Hoffman Plumbing is NOT Hoffman Plumbing any longer - Hoffman used to be great, but they sold out…read moreto a larger corporation out of Las Vegas called "Legacy". DO NOT use this company. We purchased and installed a gas water heater through Hoffman in 2019, which was a great experience. This past Friday, our water heater's pilot light went out and when attempting to get it started up again, would not stay lit. Did a bit of my own trouble shooting via the internet, but was not comfortable taking the next steps necessary to possibly fix it. I called the number here on Yelp and reached this new company which I thought would be fine, with the understanding it was no longer Hoffman. Two techs came out today and right off informed me that I may need a new water heater. Definite red flag as they had not even looked at anything yet. Then, when looking at the wiring and pilot light area, said they needed to call their boss to ask what to do next. I was floored. The company sends two "techs" out to fix the problem that clearly have no repair experience and don't know what they are doing (not their fault, it's the company's fault).They then were looking online for how to trouble shoot the situation. It was at that point I went into the house and called another company (York Plumbing, who are fantastic by the way), and explained what was going on. They told me they would send someone out this afternoon. Finally the two techs from Legacy inform me that we either need to replace the whole gas valve, thermostat unit and burner assembly for $2450 or replace the whole water heater for $3562 and would not be able to complete either until next week. Um, no. Paid them their $99 service fee and off they went. York Plumbing arrived, efficiently and correctly diagnosed the problem and will be back tomorrow to fix/replace the parts needed for around $600 total. SO - there you have it. I am not one to ever write reviews here! But this is unacceptable and after seeing some others report this same experience, thought it important to share and warn others.

Waters installed the initial field so we returned to them, as the initial service was perfect. We were really pleased to work with Matt and Dan again. That was what I was told in person, my daughter was on the phone. There was no specification of what line was being cleared, no specification that there was any stipulations on the refund. The guy simply said if it doesn't work I won't charge no small print disclosed. My toliet worked but all the sewage was backed into my bathtub( see picture). Thats what was in my bathroom when he finished. Doesn't look clear to me, now I am no plumber or septic pro, but come on. They offered a good faith refund of 100. I'm confused they said if it didn't work it would be a 250 refund not 100. Do not use! Do not recommend! Rip off!!! Zero stars.If you are not a plumber then you should not say I will clear the line for an additional 250 and if it doesn't work I won't charge you. The right thing to do would be to say you need a regular plumber if you couldn't do what I needed. Not charge me almost 1000 dollars to not fix the problem I wanted addressed. We talked on the phone also got bombarded by you and your wife via text. There is nothing more to talk about maybe you will be better and more clear and concise or just do the right thing and refund the 250.

What impressed me most wasn't only their fast response time, but the outstanding service from the young man who came out. He took the time to patiently explain how to prevent future backups--simple, easy steps that are completely avoidable, even with my limited mobility. He even sent me a picture of the items I should keep on hand to stay ahead of any problems. I was truly pleased with both the quick response and the thoughtful, helpful care I received. I called Ned Carnett Septic Service because another company I called first was very rude to me…read more Carnett's was very nice on the phone and I was able to set up an appointment with no problems. John came out today and dug up our septic tank this morning, and he was very helpful in answering all our questions. We got to watch the whole process (digging up the covers, pumping, and all that goes with it). John was a hoot to work with, and made us laugh throughout the process! Our tank hasn't been pumped in 10 years, and he said it looked good for such a long time. We're going to have risers installed, so we can make their next visit even easier...Great father and son team family business. Very friendly service, and good value for the cost, too. We highly recommend them- No Shit!
