EASILY THE BEST EMPANADAS IN THE WORLLLDDD!!! The Yaroa fries are out of this world, the chopped cheese is cooked to perfection, and they are even OPEN LATE !! One of the few places you can get a DELICIOUS SMOOTHIE at 1AM. They have the coolest owners ever and they really bring that New York bodega taste and feel. Absolutely fire.

Was so excited when I saw this near my adventure yesterday. Plenty of street parking but make sure you don't block anyone's gate! Upon walking up I realized it's a ghost kitchen/multi-kitchen situation so you actually order online. The service was quick and the people working were very kind and sweet. There's a little table so we sat out front to eat. Very cute hanging lights, but the storm messed up the lil patio covering. We ordered the: Chicken and cheese empanada: okay, crispy wrapper that's reminiscent of a wonton wrapper. the best part was oddly the mozzerella, great cheese pull, but seemed to be concentrated in one corner Chimi sauce: okay Chop Cheese: was okay, ingredients were fresh, was looking for a bit more flavor Overall it was only okay, but I would like to try a couple more things for another review

The late night munchies?!?! This is the place to grab you a few things. Located in a shared kitchen with multiple businesses in North Hollywood. Ordered three things from their menu to try out: 1. Dragonfruit Smoothie, made with almond milk, banana, strawberries, and agave. I love the stunning purple/reddish color it gives. It was literally so refreshing to have after a dance class. 2. 3 empanada special (2x chicken & cheese, 1x cheese), honestly I love how crispy and crunchy the texture of it, never really had crispy ones like these. The chicken & cheese had flavor and a perfect combo of protein with some creaminess and the cheese one by itself tastes yummy. These pair perfectly with the chimi sauce to give it the ooomph!!! 3. Chicken Yaroa Fries, I'm so big on potato's are those extra carbs hahah. Presentation wise and how it looks, it doesn't look appetizing because each element contains a similar color palette but it was tasty and has a burst of flavors. the chicken was cook nicely and was tender with each bite. So creamy from the cheese and the chimi sauce. Definitely, a good option to try and is a comfort food. I just felt really good eating it. Only come here if you want to eat delicious food that's comforting and full of flavor! Definitely recommend!!! P.S. You order with their QR Code/ on their app and pick it up when it's ready!

The food is excellent. That's without question. Fresh, ample, flavorful- and consistent with East Coast NYC style Dominican Bodega bites. Priced right, and open late- this will not disappoint. Top it all off with an incredible, warm and friendly staff- this ghost kitchen kicks up neighborhood favorite vibes. Worth a delivery order- or a stop by to grab a quick (and yum) meal!

This food is fantastic, and I can't wait to come back. I'll admit I didn't get to try food from the Dominican bodegas when I visited New York, so I felt like I finally got the chance coming here. What an awesome addition to my neighborhood! This is a little ghost kitchen style spot in a relatively empty building (there are a couple other restaurants here too, each with their own little space). You basically either order online or walk up and order at the door. I got to talk to the owner and he was super friendly and helpful while we figured out what to try. I wanted to get a bit of all of the best stuff while we were there, and I was not disappointed...we tried the mangu con Los tres gulpes, the classic chop cheese sandwich, and three empanadas. Everything was phenomenal, and the empanadas in particular were standouts for us - I'm still dreaming about the beef and cheese. One of my favorite recent finds and can't wait to try more of the menu.

Amazing food! I've tried a few things off the menu and I haven't been disappointed. You can tell they cook with their heart. Super friendly and fast. Also flan empanada!? Amazing!

The place is great! We had the beef empanada and cheese and beef empanadas! Delicious. The beef was amazingly seasoned and the cheese was nicely melted! We also ordered a chopped cheese and chimi burger! We were not disappointed! Definitely place everyone must try and keep coming! Everything we had was chef's kiss! To top this delightful cuisine, we had kimalito de coco. The most delicious coconut creamy icy. The owners are super friendly and provided such excellent customer service! We will be coming back soon!

Ive gone twice and really enjoyed the food I have tried. Sandwiches are on point. Cant get a chopped cheese no where. So they really come through with that Dominican flavor and NY style food. But the Flan empanada is a banger must try if they got it.

I went to an event that was catered by this place. And I must say, it was quite tasty. Their sandwiches were outstanding. The meat drenched with flavors did not disappoint. Regardless on if you're a vegetarian or love meat. They had it all. Also the empanadas, can we say yum. Everything was full of flavors and was a big hit. And the lemonade, perfect combo for everything. Now that I know about this place, it's time for a proper visit....

A big fan of island -Dominican food although it was overpriced compared to what you Can get it for on the east coast but what ever.. I went back to the counter to ask for hot sauce and the cashier told me it was a 1$ for hot sauce.. I said really? The owner, walked over very politely with a straight face and said we don't eat hot sauce on the island so it's going to cost 1$ What does one have anything to do with the other? I didn't understand her logic. I paused for a second and she said so would u like some hot sauce? It was some bottled generic hot sauce not even house made. I declined to order. The food was pre cooked , set in a steamer. Fast casual restaurant with a few tables Food was bland and subpar.

When I got on Yelp, I saw mixed reviews, especially comments about a woman being rude or having a bad attitude. Thankfully, we did not have that experience directly. I did briefly see her come out from the kitchen, we caught eyes, and she walked back inside. The ambiance was ok, good music , no customers at the time, but a few tables were dirty. The young man cleaned it right away . To be fair, I don't think the issue is primarily the young man taking the orders. He was kind, apologetic, and seemed to care, but the overall operation felt unorganized. Our order was incorrect three separate times. First, the drink order was wrong, but he fixed it and apologized. Second, we paid extra for mayo ketchup and garlic sauce in small 1 oz containers, but they were not placed on our tray, so we had to get up and ask for them. Again, he apologized. Then, when we received our tray, he let us know they had run out of lettuce and gave us potato beet salad instead, without offering us an option first. We ordered the goat stew plate and the grilled chicken plate, both served in to-go containers. For the plates, you get your protein, then a choice of green salad or potato beet salad, along with either white rice or moro rice, which is rice cooked with beans. We chose the moro rice. I've had Caribbean/Dominican food many times before, and it is usually packed with flavor, so I was honestly surprised that this was bland. This definitely feels like a coaching opportunity for the cook to taste the food throughout the cooking process, because a little seasoning and balance can make a huge difference. The grilled chicken portion was generous, and the plantains were delicious. The guanábana/soursop drink was also delicious, and the tamarindo had good flavor, though it had a lot of pulp/flesh in the cup. That said, the chicken and onion sauce were very bland and needed salt. For the prices being charged, the guest experience should feel more polished. Our total came out to $78 for two plates, two drinks, a small side of beans, and plantains. Pretty costly for what we received. Another thing that stood out was the napkins. When we asked for more, we were only given two additional napkins, which felt very stingy, especially when eating saucy dishes like goat stew. It just didn't feel like the best way to treat guests. As a chef and food safety professional, I also noticed behaviors that need coaching, including apron use when going into the restroom, lack of visible handwashing afterward, and bare-hand contact after scratching the head before touching food containers. These are important food safety habits that should be reinforced immediately. Overall, Karibbean Cuisine has good flavor potential and generous portions, but they need stronger operational structure, better order accuracy, improved guest communication, and tighter food safety practices. At this time, I personally would not come back, but I do wish them all the best in their business. I hope they take this feedback as constructive criticism and apply it in a way that helps the restaurant grow, improve the guest experience, and build long-term guests. If I see changes in the future, I would gladly give them another try. Until then, I truly wish them success.

Out of curiosity, I sent another message mentioning I "knew Drake," and suddenly I got a response within 2 hours--ready to take my order. That alone didn't sit right with me. When I asked to see a menu, I was told I was "wasting her time" if I wasn't placing a catering order. We briefly discussed dates, and I was told she was booked for the rest of the month. When I politely asked when she would be available, I was left on read with no response. She had no intentions of taking my order. It honestly felt like she only responded just to tell me "I WAS WASTING HER TIME‼." That interaction made me feel discriminated against, shamed, and honestly just sad. I truly feel like if I were a celebrity or had more money, I would have been treated with basic respect. I'm new to Los Angeles and was genuinely excited to try Caribbean food since we don't have it where I'm from. This experience really discouraged me. It even made me question myself and feel like something was wrong with me, which shouldn't happen from simply trying to support a business. Ambiance: The interior has a relaxed feel with beachy surfer themed decor. It has a clean modern feel with a bunch of tables featuring accent colored chairs. There is music in the background and a TV on the wall featuring surfing videos. Service: You order at the counter, they ring you up and you get the food brought out. You can see the kitchen as it's open. It was my first time and it was a simple and easy experience. Everything came out in a timely fashion. Food: Some of their specialities include the 20+variations of fried empanadas (meats, chicken, pork, veggie, dessert) that come in both savory and sweet types, as well as their speciality plates such as their Korean-style flat iron steak skewers and chicken satay. The sauces they serve with their empanadas are incredible and some of the best I've ever had such as their chimmi-churri, basil-aioli and sweet & sour Thai. I recently did the lunch combo featuring a choice of a 1/2 salad or 1/2 fries, choice of any two empanadas and a canned drink. I chose beef and Kailua pig empanadas; both were great, empanadas didn't break apart and were crispy, everything was seasoned well; the filling of the beef was a bit more than the Kailua pig however. Drinks: They have various drinks such as lemonade, juices, sodas/soft drinks, and some beers on tap. Parking: The lot is large and has ample parking depending on the day and time.
