There are not a lot of good Italian restaurants in the area. Coming from New Haven Connecticut, which has numerous good Italian restaurants, I was pleasantly surprised how good this restaurant was. I ordered Pappardelle with a white bolognese sauce - ricotta salata. It was a special on the menu. All the pasta is homemade. The sauce was very good , but I preferred the traditional sauce. Our second visit to our new favorite Italian restaurant, Radice! Thanksgiving dinner was amazing. The owner remembered us from last week and greeted us as if we were long time friends. A true gentleman. We started with the Melanzane appetizer, which was delicious, and for entrees my wife ordered the Braciole, I had the Turkey dinner, Both were tender, juicy and rich in flavor. Food was off the charts exceptional, as was the service. Thanks to our server Gent F for the great service! Our server Tracy from last week spotted us and came over to say hello and wish us a happy holiday. They really make you feel like family. Something that has disappeared from most restaurants, but not at Radice! Thanks to Toto for the complimentary housemade, by his wife, Lemoncello aperitif's. They were delicious. I only wish we had room for dessert! Looking forward to returning and exploring more delicacies on their menu! read more

Just came here for dinner. First off the restuarant front door is quite difficult to find because of the ridiculous amount of tables in the front. When I entered the hostess was chatting someone up but quickly greeted me. I asked for a bar seat. Took about 5 minutes to be acknowledge by the bartender and we'll I just grabbed some of the menus off the bar that were next to me. I ordered the stuffed peppers and pork chop. When I ordered the pork chop thats when I was told about a pork masala special. I didn't want that and I had to ask for the other specials. I stuck with my original order. As I was waiting fot my food I ordered the reisling, which was not sweet a bit dry and seemed like a sauvigon blanc. My pork chop came out and it looked great. But where was my appetizer? Well the lady who brought my pork chop said it wasn't on the ticket. So I asked them to add it. I cut into the pork chop and it was still raw. Yes very raw. Sent it back. Peppers came out. They were good. I did like that the manager or owner came to check in every once in a while. After i finished the peppers the pork chop came out a few minutes later. Surprised I didn't get a new one but a refire. That's fine not a huge deal. When I asked for the check. I was surprised that the pork chop was still on there. I didn't complain and paid for it but this isn't something I'm used to seeing happen. Had to take off one star for that. read more

We had a large family dinner and everyone enjoyed everything. The place is beautifully decorated. We were seated in a comfortable private room. Nice touch. Our server was a professional waiter...which I appreciate. Loved his accent...added to the charm. Hard to please 17 people and they did. Cocktails, appetizers, dinners and dessert...all good. Standouts were the Peperoncini appetizer and Pappardelle. My Tonno (ahi tuna) was good but not a wow. I think my issue was it didn't come with a side. For $39 I felt it should have had a rice or risotto on the plate. (A scoop of rice is cheap enough...rIght?). I truly felt I needed something more to soak up the bok choy, salsa verde which the tuna was placed on (not much of it). Most ordered the special which was swordfish. Now that came with risotto. I didn't hear comments so not exactly sure how it was. My dirty martini was just right even with the house vodka. The other cocktails all looked right on as well. Overall it was a wonderful dinner and time with the family. The owner/manager was helping and you could tell he was working hard to please. read more

This is a quiet place. I've been here 2 times . I just found that that it's kind of hit or miss and the menu was not exciting , or what I wanted. My husband ordered a soup which was tasteless along with Papperdelle with mushrooms which was great. Their appetizers are great and a Bibb lettuce salad was nicely presented. They could not make the eggplant into a main - so ordered I ordered it as is with the Bibb salad and shared steamed muscles appetizers in white sauce !Muscles were large very clean and really very good. In summary there are some good options but also some that are disappointing. The main course menu is limited . The atmosphere is lovely and the noise level was acceptable. read more

We are regular dinners at Radice. We wanted some upscale takeout on March 28, 2019. Great food yet again! This was the first time doing take away and we had 2 great meals as a result. Saturday dinner and Sunday lunch. Our food was prepared deliciously and on time as promised. The salumi was a great starter and later a great snack! I enjoyed the Radice salad and Gorgonzola gnocchi. Really great flavors and the gnocchi was a rich meal. My wife enjoyed the Costata (pork chop) and the Costata salad. We will be back again! Give Radiche a try if you haven't. read more

We WERE regular customers, dining there about once month, usually with other couples. Our average bill around $75-$100 per person. I wanted to share our experience from last night 9/4/24 as we dined there with another couple outside on the patio. Three of us ordered the same dish, Nodini, which is a beef dish, one medium and two medium rare, and one special, flounder stuffed with crab. We got our salads fairly quickly and the salads were excellent, but waited over an hour for our entrees. We could tell they were short staffed so we waited patiently without complaint. When the entrees came out, all 3 beef dishes were well done and the flounder special didn't have any crab meat. We all ate what we could, and one of us left 2/3 of the beef. When the waiter came to see how we were doing, we told him our dishes were over cooked, which he agreed with looking at the leftovers. He said he would let the owner know and take care of it. We waited and waited for our check or for the owner to come by the table so we could talk to him. When he finally did come, he brought 4 limoncellos and said his wife made them. (Like a shot of limoncello compensates for a $39 entree) The other couple said, "but we had a problem with our food." The owner (Toto) then said, "well then you are to never come back to my restaurant ever again." We thought he was kidding, but he stormed away saying, "you are to never come back!" He was rude and disrespectful and would not let us speak one word. Needless to say we will not be dining at Radice's ever again. So if you do go, don't dare criticize the food as you might be banned forever!! read more

First of all, I feel truly sorry for any business in this shopping center because of all the roadwork and construction going on all along Route 202. We actually drove way past the restaurant because of the lack of signage on the road, and the traffic was an absolute nightmare. Once we got there, we loved everything! The pappardelle with mushrooms and the gnocchi were sensational and reasonably priced. Same for the pizzettes, mouthwatering! Tiramisu is the best we've ever had. Cocktails also excellent. Two male servers -- Gert and one whose name we do not know -- were very pleasant and efficient. (And we love the accents.) And owner Toto Schiavone, whom we remember from DiLullo's and Moonstruck in Fox Chase and DiLullo Centro in center city, is an absolute rock star in the local restaurant industry. Wonderful dinner experience. The oven they use takes each dish to a new level. We started with the melanzana--eggplant was crispy despite the layers of sauce and cheese, definitely the underdog hit of the evening. My boyfriend ordered the margherita pizza and I selected the tagliatelle entree. My pasta was delicious, great pieces of shrimp and scallop, and my boyfriend's pizza was a hit too. This may be the only place I've been where the pizza crust is as good as the pizza itself--crispy, chewy, before it melts blissfully into your mouth. Plenty to take home for later(because you will try to save it for the next day, but the temptation will be too great, and you'll eat it out of the container in a few hours.) We finished the night with 2 desserts: the tiramisu and the budino. Tirimasu was light, airy, creamy with a bold zing of coffee. Not sure why its taken us so long to trying Radice but so very glad we did! I was definitely drawn in by your Instagram feed - bravo!! Mouth watering pictures! Toto and his staff are the real deal Italian hospitality. We brought wine and they also have a fully stocked bar - my hubby is a huge Grappa fan. The food is top notch - starting with the bread which is perfecto - crisp crust soft center dipped in basil olive oil. My husband had the special baked oysters and pork paillard - amazing! I had the Triestina soup, Cannestrelli arancini AND the Papardelle with duck ragu. Grazie!! We will be back soon!! read more

We went to dinner at Radice on Thursday with two other couples. Upon entering the outdoor dining space my husband tripped on a pile of wood that was in front of a chiminea they used for heating the outdoor space. This was right in the passageway to the outdoor seating area. He fell totally prone. The hostess came over after we managed to get him up and proceeded to restack the wood rather haphazardly so that someone else could trip. She never asked if my husband was injured. She appeared to be put out because she had to restack the wood. The hostess did come over during the meal to inquire if my husband was okay but did not take his name and contact information for follow up the next day. Never was he asked to fill out an incident report as should have been done. The lack of concern for the well being of a patron is appalling. Now for the meal. Everyone enjoyed their meals but the dessert was another thing. Several of us ordered the blueberry crisp which left a lot to be desired, it was watery and the crisp was burnt, as if the blueberries were scooped out of a bowl with some juice and some sort of oat topping was put on and put under a broiler to be burned. Someone ordered tiramisu and it was nearly all whipped cream. Would we go back to Radice, I think not. If I could give it no stars, I would if only for their total lack of concern for a patron who may have been injured due to Radice's negligence. Right now my husband has bruising and some pain in his knee and left arm, hopefully it will subside. So go to Radice at your own peril. read more

Made a reservation many days in advance. Came in on time. Noticed on my plate what looked like an eyelash and there was also a speck of something on my date's plate. This restaurant seemed to be a "nice" restaurant so I expected everything would be nice and clean, especially the stuff I'm eating off of. This immediately left a negative impression on me and soured my mood a bit. We ordered one of their pizzas to share, and it was too salty. The braised short ribs I had were okay, nothing special. I've been to Radice a number of times, but have just recently started to really fall in love with it. My fave seating is actually at the high top bar tables by the window if you have the opportunity. SO ITALIAN, I have to say I haven't had homemade pasta this good since my trip to Italy last summer. Needless to say, you absolutely cannot go wrong with the pasta dishes - all homemade and fresh! My faves are the gnocchi, lasagnetta, and the buccatini. And they all come in perfect, moderate portions so you don't hate yourself afterward (and have room for dessert). Omg. I can't even, so I will move on. The 100% pork meatballs are a great starter - so tender and light- , as well as any of the pizzas you can see being made right in front of you in their pizza oven! Even as simple as the margarita is delicious. Finally, their desserts. Oh their desserts. CREME BRÛLÉE is an absolute necessity...I told our waitress tonight I think it's the best I can ever remember tasting. The cannoli, raspberry Cabernet sorbet, and gelato are also delicious. I have yet to try the rest but I cannot imagine they would disappoint. Pair it all with their prosecco and you have yourself an incredible evening. Enjoy! read more

We had a delicious piece of Cod. My wife's platter included a wonderful piece of well-prepared Skate. I think my sister-in-law had the Hen. Pasta was a very nice second course. Bread is outstanding. We also had soups and salads. I think they have the art of Italian soup down pat. And that's to say nothing of their tasty pizza. The place is really terrific. I would go here again anytime. First time at Radice, and it was a phenomenal experience. I like to critique restaurants starting with their bread, and Radice passed with flying colors. They served three different types of bread with a pesto dipping sauce. On to the meal! For two people the order was: First course: Cavolfiori and Cannestrelli The cavolfiori was a magnificent medley of cauliflower and root vegetables baked to perfection. The cannestrelli was a delicious twist of an Arancini. It was served with a very vibrant lemony vinaigrette sauce and micro greens. Second course: Braciolini and Pasticcio We ordered this to simulate pasta and meatballs. The meatballs were very good and paired well with the Pasticcio. The Pasticcio kind of reminded me of a deconstructed vegetable lasagna. Flavors were on point. Third course: chef special, salmon and halibut over couscous. By the final course we were already getting full. The fish was cooked to perfection. The chef did a good job not over seasoning and masking the flavors of the fish. Overall, great experience. Funny thing I noticed was the demographic of the restaurant. Seemed like the age range was 45-70. I'm 26, but the food speaks for itself! read more

We were here this past Saturday night. We decided to sit at the bar for drinks and food. I wish I could give this 2 separate rating, because our bartender was great! If I could I would give him and the food runners a 5 star review. But the reason for the 1 star is; while we were dining the hostess came over to the bartender to let him know a few "regulars were on their way in and wanted to sit at the bar. It was mobbed, so that wasn't going to happen and the bartender told her that. The hostess walked away but came up to our party and asked us where we going to eat and would we be much longer, that was a bit off putting, but we let it go. As soon as the "regulars" arrived they moved a high top to the bar area to accommodate them. The party next to us left and the "regular" couple jumped in their seats, no problem. The issue with the hostess was a minor issue easy to overcome. However, than the owner came over and very rude fully reached through us to grab our plates. It was done in a very aggressive manner. If was clear to us he wanted us out. He also seemed to accidentally bump us whenever he approached the bartender. Our bill with tip was over $200.00, so we weren't just taking space and drinking water, we spent a nice amount of money. A group of 6 of us went here after work on a weeknight, all of us our first time. We were all craving Italian so this place was perfect. They have soups and salads to choose from and a list of entrees, all roughly $20-$30 each. They also have tapas which are the bulk of their menu. A wide variety to choose from and I'd say $10-$18 a piece. They also have personal pizzas that you could probably eat on its own. I ordered two plates...the bucatini pasta and the scallops. Both of which were delicious!! The bucatini pasta, in a red tomato sauce, although was a small plate it was a good amount. I ended up taking some home. The scallops were not what I was expecting as they were more like a crab cake but they were so good! Three to a plate. I would definitely consider coming back here again for dinner. AND once I noted I was vegan and asked for guidance, they did a roasted vegetable plate that was really the best I've ever had. If you're vegan, don't hesitate to go to this place. My friend got the gnocchi and they were rich and in a cream/sage sauce - the appetizer/regular portion was more than enough! Friday night, we celebrated my wife's birthday dinner with a friend, and we all had a wonderful meal (my wife had the Sea Bass, my friend had the sword fish, and I had the Osso Bucco. Every one enjoyed his well-prepared meal, followed by wonderful and varied gelatos. I highly recommend the vanilla gelato with grape and plump golden raisins. We came here with a friend and were seated promptly. We ordered a steak special, lasagna and the polletto (chicken with white beans). My wife liked the steak, but I thought it the sauce had an odd flavor that I can't describe and it lacked salt (easy fix - I added salt). My friend seemed to enjoy his lasagna. My chicken was very tasty and I enjoyed it thoroughly. My friend and I are involved with working with external customers and are acutely aware of what good service looks like. Many times, I feel like I am being oversensitive or too reactive about service. But we discussed that the pillars to a restaurant is threefold: food quality, ambiance and service. This place has the first two qualities, but the service was bleh. I found our server to be somewhat aloof and arrogant. I was actually quite annoyed by him. But fortunately, my friend said something before I did about his service. He totally agreed with me. We chose Radice for our 3 year wedding anniversary dinner. We were early for our reservations but they sat us early which was very nice. Our appetizers came out pretty quick but it took forever for our meals. At first we were told it would be soon and that there was a large party in the back room. But then we kept seeing other people who got seated after us getting their food. Our waiter kept apologizing and kept bringing us bread which was nice. We knew it wasn't his fault. We did finally get our meals, they tasted great. When we got the bill though, they definitely charged us more for our meals than what was listed. There waiter asked if I wanted it as an entree. I thought he meant for it to come out after the appetizers. I said yes. No where on the menu does it say that the pasta prices as listed are a small portion (non entree size) and no where on the menu does it say that the pasta has a higher price if it is "entree". That was very deceiving. You should list the prices correctly! I decided not to ask questions or argue about it because I didn't want to embarrass myself or my husband. I thought that maybe it's just an unwritten thing that when they ask if you want pasta as an entree at this restaurant then the price goes up. Also, it took forever for our food to come out and I was tired and wanted to go home. I ended up with a terrible stomach ache in the middle of the night and thew up. Probably food poisoning. My husband was sick the next morning. I will not be going back. I feel I paid too much for nothing. Thanks radice for ruining our wedding anniversary. I give 2 stars instead of 1 because the waiter was kind enough to keep checking on us and apologizing for how long it was taking. 1 star because the menu prices were deceiving, the chef basically forgot about us.
