The Bodega Delights staff was so amazing and warm, really made me feel like I was back east. I purchased beef cheese empanada, beef chimi, mangu con los tres golpes, morir soñando, green açaí bowl. You basically either order online or walk up and order at the door. I got to talk to the owner and he was super friendly and helpful while we figured out what to try. I wanted to get a bit of all of the best stuff while we were there, and I was not disappointed...we tried the mangu con Los tres gulpes, the classic chop cheese sandwich, and three empanadas. It was my first time trying the chicken empanada and let me tell you, I really enjoyed it, the flavors of the chicken along with the cheese and sauce were soo good! We also tried the smoothies. The green one did not taste green. It was divine and super healthy. My choice was the mango and it was a thick rich milk shake like experience which pleased me greatly. It is a ghost kitchen situation located in a very clean building with other food purveyors. There are 3 covered outdoor tables in the parking lot, which we used, but it's not a picturesque setting. First time here. One building with multiple kitchen locations. Parking is a small inside, outside the gate, and several parking spaces. I ordered the empanadas. I had a beef and chicken. I preferred the beef since I thought it was full of flavor and tightly packed. I also had a tropical smoothie, which was done as I waited for my food to finish cooking. You have to place your orders online via the site or Yelp, cheaper through the site! I was buying groceries at Amazon Fresh and placed my order when I got there. We met Evelyn and her son, Justin, Jr. As a Dominican, if I go to a Dominican restaurant, I order the most basic of items such as mangu (if you cannot handle the basics, you have no business venturing into something more diverse) which is boiled/crushed green plantains with sautéed red onions, and 2 fried sunny-side up eggs, and avocado (w/o the fried cheese and sausage aka Los Tres Golpes) because I do not want my cholesterol to rise), and our National drink Morir Soñando made w/orange juice, condensed milk, lemon, etc and a lot of ice. OMG!! Everything was wonderful!! Evelyn, generously, gave us her family recipe flan. It was made with the right amount of sugar. We also ordered a chicken and a beef pastelito (empanadas to non-Dominicans). Delicious!! Evelyn and family are the owners of this business. They were very friendly, warm and generous (typical for us Dominicans). In the near future, they will have a formal restaurant, and I am so looking forward to this.
