The batter - seasoned, light, and satisfying. The chicken - juicy, flavorful, and moist. Each bite was even more elevated with their sauces which I absolutely recommend! The Truffle Aioli was my personal favorite; it was creamy, velvety, and earthy. The Bobwhite Sauce was not what I expected whatsoever; it's fruity and sweet with a slight kick. Although I didn't like it on the chicken, it went crazy on the buttermilk biscuit which is the most pillowy, fluffy, and light biscuit I've had with fried chicken. Even though the Reddit pile-on has been harsh, I do agree that Bobwhite was better with bones. In its heyday, they weren't entirely bone-focused, focusing on drums and thighs but not providing wings and breasts as far as I know. Now it's all tenders and sandwiches. I'm sure that to some extent, voters are to blame for this move. Yelp ethics side note: I'm an enthusiastic or even militant supporter of bones in chicken but it seems unfair to go 1-star because of the menu change. There's nothing I want at Lululemon but I don't rate it 1-star. The biscuits are enjoyable. I got fried chicken and buffalo chicken versions. The kale-and-quinoa salad was good by salad standards but not as much as fun as the enticing collard greens/black-eyed peas/tomato side that was once available. Might try some dipping sauces next time. I was in the area and Came here on a Friday for lunch. The place was very clean and busy. I Ordered a bbq chicken biscuit, spicy chicken sandwich, mac and cheese, fries, and a black cherry soda. Everything came up to almost $30. The food came out less than 5 min later piping hot, the food was sooo good. The chicken was fresh and juicy, not dry. Literally my favorite fried chicken sandwich place in JC. This place has AMAZINGGGGG chicken tenders! Their menu has been simplified recently. The previously had cheese pimento which was honestly so great. I wish they'd bring it back. I heard it was taken off the menu back in April. I usually order the chicken biscuits as I'm a sucker for the combo. The original and pickle and ranch are my favorites. Their sides of fries (cooked in beef tallow!!) as well as their mac and cheese are solid options. The sweet tea here is only okay, so if you're not wanting to spend $3 on a meh beverage, skip it. Great experience here. Lovely location tucked away in a quieter residential section of Jersey City. Close to the water offering some amazing views of the NYC Skyline along the Hudson River. Be sure to make time for a walk before or after you eat. Parking can be tough but we were able to find a spot two short blocks aways on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered tenders, fries and sides. Food came out in about 10 minutes. Prices are a bit more expensive than "fast food" but worth it. Tenders, fries, biscuit and a drink will cost about $16ish. Everything was very good...definitely a few steps above fast food places. The space was clean and well-maintained. True to its name, there is a line of stools by the counter you can eat, but there are also indoor and outdoor tables. The food is just fantastic. Made to order, the chicken comes out piping hot, with a crispy exterior and is moist within. The biscuit is a mouthful of heavenly fluffiness. And I can't say enough about the collard greens. Finally crossed this place off the list to try. I've been meaning to come to bobwhite and get myself a chicken Caesar salad wrap and it's truly something I never had before. There's croutons which gives it a crunch. You got your fried chicken chunks and it's drizzled in ranch dressing, what's not to love? My nephew lives near this restaurant in Union Square, Manhattan, NY and said we need to try them out and that we wouldn't be disappointed. Oh he was right! I throughly enjoyed my food! This southern style chicken spot is exactly what I needed. Way better than most chicken sandwiches I've had including the over-rated Chick-fil-A. The chicken sandwich was the right size, the right flavors that really hit the spot. I combined the sandwich with their mac & cheese and a sweet ice tea which was amazing. My meal was pretty effing good...thanks nephew! Their menu also includes buckets of chicken, chicken strips, buffalo chicken sandwich, black-eyed peas, fries, coleslaw, desserts, etc. Another thing I love is that you come in and order your food and your food is ready pretty fast. You have the option of sitting inside, which is very limited, or sitting outside. This is a small restaurant just like everything else in the area. I saw a lot of people pick up and go which is always an option if you live nearby or are in a hurry. The service was friendly and quick. They have a few different cuts and you can actually order between thighs and drumsticks which is great for those with preferences! Bobwhite counter has some of the best Chicken I have ever had. Ordered a 3 peace with a Biscuit, Arnold Palmer and Fries. The chicken was packed with flavor and really the only way to describe it was delicious. The Biscuit was also great (really just an average biscuit). The Fries were seasoned perfectly weren't what you'd get from an average fast food place and for me I would prefer it over even Mc Donald's fries. The only critique from a flavor perspective I could give was there was too high a concentration of lemonade to iced tea in the Arnold Palmer. Being completely honest pricing was a little high, I believe the whole meal with a 10% discount came up to around $18. The drink was a little pricey and I'm not a fan of charging for sauce. I do recognize however, massive food empires are now looking towards that price tag as a "value meal" so pricing wise Bobwhites is average compared to industry. I was told by my co-workers that I HAD to eat here. They were not lying. The place is standard looking burger joint but the service is fast and the staff are super friendly. Now the food. The food was seasoned for the GODs. I got the tender box with the biscuit and man dipping it in the bobwhite sauce was heaven , the biscuit was fluffy and soft. Bobwhite does a great job on the deep fry despite a lighter coating and in fact they add a layer of spices or flavours that seem herb inspired to the the crust. This is some good CLUCKIN' CHICKEN!!! Was in the mood for some fried chicken. Bob white is not too far away so decided to come here. I walked to the store and ordered in the store. It didn't take long at all I ordered the 10 piece leg and thigh bucket $19.99. I didn't time it but I wasn't waiting long. 10 min if I had to guess. It came out ready and hot. I took it home and devoured at least 5 pieces. The chicken was crispy and the meat was juicy and tender and was still hot when I got home. There was a couple pieces where the chicken skin was on the chewy side but for the most part the chicken was really good. I will Definitely be coming back to fix my fried chicken craving. Decided to get takeout at Bobwhite. Heard so much about this place and their chicken. Well all the talk was true! This place serves some really juicy fried chicken without being greasy or heavy!!! Aww, I woke up today to a bunch of compliments for ROTD for Bob White. What a lovely way to start the day!! Since I wrote that first review, I've gone to Bob White almost every single week! So I have to talk about some of the other things I've tried there! The fried fish sandwich - think of an elevated fish filet but with higher quality ingredients and a great price point! The chicken caesar wrap, the buffalo chicken wrap, and yesterday, I tired the chicken with roasted vegetables wrap. All of them are good and different in their own way. You can get grilled or fried chicken. The wrap is so delicious - it's so soft. I highly recommend any of these 3 sandwiches. Chicken wings!! The sauces for these are amazing, you can't go wrong with the remoulade. They also do breakfast sandwiches now - I think I tried the sausage, egg and cheese.
