I brought a dress which was $60 to alter. When I went to pick my items up I tried the dress on in the store before taking it home to check the fit. The seamstress had not taken it in enough. She insisted on charging more money to complete the job. I thought that was totally absurd. She held my items so tightly in her hands with no intention of giving them to me. I pulled them out of her hands and paid for that which was completed. You cannot ask for more money to complete something that was not completed in the first place at the agreed-to price. read more

What a waste of gasoline driving to this place. I simply wanted new soles and heals on my Johnston and Murphy shoes. The old guy working there tells me it will take three weeks + to resole shoes. What a joke! He obviously did not want the business maybe because I was not Jewish..., I drove down the street to 18th street in Boca and going to have my shoes resoled in less than a week. Brought 5 pairs of shoes to be fixed. 2 louboutins, a Valentino and 2 off brand shoes that are my favorite. He said only 4 of the 5 could be fixed. Did amazing work on my designer shoes. Fresh tips, fixed leather rips and knicks on the heel. Pretty pricey but the shoes are expensive so the upkeep matches. Told me 3 weeks. Dropped off June 7th got a pick up text on June 18th. I will bring all my stuff here from now on. read more

I went into the store yesterday with a challenge for Shoe Repair and Beyond in the Regency Plaza in Boca. I needed a zipper repair as well as a repair on my ripped leather on my fanny pack, which I have been using daily as my purse, due to back issues. I was referred to this sweet spot by a local shop, who said the mall boutiques all use this place for high end leather good repairs. I came in with a belt to shorten. Alsonso was a doll- helped me right on the spot, and refused to charge me! Unheard of. Such a nice and hospitable move. And, he was very precise and methodical with the adjustment. I called and was told this location closed at 6pm. I arrived at 5:51 and the doors were locked and the Lights were on. I continued to knock and even called the customer service line. Next I saw a woman in the back waving that they were closed and refused to open the door, this was at 5:56. I needed my shoes for a Christmas Party this evening, now in which I am now screwed because an employee decided to shut down whenever she felt like. I am appalled and disgusted. Not a way to run a business. I hope that employee wasn't and owner because she just cost you current and future business. read more

Wouldn't trust anyone else with my Louboutins! They were able to take my completely destroyed white kid leather so Kate's and make them look completely brand new(the leather was tearing off the heal to the point where I thought I was going to have to throw them out). Their work is always consistent, I've brought in about 6 pair to be repaired/touched up and they always turn out phenomenal. They also did a Great job cleaning a Louis Vuitton bag for me and was able to get gum off my leather without damaging my bag. I highly recommend them! read more

There's a reason Shoe Repair Plus has a one-star rating. The owner is lazy and apathetic towards customer problems and I've been at the store multiple times where customers were complaining that he lost their clothes. And for the actual service, I once wanted a simple pair of pants tapered and the tailor said it couldn't be done. I looked online and people said that it was ridiculous that she couldn't do it and she must be either lazy or incompetent. Another time, I wanted an alteration done, but she thought something else would look better and did that instead. The prices aren't terrible, especially compared to other tailors in the area, but they're certainly not the best. If it wasn't for the store's great location in Regency / near Woodfield, it definitely would've gone out of business a long time ago. read more

I have no idea what the bad reviews are about. This place is so great! It's a small little shop, but there is always a line. They have fixed purses and shoes of mine....all top designers. I can't tell you how many times I was going to throw out a pair of shoes, but brought them to this store instead. They ALWAYS make my shoes look brand new (saving me hundreds or more, since I don't have to replace them.) In fact, I just brought them three pairs last week, and I was beyond happy with the results.
