This company was a great find for me. I am selling my home and needed my window screen either re-screened or worst case, replaced. I was concerned about how long either process would take as we are running up on the holidays. I was greeted by the front office manager was very friendly and personable. The technician came out and was very upbeat and said he could fix it in 5 minutes. He did and his work looked great and the price was very reasonable. Bob's Glass was amazing!! My mirror was broken during my move and I was so upset. It's an old, custom mirror and frame my mother made for me many years ago. I chatted with Jackie and Robert, they quoted me and their price was great! They even offered to have it finished same day. When I picked it up the next day it looked like it was brand new!!! While cleaning my apartment for a move-out, i accidently broke the front window the day i had to turn the keys in. It was a large window, 3.5ftx7f.5ft or so, and was old style apartment glass. I called around and it was almost 3pm already, and almost every shop i called said they couldn't get it done before closing. Bob's Glass said they were able to do it and were actually the lowest priced shop in my area. (land park/downtown) I took it to them, the guy at the counter was super polite, and when i came back to pick up my window they had it waiting and ready. A contractor working in my home accidentally broke my single pane window glass this week. I called a couple places before dialing Bob's Glass. Someone picked up immediately, gave me a quote over the phone, told me to bring the window in and they would complete it that same day (for a very reasonable price). Honestly couldn't imagine a better experience. And to top it off the guys behind the counter were friendly and helpful with unloading the window. A+ service! We have almost 20 windows we need to upgrade in the next few years and I'm definitely going to have them out to take a look. read more

My spouse and I went here to special order a piece of glass and was told it would be ready in a week. We showed on the appointed day to find it was not ready and was told it would be longer. The guy behind the counter was talking on his phone and could barely give us the time of day. We cancelled the order and left. I just feel that this place needs to get their priorities in order and have glass ready when they quote it. Now, we have received three phone calls from the guy here wanting us to come back to buy the glass and even though we explained we had cancelled the order in person, he won't listen and keeps calling and bothering us. We have purchased it elsewhere and are happy with the service we received from another vendor. read more

I contacted Bob for a patio door job and was quoted a particular price over the phone, a very attractive low price. My first gripe is not scheduling appointments. Even the comcast guys can give me 8am-2pm timeframes. I was told "We'll call you the next business day and let you know when we'll be out". I had to call in at noon to figure out what was going on... Once the repairman showed up and did measurements the price was almost doubled. I'm sure this situation happens, variables change (type of glass, custom measurements, etc). I called Bob to discuss why the price went up significantly. I asked for the measurements so I could get competing bids (why not get a second opinion). Instead of being courteous, helpful, and friends Bob instead became extremely hostile with him and refused to provide the measurement. Why hide this information? I understand not wanting to lose business; but being rude and hostile about it doesn't win customers. I won't be doing business with Bob. Be wary of price changes and this employees are sloppy, unprofessional. My wife was hesitant to let them in to do the measurements. read more

I took the drawer from my mirrored nightstand in to Bob's Glass. The nightstand got knocked over and the front of the drawer cracked. So I call around to some various places and Bob's was the only place that said they could fix it. With that, I was forced to disregard the negative reviews on here and try them out. The woman who worked the front desk was very nice. She told me that they might not be able to make it look exactly the same as the original but they will make it look close. She also told me it would take about a week to finish, which I also agreed to. I told them to just give me a call when it was done and left. So two weeks pass and I realize that I haven't heard from Bob's so I give them a call. The guy tells me that they needed a smaller drill bit to drill the hole for the drawer pull so they were waiting for that but it would be here tomorrow so it will be done tomorrow. Again, I tell them to call me when it is ready. Tomorrow comes and goes with no phone call. I give them another week and call back. The guy who answers says, "Oh yeah it has been ready for a couple of days, I just haven't had time to call you." Seriously? No time to call? Ugh, whatever. I go in to pick it up the next day and the woman (the original one I dropped it off with) says, "Oh did you finally decide to come get your drawer?" I tell her the whole story and let her know how annoyed I was by the whole situation. She apologizes but offers no discount or anything. In the end, the repair cost me $30 and I am happy with the result. So using Yelp math...4 stars for the product and 2 stars for service for an average of 3 stars. read more

Bobs glass fixed my window twice $500 each time 58 1/2 in x 80 in and did a good job... but my window was broken a 3rd time so i called bobs and they had no record of me or the other business owners i referred to them. So they gave me a new quote that came out to $756.00 for the same window. As a business owner its important your customers know your being true and honest. To me that sound to much like they were trying to get over on me. So i decided to go to another place and got a better quote $465.00. sorry bob but you lost me as a customer. read more

I contacted this company to look at my companies building for repair. I was told that they would get back to me to schedule an appointment. When I didnt hear back I sent a follow up email which the manager stated they needed our address, so I sent that over. Didnt hear anything for 2 days, sent another follow up email. Which he stated again he needed my address. Gave him the address a 2nd time. Yet again, I heard nothing back. 3 days later, I sent ANOTHER follow up email. I was told yet AGAIN that he needed our address, gave him our address for the 3rd time. He responded that he got it and would call me that day for scheduling. 2 days later.......nothing. So I call this time, the same man answered the phone. I asked if he got around to scheduling and he stated that he did not. I told him at this point I dont want that company to come out. He than turned it around on me and said he had asked for my address 3 times (which I sent him 3 times), he even responded to the same email thread where the address was clearly stated THREE TIMES. His tone of voice was very "I dont want to deal with this". GREAT customer service! read more

Bob's Glass has helped me out with some extraordinarily tough screen and glass problems over the past two years, so I figured it was time to write a review and express my satisfaction. First, my house was built in 1963 and finding replacement parts for my decrepit screens has been near impossible. Every place in town wanted me to buy all new screens ... except for Bob's Glass who took the time to rummage through their old, dusty odd parts box in the back to find some long-ago-discontinued rollers. Not only that, they gave me several of them for FREE. A few months later I had to replace the rollers on my oversized (12' tall) sliding glass door. Went to several places closer and nobody could visualize what I needed. In fact, another local place tried to sell me rollers that absolutely would not work. Hey ho, Bob to the rescue yet again. After an exhaustive search they found an outlet for the parts and special ordered them. I'm pretty sure they made about a buck profit off that deal, at most. So basically what I'm saying is that these guys are solid. They know their stuff, they have the best prices I've found in Sacramento and also have pretty great sense of community. For me, I like guys who really know their craft and it's always a bonus if I can do business with a local shop rather than a box shop (especially when the local shop is actually cheaper than the box shop). Can they be abrupt? At times (although I've never had the problems mentioned in other reviews). They're a small family business and are super busy. If you need your hand held and excessive fawning, you should probably stick to Home Depot or the cookie cutter stores. If you want quality, *personalized* work at a the best price I've found in town (and yes, my 1963 house has sent me ALL over the Sacramento/Roseville area) then go to Bob's. And if they forget to call you when your order is ready, just remember the phone works both ways and give 'em a call. this guy actually told me if i had the nerve to give him a bad review, he would SUE me. gotcha. had them come to the house and replace windows that were broken and when i asked if they could clean up all the broken glass they left under the window outside the yard so that the neighborhood kids wouldn't get hurt...he told me that wasn't his job, he was there to replace not clean up windows and he wouldn't do anything about it. i even called the owner. very rude, unprofessional and in general, i'd rather have shutters than hire this fu$$$$ again. thanks but no thanks.... read more

The other day I was robbed on Tuesday yesterday I ran into this guy Bob by a referral from another man and another company this company is awesome ladies at the friendes kind Courteouss willing to work with me goes out of their way to even explain to me how I can get it at a cheaper price and what I need to do to get it in to them they were so sufficient so quick I brought it down right away in the moment I was able to get it out myself the gentleman that worked on my window was so kind so polite that he came now and explain to me the different types of glass because I did not have a picture and at the end result when I was bluntly honest to him that I was just looking to fix it just in case this happens again because we were rocked he fixed it so quickly within just a few hours later on he was already calling me to come pick it up I truly appreciate all the hard work and the quickness of him and his staff read more

I have a craftsman home built in the 1930's in the Med-Center neighborhood with wooden double hung windows, one of the lower panes had become mis aligned and needed to be repaired. I called four window shops in the area but Bob's was the only one that without question put me on their schedule. They met me at the end of their day, repaired the window, educated me on how the window sash worked and gave me some practical advice on how to reduce impacts of winter drafts just in time. I don't know why the other reviewers had such bad experiences at Bob's because I had a great one. I came in with a busted kitchen cabinet door and measurements for replacement glass. I was greeted right away and shown my options - both in stock and the glass I could order online. I was also given helpful cost comparison so I didn't overspend. Initially I had an issue on their scheduling (never the people) and put one star, but these guys fixed it right away and made everything right. The owner actually handled the account and measured the windows for us himself. The repair service was very fast and the communication was flawless. Called Bob's Glass for a quote on glass for a desk. Gave dimensions to the Lady on the phone. After she checked with someone else on price, she gave me the quote. I thanked them, then subsequently called others in area for competitive quotes. Decided i would go with Bob's quote etc. and upon calling back to place my order I ended up talking with Bob. I repeated my order and dimensions and subsequently received a much higher price. I told Bob that i was quoted another price earlier in the day. He was surprised at the price but said he would honor the price upon confirming with the woman that quoted me originally. A bit later the woman that quoted me originally called me back and explained the discrepancy in pricing was due to the thickness of the glass needed which in this case would be 1/4" for durability on a desk. I kept my order and will pickup at the end of the week. I hope all turns out well and plan to update my review upon receipt of the glass. read more

My front windows are double pane and started to fog up because they are over 20 years old. I called Bob's Glass and they came right out for an estimate and even worked around my children's nap schedule, how nice is that?? I wasn't sure what the best way to fix my windows were and Rob was upfront and honest with me about my options. I opted to have my windows retrofitted, and boy was that a great suggestion/choice. I had also received quotes from other window places and Bob's was the most reasonable. They told me that they would order the windows and in 2 weeks they would come in...exactly 2 weeks later they were ready to be installed. Brian came out and did a fabulous job. I've used Bob's glass twice now and they have been absolutely great! Not sure why they have so many bad reviews, but I've only had good experiences with them. The first time was to replace a large broken window in the home we had just moved into. They were fast and very professional, and they even cleaned up after they left. I called around to several other window companies and they had one of the more competitive prices. When another window cracked several months later, I called Bob's Glass again and they fixed it in no time and again the price was extremely good.
