One star because ordered take-out on what appeared to be a slow late afternoon with few patrons. Ordered a small plain cheese pizza and medium white pizza. The 2nd star was earned because the pizza was decent. However, certainly not worth the wait. There was an abundance of staff. Saw two dedicated bartenders, 3 people taking to-go orders / hosting, a couple of servers and two managers. So the wait wasn't for lack of staffing. Noticed 4-5 high school aged kids making the pizzas. Maybe management should help out if the turnaround time is longer than 45 min.

What a great restuarnt! Was in close proximity to all three locations and ended up choosing the one closer to Venice mainly because we figured we would visit a Venice Beach after dinner. When we arrived, we were welcomed and were able to get a seat right away. In giving reviews, I am always honest and must confess we waited a bit until a server arrived at our table. It was nothing aggregious, just longer than normal. If we weren't so hungry and knew of other decent places with no wait, we may have walked out, so we decided to stick around and I'm glad we did. Mariah asked if we were being waited on, picked up our order, and things quickly changed. Her southern hospitality and charm made up for the extended time waiting. While pure speculation, I'm pretty sure she was assigned a different area as she was all over the place. Despite this, she managed to check in on us, made sure we were hydrated, and provided us with outstanding customer service. A huge thank you to Mariah for your service. I started off with a Hazify (New England Style IPA from Palm City Brewing) One of the great things about traveling to different areas is trying beers from different parts of the Country that may not be readily available back home in New Jersey. I snacked on some Coal Fired Wings (Fried crispy, tossed in your favorite sauce and finished next to their 1200° coals) tossed in a mango habenero sauce. There were many varieties to choose from and was happy with my choice and would have been just as happy with some of the other flavors as well. For the main course, we ordered the Pizza Margherita (Neopolitan tomato sauce with flor di latte (fresh mozzarella) and basil), Ravioli (Cheese ravioli topped with our homemade tomato sauce) and Vodka Penne (Tossed in tomato cream sauce.) Both pasta dishes came with two huge garlic knots that my son said was one of the best garlic knots he ever had and I can attest he has has many. The food came out quickly and was delicious. Coming from New Jersey with so many great pizza places, I was reluctant to try the pizza but was impressed with the quality being I was 1200 miles from home. My kids devoured their food enjoyed their meal. For dinning out, I though the price point was perfect and was surprised it was not more expensive. In finding places to eat, an important thing for me is to find a well balanced menu that could satisfy me and my daughter who is a vegetarian. This menu has many options to choose from we all walked out stuffed and satisfied. A huge thanks to all those behind the scenes (bartender, cooks, management) for a delicious meal.

Nice place, good environment and friendly staff. Wings are crispy and delicious. Steak roll is ok. Garlic knots we didn't like, the bread was very dry. Pizza is really good. Overall a nice place to eat some pizza.

This was a new place for me to try and I loved it. There is a restaurant area and a bar with alot of TVs. It looks like a local favorite hang out spot. We decided to start with the meatballs. They were made well and juicy inside. Great start. The salads were crisp and the dressing had great flavor. We ordered wings to share and a medium pizza. There were some great sauces for the wings, Korean BBQ was the choice and it was not too sweet with some heat. The hand tossed sausage and ricotta came and we were in heaven. The crust was great. I feel this makes the pizza. Their sausage had a hearty flavor, not over spiced and the ricotta was creamy. I will say we took most of our dinner home to enjoy again. If I'm in this area again I will stop.

The hostess with the blonde hair had an attitude problem and the pizza was average. I had the jersey upside down pie.

Pizza lacks sufficient tomato sauce. Management insists on charging extra for sauce. Sauce is not a topping it is an expectation.

That said, it ended up not being a big deal at all because their cocktail list is seriously impressive. What also was impressive was their fantastic HH food menu. The kids ordered a pretzel basket & pizza, which they loved. For ourselves, we went with the Fig Pig pizza on a gluten-free crust--absolutely incredible. Everything we had was genuinely delicious. Between the food, drinks, & overall experience, this place was great. but if I could give extra stars I would, because their staff was beyond starrific. Their waitress spent time chatting with our daughter, answering her questions about the menu, her favorite things, & what she liked about being a waitress there. It was such a heartwarming experience her taking her time- even telling our daughter often, I have to check on other people so I don't ignore them, but I'll come back- displaying how to be attentive, mindful, and not just brush a kid off. Quality food drinks. Quality people. Quality place.

Stephen our server, gave me the bill later. The credit card machine was highlighted on the amount for tip as 22% rather than 20% or 25%. I asked if the tip was calculated after the tax since I didn't want the tip on the tax. I was told by Stephen the tip was only on the sub total. The receipt indicated a tip of $34.82 and 22% should have been $33.27. The credit card machine should be accurate. Additionally, my rewards pizza was still on the bill. I was charged for two classic cheese, pizzas, and one credit cheese pizza of $7.00. I called the Oak & Stone on Thursday (8/20) and spoke with the manager who indicated my rewards hadn't been posted on my account but he'll look into it. I checked two days later, nothing had changed and another manager said they would look into it again. It's over a week now and my rewards were never posted. I'm very disappointed in going through increased percentages with the tips and rewards program that's kind of sad. Because of this experience, I was wondering whether I've had rewards issues in the past that I didn't follow up on. John Fischer, 217.971.6635.

Actually our very first time here we couldn't get a seat because it it that popular. I love their chicken and dumpling soup. This is THE definition of comfort for to me. It tastes like a quality chicken pot pie with actual goodies, none of this whole farmland of potatoes, carrot, and peas plus some broth and butter and a shred of chicken tail and calling it a "chicken soup." This was a hearty soup with chunks of white meat chicken and soft dumplings. Basically chicken dumpling soup as they say, vs potatoes cube soup. It is a must have. I really did myself a disservice and only got a cup.... on my own vacation after working throughout the entire pandemic on-site. The gulf shrimp platter (I got blackened) absolutely delicious. I love the Bourbon Sriracha sauce and used it as a dipping sauce for my fries. You can also never go wrong with hearty mashed potatoes and their gravy. My fiance got some brisket pork combo (in the entrees section) plus mac and cheese side... so good!! This is a must go to place, and the staff are super pleasant. Zero complaints from me!

The dark meat fried chicken was also very good- lightly battered and right out of the fryer. I chose collards and mashed potatoes w gravy. The greens were tender and very tasty. The mashed potatoes were also good. The sides and a square of sweet cornbread rounded out the southern comfort food platter. Beer and wine is served along with sweet teas and soda. The servers were friendly but were slammed going table to table. I thought about a slice of the frozen peanut butter pie to go but bailed on it. My meal was very good. I was also impressed with the green beans , amazing flavor combo. The mac - cheese was also better than most places with a creamy texture and smooth cheesy flavor. Day 2 - I came back for the Guinness Stew, I was alone night one with the Aussies and it was represented as a large portion. Small Brussel Sprout appetizer was a good start. Sriracha BBQ Meatballs were amazing hit. Very flavorful and I will make these at home The Brie was a miss. Not much Brie lots of sweetness, minimal chips and a price tag that made it very much not worth it. The Guinness Stew was lackluster. A small sourdough round with some stew in it. It was missing that rich Guinness flavor and thick broth I love and salt didn't fix missing layors I was excited to taste. The price made this dish a huge miss. We talked about that the rest of the night. 2 Prime Rib dinners medium rare were tender, not very well seasoned, sometimes its good to leave the meat the star, we had AuJus and Horseradish for added flavor. More mac - cheese , not very warm, but good nonetheless. Peas and carrots, were okay. The busser spilled the Aujus on my boyfriend's lap cleaning up the dishes, no one said anything, I'll get that stain out. They were out of Apple Cobbler, sad face there. They did take it off of our bill and rerun the card. The manager came out to explain the way that works, pending charges and all, that was a plus. The warm chocolate cake we also ordered was rich and moist, it had some whip cream with it, next time we would add ice cream if ordered again.
