I ordered the steak and shrimp fajitas they were expensive but excellent! Came out on a sizzling plate. I tried the Habernita drink and sangria. The habernita drink had mezcal, orange, pineapple, and habanero so had a nice kick to it. The restaurant interior was very pretty and cozy, although I will say the pedestals on the tables inside the booths are so large so it was kind of awkward to navigate that. We also were the only people in the restaurant at one point and the service was still very slow. We sat for about ten minutes with our empty plates in front of us before our waitress came to check on us. She was very kind, I just felt maybe a little more attentive could have been nice. I got the cucumber gin cocktail which was the highlight for me! For our food we got the Caesar salad with chicken, the chicken tacos, and the chips and guacamole. You could tell the chips were homemade and were so light and crunchy. I loved that the tacos had bite sized pieces of grilled chicken in them, and they were seasoned so nicely. I've officially visited Bocaditos twice and loved each visit. My first time here and eye ambiance was so beautiful and relaxed. The stuff was friendly and instantly greeted me. My friend I was seated almost immediately. The music isn't too loud either so you're able to hear one another. All the drinks sound delicious and $16/ drink isn't bad. I chose the mezcalita and the second time I visited I did the habanerita. Both drinks are superrrr tasty and the liquor is indeed present. Lol For food I had the fish tacos. I didn't think they'd be filling without sides but I was proven wrong. They were airy yet crispy and the taste was amazing. I'd definitely order that dish alone again. Their happy hour is alright (except the margaritas and other drinks are a bit on the pricier side) and has good options like the $2 oysters, $5 chips and salsa and $5 beers. 2 for $10 for small tacos didn't seem like that great a deal for happy hour either. Stopped by Bocaditos Mexican Kitchen in Chicago on a Wednesday night before a Blackhawks game and it was the perfect pre-game spot. The aguachiles were easily our favorite -- super fresh and full of flavor, with really well-balanced ingredients. You can tell the food is made to order and not rushed. The chips and salsa were also way better than your typical starter. The chips came out warm and crisp, and the salsa was smooth, flavorful, and super addictive. We also tried a few drinks, and they were excellent -- well-made, not overly sweet, and a great way to start the night before heading to the game. Our server was amazing -- friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They kept checking in at all the right times and made the whole experience relaxed and enjoyable even with the pre-game crowd. Enjoyed my quesadilla as well, but $15 for a chicken and cheese quesadilla at Happy Hour prices isn't a good deal. We ordered quac, but it never came. We even asked the food runner for it. Went for restaurant week. Most things were good but I think everything looked better than it tasted. The hot sauce we got on the side saved a lot of the dishes. I wonder if it was the dishes we picked off the menu or the dishes are normally that way. I think I'd like it to give it another try on a different occasion to give it another chance. Out of all the dishes, I enjoyed the veggie taco the most. The risotto had promise but it was a little too heavy for a dish that size. The server forgot to bring out our dessert before our check even though the restaurant wasn't too busy. That was not ideal. The restaurant is cute and would be fun place for weekend brunch. The West Coast oysters are the largest that they have, the aren't Blue Point CT, but they are clean and delightful as they give you garlic, hot sauce and something similar to a shrimp cocktail. Chicken taco wa ls mediocre as it wasn't shredded but cubed. It was decent though. The pork belly was delicious and flavorful. The oyster rockafeller has very small oysters and although good not worth the cost. 6 people for happy hour and we spent 508.00 gratuity was added in already. read more

We stopped in on Thursday night without a reservation and it was easy to get seated! The whole space has a very Tulum vibe to it. Each booth had charging stations which was super helpful. Service: so quick and great! Drinks: strong and not super sweet which we loved! They add this fake $100 bill which honestly was a super fun idea Appetizers: we opted to get the queso en llamas as per our waiter's recommendation and it did NOT disappoint. The cheese was perfectly gooey and the sauce they used was fantastic. It was also fun to get this appetizer with a little presentation involved. Mains: Carne Tacos and Poblano Pasta. Both were SO GOOD. The meat was cooked to perfection and seasoned so well. The pasta was so creamy and super poblano flavored and did not feel greasy at all. I would come back for this creamy pasta. Dessert: we were so full that unfortunately we didn't opt to get dessert; we did, however, get complimentary tequila shots. I am a huge tequila fan and the tequila they gave went down so smooth. We have visited Bocaditos several times, all times there were a maximum of 2-3 other tables. Slow service is expected if an establishment is busy, not when they barely have enough customers to stay open. The service here should get 1 of 5 stars. Do not come here expecting to be wowed, heck - don't even expect to receive basic service. The waitresses are slow. They are always standing at the end of the bar on their cell phones just scrolling away. No offer to refill drinks, you have to ask if you want more. On two occassions we have seen employees taking shots with customers. Drinking on the job shouldn't be allowed. On one of our most recent visits, I ordered chicken fajitas. After a super long wait, someone from the kitchen brought out beef. After about 5 minutes, we finally got our server's attention. When I advised her of their error, she was rude and didn't apologize. Just quickly took the food away. Another long wait before I got the chicken. The only reason we have come back is because we like most of the food. Both salsas offered with the chips are very good. We typically get an additional side of the salsa roja (reasonably priced at $1.50) for our entrees. The cochinita pibil tacos are our favorite item! read more

The fajitas were well cooked, not dry, and filling. The margarita flights were also tasty; so glad they weren't too sugary like some margaritas are. I had the Billion Dollar Margarita, it was strong but good. I only needed one my sisters/friends enjoyed their cocktails which included the Mezcalita. Our sever was nice and attentive. I had the honeymoon cocktail and mango fiesta cocktail. The honeymoon cocktail was well balanced. The mango fiesta wasn't spirit forward and I wasn't a fan. The food we did calamari, chips and guacamole and oysters. Oysters we're delicious and fresh. Guac was well seasoned and calamari was fried well. For my entree I had the enchiladas. They have good cocktails and the vibe inside is great for a dinner with friends or even days night. The outdoor seats are super nice in spring and summer. The service is hit or miss sometimes. The last time we ordered the person that took our order was a little rude over the phone. When I arrived to pick up she was busy taking an order over the phone so I waited. On top of that, the pricing felt high--$24 for three enchiladas without sides seems steep, even for downtown. Something closer to $18 would feel more fair. Also, the chips and salsa at $8 feels like a holdover from COVID pricing--at this point, it doesn't reflect good value. Fun new Mexcian spot on Madison St! There used to be an oyster bar in this space. I love how Bocaditos completely transformed the inside and outdoor area of the restaurant with great decor, mood lighting, and new tables and chairs. We had tacos shrimp tacos and a Cesar salad-- both were great. Everything had good flavor, was a healthy portion, and I enjoyed how straightforward the menu was. They have great happy hour deals here for food and drink. It's definitely something I need to check out soon! Towards then end of our meal our server kind of abandoned our table which was odd but besides that the service was good/standard. They have a variety of happy hour and daily specials ranging from $4 tacos to $10 margaritas which is a steal.
