It all went well. Didn't charge me an arm & a leg. Was selling house and needed the inspection done. They got it done.

We were not having any issues with our septic system, just called to have it pumped because it was time. Bobula's came on time, nice friendly guy who obviously knew what he was doing. Took just under an hour. The charge was $575, about par for the course. I was put off, though, by the undisclosed $75 "fuel surcharge" they added. "This big truck burns a lot of diesel." I am reminded of those "resort" fees that some hotels tack on. I suspect that Bobula's truck holds about 5000gal and that they can pump several systems before emptying the truck. If they charge each customer $75, that seems excessive. Better to simply increase the cost of the pumping service. read more

Called to have our septic pumped based on the good reviews. They came out promptly, we didn't have risers and needed some minor digging, which my husband did 90% of the digging. They charged $85 for the driver to finish off the digging, and $75 for a fuel surcharge. They recommended risers that they had in stock for $450 each and microbial additive for $65 a year supply. We didn't do our research on the extras, just took the so called experts word. The same risers with the lids are sold on Amazon for $155 per set and the microbial additive is $18 for a year supply. We could have saved $637. As far as the fuel, it doesn't cost that much to have my propane delivered and it's the same type of truck. It's a good idea to shop around and definitely ask if they charge a fuel surcharge. read more

Bobula's was recommended to us by several different people including; the home inspector, our plumber, an excavator, and also a local builder who grew up here in the valley. Seemed pretty unanimous, and so glad we went with everyone's advice... Bobula's are people who know systems, how they are designed, how they work and how to take care of them. This is an amazing local family run business that works together like a team. It's run old school style, they answer their phones and are super nice, then show up on time and get the work done. Bada-bing no horsing around We bought this property a couple of years ago. Have discovered that the previous owners had overlooked some of the regular maintenance tasks required on a private septic & well property. Figured it was a pretty safe bet that we needed a septic pump out. Also I had a ton of questions regarding what we could and should not do Gardening and Planting wise, on or in the vicinity of our engineered septic mound. Recommend that you always consult with a reputable septic company regarding your specific system before you plant anything on or near it. Cameron and his team just left, they were great! He told us what we needed to hear,... not necessarily what I wanted to hear, regarding some of my proposed plantings that are now a no-go. However he made many new suggestions based on the depth of our particular leach field as to what could be done with the area and of course what absolutely should not be planted or done in the area And since our system is a bit older he also had suggestions for maintenance items plus a few things we could do ourselves, that would make our system a little more efficient possibly leading to a longer life I highly recommend Bobula's, it's too bad more businesses aren't owned and operated as beautifully as this one read more

procrastinated way too long to get my septic tank pumped, in fact I didn't even know where it was... Called Bobula's and they came out, found my tank only to discover that years ago a landscaper built a patio over the tank...anyways, lots of digging the crew got my tank cleaned out and risers installed so next time will go a lot easier. Well, I don't know what to say so this isn't a crappy review, but when you're talking about a septic system specialist there's no way around it. We've used Bobula's on two separate occasions now and they have always responded fast, they know what they're doing and their prices are fair. It's not cheap, but nobody in this business is cheap because you wouldn't want to do what they do for a living. Jim and JoLinda are super people, very helpful, and you would never know they've been to your house except that the shower drains, toilets flush and you can do the laundry again. It is really wonderful to in this day and age to come across a company that is this professional, takes obvious pride in all they do--making sure it's the best way--are reasonably priced (especially for the quality of work they provide) and are so friendly to boot. Our tank was REALLY full (the old fashioned kind with big cement lids to lift so one can really see what it looks like on the inside.) Their technician, Wes, worked really hard until it was visibly spanking clean. He was also very friendly, as was Mrs. Bobula in the office. I thought was having major septic problems as nothing was going down and plunging didn't help. I had this issue twice before and called a plumber, who snaked the pipes and fixed it. When this happened a third time, I called a septic service instead. Bobula's came out within the hour, popped the lid of my septic tank, and found the very minor problem (leaving out the details so I don't gross anyone out). Bobula's also told me how to correct the problem if it happens again. Excellent and speedy service, I will only call these guys in the future. read more

This is the second time we have used Bobula's, and we recommend him highly. He is fast and works clean, without complaining. (He arrived hours early, so our aggregate was not raked off the lids for him yet.) He has all tools necessary. He is pleasant but gets right to work. He just does what needs to be done. He is knowledgeable, and he sold us additives for our toilet which we asked for. He didn't promote sales. I recommend, if you use him, close your windows as soon as he gets there. Never again. Feel like I have been ripped off. I asked for my tank to be pumped and two risers installed. I was quoted $300 for the risers. The day he pumps the tank, he only digs up one side and only pumps one side. His wife calls me later in the day and tells me he forgot to install the riser on the other side and can he come back out. I tell her no rush come out anytime. He comes out unannounced two weeks later and installs the second riser...he does not pump out the other side. He then knocks on the door I assumed to tell me thank you but he asks if I want him to bill me. I said I already paid you per our agreement. He then tells me it is an additional $300 for the second riser and to add insult to injury adds another $80 he says for digging the hole, which took five minutes. Never again, use this guy at your own risk. read more

All I can say is AWESOME !!! It was the first time we'd pumped our septic tank since purchasing the property 5 years ago. We also wanted to add a riser so we wouldn't need to dig up the lawn again. We called on a Saturday, the wonderful lady in the office returned the call immediately and scheduled the service for 4 days later. The crew was prompt, polite, friendly and informative (answering all our questions). They arrived as scheduled and "got their business" done in a timely and efficient manner, leaving the lawn area in great shape. We are extremely pleased with the service and will certainly use Bobula's again, as well as recommend them to everyone! The tech was table to perform the service without my being present, saving me from having to take time off work (yay!). They left an invoice on my door, and I was able to pay it over the phone. We needed our septic pumped and we called Bobula due to a very good recommendation from our FAVORITE plumber Joe Prinz of Prinz Plumbing. Todd, the third generation in this family owned business started over 60 years ago, was a very friendly honest and knowledgeable person. They have been doing septic systems since the 40's and have been doing it in the Carson Valley for 28 years. Todd answered all my questions in language I could understand and helped get us understanding how our septic works and how to maintain it to provide us with years of uninterrupted service. I was surprised at the low cost for all that we got, from the septic being found to the removal, transportation and safe disposal of our sewage. He did it all with a smile and even gave us (GAVE US FREE OF CHARGE!!) a new lid for our second tank because it wasn't sealed with tar and the gases had started to erode the concrete.
