We brought a bike in for service. Received an estimated and was told when it would be ready. Based on the conversation, I had an expectation and they failed to deliver. Contes Boca is the worst bike shop I have ever dealt with in my life. I have been riding for 20+ years so I have dealt with a lot of shops. First, they sold me a gravel bike that was too big for me. I don't blame them for that because they let me try the bike before I bought it. Bikes were scarce at the time so I bought it. At least I could ride. All the new shop seem to only want to work on the $5000 racers in competitive bikes. And so is older guys that have the old fashion stuff get lost in the name of technology. I had been holding on and holding out waiting to purchase a recumbent tricycle for a long time and the one that I fancied was just not available, anywhere. I'm at the point in my life where I am no longer very comfortable or confident on just two wheels anymore. It's mostly because of and I will admit to have been experiencing some health challenges for the last few years that have become problematic. Still, I really missed being able to go out and pedal about while enjoying the great outdoors. I had been thinking about it and after talking with some family and friends I decided that a recumbent trike might be a solution. I even watched several YouTube videos that stoked my enthusiasm. But actually finding one to look at up close was difficult and I'm not exaggerating one bit when I say that I had been literally waiting years to get one. The manufacturer was back ordered indefinitely and the supply chain issues of the last couple of years involving various parts and components conspired to keep one from me. Add to that the one location near me who was listed on the company website as a dealership for my brand turned out not to be. So even though Conte's Bike Shop in Boca Raton is more than an hour south of me by car, I contacted them to ask if they might have the trike I was looking for. I was fully expecting to be told that they were still on backorder. After all, even the company website said that that was the case and I called merely to see if anything might be on the horizon. One could hardly imagine the sense of joyful as delight that surged through me when I was told that yes, they did indeed have one in stock! My patience and persistence had paid off and my long wait seemed to be coming to an end. I immediately gave them a 50% deposit over the phone and said I would be in right after I was payed in about two weeks hence. Fast-forward to the middle of the month and I head south to Boca Raton to get my new ride with a palpable sense of anticipation. I had been on the phone with JT and Jeff several times and that day they knew to expect me. Arriving at their Boca location, I finally met JT and a few other men I'd also spoken with. My bright yellow TerraTrike Rambler was set up and waiting for me inside and then after a brief spin around the parking lot, the finer adjustments were made and aI was good to go. I was very impressed with Conte's Bike Shop. They were very cordial and most professional in everything they did which left me feeling very confident about my purchase. I also made a great connection with their resident Brit, a gentleman named Yohan. I mention his origins only because he was familiar with a British bike I owned previously called a Muddy Fox. I'm not kidding when I say no here's ever heard of it. That is except for Yohan. So now I'm out and about enjoying my new ride with a new confidence feeling very good with a great ride beneath me and a great bunch of guys behind me. Right before the pandemic, I bought a bike. I was unable to use it. That's not their fault. The issue for me was, when I went back for Some minor adjustments, the guy behind the counter came to help me. He seemed like he was annoyed I was there. The more questions I asked and the more I asked for adjustments, he became not hostile but trying to give me the bums rush. This is the only bike I have ever bought that I have huge misgivings for. I purchased an e-bike for my wife and kids through Rad Power bikes. I spent many hours assembling it but did not feel comfortable with it as I noticed a few issues. I took it into Conte's, where Jeff came out to my car immediately once he saw my starting to unload this large and heavy e-bike. I greatly appreciated him doing that and with no hesitation. Everyone was friendly inside and helped me very quickly. They discovered some damages that must have happened in transit and said they would complete the work, check every bolt, etc and put it through a warranty claim for me. Long story short, they got the bike working great in a few hours, didn't charge me anything, and were very pleasant to work with and reassuring about bringing it back should it need anything else. *Conte's charges a reasonable assembly price for building these e-bikes. Literally just drag or deliver the box to them and they take care of the rest. I wish I had known that previously before I spent most of my Saturday assembling this bike only to have to bring it in anyways.* read more

I love this place. Bought a great bike here and talked to Stephan when I thought the fit needed to be adjusted. He listened closely, watched me ride and made adjustments to my bike. Then he taught me how to ride! Ok, I know how to ride but I never realized that I was using my torso to power through windy weather...and your torso doesn't move the bike! I'm fortunate that Conte's is not far from my house with their East Boca, Federal Highway location being convenient. Of course during the pandemic most bike shops saw their inventory depleted but I was lucky that during Covid I was able to find a bike I liked. Conte's is a full service shop and they delivered the bike to my house and that's why I chose a small business rather than buying my bike online. Their staff is helpful and friendly and they made the bike purchase stress free. I ride my bike from my house on AIA (Ocean Blvd) and I've had a flat and another issue (who knew AIA would be tough on bikes) but Conte's addressed the problem and repaired the tire in no time and that's really why its wise to purchase a bike locally - it's all about service. read more

A great team of sales and experts that helped me quickly identify and fix a posture and position issue I was having with my ride. A good selection of items to make adjustments and they install them right there, no waiting, and adjust until they get it right. There is a professional 'fitter' on-site that can make sure your ride and you fit together like a glove. A small fee for the service, but totally worth it if you are in the saddle for more than a casual stroll to the beach. The advice on all topics is free and bountiful. You don't feel a hard sales pressure here, just folks that love to ride and want to share the good times with all. I don't know much about the high-end bikes in stock, but some are very, very expensive and equally beautiful, and light as a feather. Took my wheel in for a simple spoke repair on a Wednesday. Promised before the weekend. Stopped in Friday to check. Nothing had been done. No apologies, no explanation, no "we'll get right on it," nothing. I was given my wheel back. I do understand the on-going personnel shortages in bicycle shops these days, particularly with mechanics. And I understand that there's little profit in this type of repair. And that they'd probably rather sell new bikes than fix broken spokes. I'm a regular bicycle purchaser, one that's loyal to independent bike shops. But this was a simple 15 minute repair. Had my bike in for brake service, not once not twice but 3 times, the last time they asked me to leave the bike for few days. All I need was a bleed done right. Went to another bike shop had the service done right away on the spot, the brake is working just fine.. sad when you're trying to support your local bike store. Will take my business elsewhere next time. Walked into their store this morning at 11:02am, as they open at 11am. I had the intention of buying a child bike seat for my bike. I also was considering purchasing a new bike, if I saw something I liked. When we walked into the store, there were three gentlemen working and one of them yelled out begrudgingly "oh my god, there are customers here already!!!" and then mumbled something under his breath. It seems hours of operation are with the intent of customers coming into the store, but I could be wrong. We immediately felt unwelcome and turned off. One of the other men approached us and assisted us in finding the seat. However, their bike inventory was completely sparse! Literally all of their shelves were empty. Overall our experience was with three people who seemed to not want us there. Since you all are very Conte, we'll take our business elsewhere next time! read more

Easy Peasy. I wanted to make sure my bike was working during this quarantine so that i may get some exercise but i noticed my tire was flat. Not having a patch kit at my house, I called up to see if there would be able to fix it. I brought it in 30 minutes later and was riding it in less than an hour. Great store, the young guy that fixed the flat was super quick and friendly and pointed out the gash in the inner tube to me. Very fair price. When it comes time for any more repairs or I want to purchase a new bike, Conte's will be my first stop. read more

Great all around bike shop. They sell and rent the best quality bikes in Boca and Delray. Service is usually the fastest also compared to other local shops, and super friendly. Mario, who oversees the shop, really goes out of his way to make sure customers repairs get resolved well, and they tend to carry a lot of the higher end groupset parts so you won't have to wait for parts to get shipped. Went to Conte's yesterday for a bike repair. I have a 20-year-old cannondale which I love. Unfortunately I got tapped by a car that pulled out on me and my shifting derailleur wasn't working properly and my rear wheel was misaligned and rubbing on the brake constantly. Mario and his crew repaired and tuned up my bike perfectly. Rides like new. The price was very reasonable and the service was 6-star. Since these guys bought out Bike America, the level of service is far improved! They are very thoughtful and very good. I took in my Specialized hybrid bike that I had purchased at the prior store (same location). It was running very poorly and i felt like i was pedaling through mud. Mario reworked it in just a few hours. It feels like a brand new bike! In addition, they cleaned up my bike, degreased my chain, tuned my brakes and a few other items. Overall, I could not be more pleased. Mario (the manager) has done a great job with the place. My wife and I will only take our bikes to him and his shop going forward. read more
