Okay so we came in hungry and left HAPPY First off, the vibe was really nice. Chill, clean, and just a good spot to sit and enjoy some food. Cool music playing and people of different ages enjoying themselves. The mozzarella sticks or whatever they were called were soooo good, crispy and cheesy just how they should be. Our waitress (I wish I remembered her name ) was super sweet and really helpful the whole time. Now...they did mess up my personal pizza at first. BUT here's why I'm still giving them love...they handled it SO well. They let me keep the wrong pizza, brought out the correct one, AND gave us free cake. Beautiful place! Everything on the menu sounded great! We decided to share the buffalo chicken pizza-I went to take a picture of the pizza oven and had the delightful experience of meeting Grace! Saturday 7/11 our party of 5 enjoy a Greek salad, egg rolls, Bourbon chicken wings and a mozzarella pizza. One large pepperoni & green peppers to go. All were satisfied. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. 3 pm Saturday is an excellent time to go as the place was virtually empty. I ordered a well drink and my husband ordered a glass of house cabernet. When we received our check we were shocked to see that we had been charged $60 for 6 glasses (6 oz. pour) of wine. Really like this location better than Wellen park. Food always tastes better, especially the wings. Feel like the carpet and the booths could use an update though, also the host check in area at front is always a mess and confusing, sometimes people see u and say nothing sometimes u get seated ,sometimes not. Feels like their staff needs some training guest awareness. Also we Always sit and wait for forever without drinks or once you get drinks trying to get a refill is like pulling teeth. And looking around every single table is almost always dirty right up to the point of being sat again. I think that looks bad. Have been here a few times and tried different things. I don't recommend the fried calamari as it is usually over cooked and rubbery but it seems to be better prepared when it's "donatos style". If you're not into calamari, the garlic knots are a must! They are 10/10. I dream about them. I've had a few different pizzas here including the Prosciutto & Arugula, Sausage & Ricotta and the Classic White Pie. All 3 are really good! They have great staff and work well with large groups. We had a really nice meal here 2/25 we came for a late lunch at 245 ish pm. Dining was seat yourself and Sara was a great server who checked on us often and delivered our food exactly as we ordered it. None of our food was burnt which has been a problem in the past. We requested my pizza lightly baked with no black and it came out perfect for me. For me and my party- the Big salads are just too big. We only ate half and leftover salad will just go to waste. We ordered a takeout order online and it went smoothly. Their takeout window in the parking lot is great so you don't have to go inside. We ordered the garlic knots, a large white pizza with sausage and green peppers, and a calzone with roasted peppers and mushrooms. I enjoyed the garlic knots but not everyone did. They were soaking wet with grease and overly garlic but we kinda thought everything was dripping in grease. The pizza slices were massive but we all enjoyed the pizza. It was great for leftovers the following day as well. The calzone was very good as well and we just sliced it up to share it amongst 4 adults, which worked perfectly. It is a nice restaurant inside, with a nice concept and good location. However, the food and service need to be addressed. We were a party of 4 & told to step aside for about a 15 min. wait even though there were empty tables. The next party of 4 was seated immediately, as we were still waiting and ignored. Cooks could use more training in making a pizza, the crust bubbles should be popped while in oven and ingredients should be evenly distributed, not all the meat tossed on just one slice. The server said they don't have enough parmesan containers for all of the tables & didn't know if she could find us one and also tried to serve us a very burnt pizza. Server forgot our appetizer, while we watched a table seated after us receive and enjoy the same appetizer. The waitress said pick a place you like; all the tables were dirty with dishes, food, whatever. Love their pizza We ordered the special hand price pitcher from our wait staff. She acknowledged the special. When we received the bill it was not discounted . When told she had to investigate, coming back and saying it was only domestic beer. She said she couldn't make the discount . I said I'd need to talk to the manager . Takeout Food was very good. We ordered online which was easy; upon arrival our food was ready and sitting in warmer. This is where things got interesting. We waited 15 minutes while takeout order clerk was on the phone with an apparent difficult customer. 4 additional customers arrived and waited while the clerk researched the menu and was fully attentive to the customer on the phone. When clerk made eye contact with me, I asked if I could just take my pizzas to which she firmly said no and went back to the phone. I waited another 5 minutes before asking a manager to assist the clerk. I suggested that customers at the counter should take priority over a person who is asking hundreds of questions and at a minimum train the clerk to ask for assistance to get pickup customers orders fulfilled. Been coming here for about 3 years. in that time nearly the entire staff has changed. The service used to be phenomena. Now, it feels like they are always understaffed, especially in the bar area. One bartender to wait on the entire bar area, including the seating facing the bar. The staff can't keep up. As a result, you have to wait to order a drink and often you get cold food. North Port service and food industry sucks, I swear. There is only one decent restaurant in this city and this is not it. My family has been to this Bocca Lupo location a few times and the food is never consistent. Yesterday the wings were over cooked and the alfredo pasta sauce was way too oily and gritty. The cheese has separated from the roux. The calamari was undercooked and no seasoning. My kids said the cheese pizza tasted weird. Do these people not know how to find a decent chef???? The waitress was decent this time. It took me 20 minutes to get my drink and the waitress apologized and said there was an issue with the bartender. Whatever that meant because the place was not busy. Before that, the mozz sticks were cold in the middle, they forgot to put the ricotta on the pizza, waaayyy too much dry rub on the cajun wings making them too salty. We have tried "full moon pizza" night two times. Each time we have been disappointed. Each time we have been there our friends who go there regularly say to us, "it's a little bit off tonight." A group of 10 went to this place last night. (We had made a reservation). Eight of the guests received their order of wings (which were good). The other two did not even after informing the waitress about the problem. She said she was unable to do anything even though she placed the order. We waited for the 'manager' to address the problem and have the food delivered asap. The rest of us continued our meals, and finally had to go find the 'manager' to explain why this problem wasn't taken care of. He appeared to not really care about the issue and gave a limp apology . The two orders finally arrived as we were preparing to pay our bills. This occurrence is the SECOND time that it happened. We had gone to the establishment a few months ago and had the same problem with the same response from the 'manager'. We did not expect a repeat of this problem again. If I could give this restaurant zero stars I would. My family attempted to go to the Boca Lupo in NorthPort, Florida for dinner tonight, however we were very quickly made a spectacle of and made to feel uncomfortable so we left. After we ordered our food the sever came over to let us know that "some of the people at the bar are complaining about your children." My disabled toddlers were both happy and stimming vocally. I requested she send the manager over assuming that individual would be more insightful about customer service. Cameron, "the general manager," was unfortunately worse and made up some story about how "5 tables have left complaining" as he smirked. Ok Cameron way to be ignorant about children with disabilities and care more about your drunk patrons instead of a family who is trying to enjoy a night out of the house. We have been to this Boca Lupo location many times since they opened, however I will never return. I'm sure your not lacking in customers, this situation could have been handled so much better. I will also be advising all of my friends and family to never give their hard earned money to this establishment. Cameron should be ashamed of himself and the restaurant owners should be ashamed of themselves for being so unkind, insensitive and telling me that I need to make my disable children be quiet because their drunk patrons at the bar are bothered by my children. This a review from my last 5 visits, yes we keep going back. They have great specials and some quality food to go along with the great staff. The wings by far have to be some of the best I have had in a long time. After the first fry they toss them in their sauce and put them on a skillet to finish off in the pizza oven to give them that crisp finish. The caprese is a must every time we go, they add some pesto in the plate for a little twist. The food is always great with some weekly specials. This is a restaurant you don't want to miss out on.
