After trying out and visiting many different fitters around south Florida, I am very glad I ended up fitting my bike at Racer's Edge. John is a truly passionated rider and professional fitter, definitely not in for the sale only!!! Fitting my road bike there was a true success and I would recommend it to anyone that lives over 100 miles over. If you live 100 miles away, the good thing about getting your bike fitted at Racer's Edge is that the quality of the fitting will make you want to ride your bike home. So if you understand the concept of spending a bit more money upfront versus spending lesser amounts in a repetitive manner then you definitely found your spot. In the contrary, if you like to have things done cheap and don't mind spending the time and energy to get things done and redone, costing in the end much more money, you'll definitely find a way to brag about cheaper prices elsewhere. Beware that the fitting of a bike isn't done in a single step, and that you will usually be charged for both steps, especially if you starting without a bike. As much as I read some review that complain about this practice, I found it perfectly and clearly explained to me upfront. In the end, I actually found it completely justified! I recently walked into the Boca Bike Shop and asked the manager, Steve, if he could repair my old Schwinn Johnny G Spinning bike. After I explained what the problem was he agreed to repair the bike as the problem was common to both spinning and road bikes. Steve could have easily refused this repair job as my spinning cycle is not what the shop usually works on. Instead, he exhibited excellent customer service skills and took on the job. My experience with this Boca Bike Shop and Steve was fantastic. My spinning cycle was repaired expertly, in the time that I was promised, and for a very reasonable price. I spent some additional time in the shop and noticed that Steve had great rapport with some of the local road bike riders. Great customer service skills! This is the best bike shop I have ever been to. The entire staff goes the extra mile to deliver A+ expertise and perform quality work. They are always personable, professional and extremely friendly. Visiting family from Chicago. Was searching for an apt and sterling road bike to ride whenever I am in town (which due to the newly minted Covid-19 Era, will be far more often as a symptom of my profession allowing me to work from home, or wherever I am). Hunter was a very articulate and helpful young man, and he led me to find a DREAM OF A BICYCLE. An aluminum Fuji Roubaix roadie that I just did 80 KMs on this morning, and it rode like a dream. Wanted to spruce up the Nirve bike I bought a few years ago. Took it to the guys at Boca Bike Shop and was very pleased with the results! Kevin and Steve walked me through a few options and put some green tires on my bike to add some color to it. What a difference it makes! They also did a tune up on the bike as I was having some issues with the fenders rubbing. I rode 22 miles today and didn't have a single issue with the fender rubbing the tires. Boca Bikes did not disappoint. Our group of mixed ability riders from Atlanta wanted a change of scenery, so we decided to head south. Boca bikes received and built two bikes, and supplied 5 others with full carbon Jamis bikes. All bikes were waiting to be fitted upon arrival, for a group of 7 riders to be in and out that quickly without any issue was a thing of beauty. Helpful with the locals tips for road safety and rider friendly routes. Boca bikes helped our group make the most out of 36 hour South Florida bike trip. The guys here at Boca Bike Shop really helped out when I came in a couple weeks ago to buy my first single speed bike. Their in-store selection is unique and outstanding, the best I've ever seen. However, I had my mind set on a State Bike Co model, so Kevin, Steve, and Dave all helped me out and showed me a brand new model that I loved, the customer service was wonderful. Who I believe to be the owner of Boca Bike Shop took great care of us on 4/26. He was kind, funny, and generous with our time. We rented two hybrid bikes. Which seemed new, had great upkeep, was comfortable, and was easy to use with the shifting gears. We rented bikes and rode them to the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. I tried to get a refund from Steve and Dave for three months over the phone and they gave excuses and the run a round on why the wheels where not done. I never got any call backs when they said they would get back to me. Then finally 1/26/18 when I called and threaten to take them to small claims court they refunded the money within five minutes. Called to find a hard to get part and although they did not have it Steve suggest an alternate solution. With no luck finding the part I did some research and discovered the alternate solution was a better way to go. Today I stopped by the store and they walked me thru all the steps to replace a barrel adjuster with inline adjusters. Bought the necessary parts and an hour later I was riding again. I had several items that needed to be handled on my e-bike: install new racing harness (all the wires were helpfully labeled by manufacturer), install new brakes, install new plug and play motor. After a few minutes the paramedics decided this was a job for the doctor, and they would need to take the bike back to their garage. Said it would take a few days. No problem. A few days later, however, they said "no thanks, we're not going to do this." So they dropped the bike back off. They didn't even do the easy straightforward stuff like installing the front brake. I had to enlist ChatGPT to be my instructor, and I got it all figured out myself. It was actually kind of fun, and I gained confidence by being able to do repairs that were too scary for a professional to do. If you need something done quick and easy, the doctor deserves 4 stars. But maybe look elsewhere if it's a more complicated repair. Here's a pic of ChatGPT saving the day for me.
