Originally I was quite happy with my haircuts here but lately my haircuts haven't been consistent lately and it's starting to show. Unfortunately it will mean that I probably won't be coming back. During my last occurrence, I had requested a 1 faded to a 3. Somehow I got this awkward patch where my hair wasn't cut properly and it was left with something closer to a patchy 6/7 where it should of been faded to a 3. Normally, I'd just brush this off as a one-off occurrence but just today it happened again. My barber, Art, has always been good to me and it's sad to say I won't be coming here no more. Today was kind of the three strikes you're out rule. I noticed that during his cuts that he hasn't been as detailed as he used to. I've had a few run ins with getting cut with a straight razor but today I had two cuts from some lack of attention. It's been a couple times this has happened in the past 7 months since I've been attending this place and suffice to say, I've never had that happen elsewhere so it's a bit disappointing to be cut so many times. As for the picture attached, it shows the cuts mentioned above as well as given pointed tips when this time I asked for the sides to be tapered. ******CASH ONLY!!!******* I have lived in El Sobrante for about 5 years and have come to this little plaza where Bob's is located for about that long, but never needed their services until recently when I decided to do a big chop. What's challenging for me is not just finding a shop that's able to cut my hair, but one that will treat me with respect because I am likely going to be the only female in there when I go. THIS IS THAT BARBER SHOP! I was greeted upon entering, told it wouldn't be long (I was the second patron in there, the other was finishing up in the chair). Bob asked me what I wanted, clarified before he started, and went to work. He explained what he was doing during the haircut. He made sure I was happy with the cut before I left as well. As the only female in that shop (there were 4-5 guys there) I felt as though my business was desired and respected. I love the job he did, for the price I paid, and the environment is welcoming. Bob's Barbershop is now located across the street from where he use to be located. I've been getting my haircut at another neighborhood shop for years, and it's hard to change when you're use to getting your haircut from the same person. Lately, time hasn't been on my side because I can't seem to sync with my normal person without having to wait 30+ minutes for a haircut. With that being said, I decided to give Bob a try since he opens at 9:30 which works great for me. Bob reminds me of a wizard with a wand. I sat down, he waived his clipper around and next thing you know , I was done. I thought wait a minute, I can't be done I just got here. I looked in the mirror and was blown away by the results of my haircut. Bottom-line, nothing fancy but a good old fashion barber that cuts really good! I did mention to Bob that I've been getting my haircut by someone else and he told me that he personally has 5 barbers and it's ok. Bob is very professional. He asks you what you want and delivers. Many times observing his service showed me he is more than a barber. Costumer service is a very important to his business. I took my 8-year-old son to Bob last week for a haircut. Bob is a wonderful barber. In a matter of 15 minutes, my son went from a head full of large curls to a short curly fade. I wish the option to give more stars was available. First let me start out by saying that my husband has been looking for a barber since October of last year. We've been to a few different places and needless to say his hair has suffered... Bob's came to me as a referral (for my husband) and I have to say I couldn't be more pleased. We ended up dealing with Cisco, and there are not enough good words to say about him. When I called he got my husband right in. To say he worked magic is again an understatement. His work, attention to detail along with his ability to interact with not just his client in his chair but everyone who walks into the shop is stellar. The overall atmosphere of the shop (even for woman) was nice. They guys were hilarious and engaging. My husband works crazy hours and Cisco's schedule is very accommodating to people with long hours. We were able to call on a Wednesday and get an appointment for Friday evening. Once again his customer service and communication was awesome!! Pricing is not too high and shop is friendly. We live about 25 to 30 minutes away and I can speak for my husband, he would drive an hour for the level of service and skill Cisco has. Highly recommend giving this place a try.
