in wherever needed -- even on a snow day -- which says a lot about her work ethic and leadership. Walmart doesn't always have the best reputation when it comes to how employees are treated, but Misty sets a completely different standard. Her leadership shows not just in how well the store runs, but in how supported and respected the employees clearly feel.
