my first time here, I've heard so many things about loqui through friends and socials and i was not disappointed with my experience. First thing I noticed was the really pretty & spacious outdoor patio. When walking in, i was greeted by the gentleman who was taking the orders. The employees there are such a vibe and so welcoming. i got myself the pork conchinita bowl & it was absolutely deliciously fulfilling! The pork was sooo good! i love when they sprinkle cheese on top of the beans, so yum!! i most definitely wanna come back and try their other items on the menu!!
Our first time here, we drove all the way from the IE just to get a taste and we were not disappointed! The mushroom taco was my favorite, but I would order everything all over again. It's that good! Everything was a 10+. Fire!! Our order: ~ Mushroom Taco on flour tortilla: 5/5 ~ Achiote Chicken Bowl: 5/5 ~ Beans and Rice: 5/5 ~ Chips: 5/5 ~ Anaheim Chile Taco (1 flour tortilla and 1 corn tortilla): 5/5 ~ Jamaica Lemonade: 5/5 ~ Cucumber Lemonade: 4/5 Make sure you sign up for their loyalty account before ordering. You earn cash to use towards future orders. Refer a friend and the two of you will get a $10 incentive on your next purchase. My son has already returned for his 2nd time but at another location. He said the food was consistent and just as delicious as the first time. The spot is small, minimal, but very quaint LA style. Loved the artwork on the walls. A high top table inside with seating for 6 I think, and some window seats, but outside in the garden area there are multiple tables. The workers were very nice and friendly and helpful with answering any questions. The online ordering is very simple and easy to navigate. Parking lot gets full, but there is plenty of parking. The restaurant is right next to Pinkberry and in the same lot as Trader Joe's. Hold the door open for me, Loqui, because I'll be back soon!
Loqui Studio City is part of a small LA-based chain that serves excellent tacos and more. We recently dined here and the food was not only good, but the service was friendly and certainly knew their food. I was so hungry that I forgot to take pics, but don't hesitate to try any of their locations. Loqui is a hit! See the menu (which I did remember to photograph, LOL). Five stars for great chow!
Place is mid for the price. They used to serve much bigger bowls, but they've downsized the portions while keeping the same prices. The food isn't bad, but the value is terrible. Definitely not worth what they're charging anymore.
The Achiote Chicken Taco and Spicy Garlic Shrimp Tacos (if you like spicy) are delicious!! I got both with flour tortillas (which was recommended) and so glad I did. They are made in house and absolutely TASTY. The tacos are very flavorful and don't have too much sauce on it that it becomes overwhelming. They have 2 salsas to the right of the register, 1 is red and 1 is a dark ish green?? Unsure, but both great additions to the tacos. The ONLY downfall about this place is the parking. We came at 11:45am on Saturday and we will never do that again; it took 20 min to find parking, I almost gave up! But I don't fault Loqui for that, I just wish it was more accessible during prime hours. Will definitely be back at an off hour!
First time trying Loqui on cinco de mayo! Really cool spot in Studio City, I decided to do takeout but the seating inside really gave family style dining for some reason. I got the achiote chicken bowl and it was bomb! Whatever they seasoned that chicken with def did the trick. $15 for the whole bowl is reasonable given this economy and it was full of flavor! Service was quick and friendly, I'll be back.
This came off like a stripped down Tocaya, nice and clean Mexican bowls and such. We tried the chicken and pork bowls, both were pretty good but note that you will need to add some of their hot sauce if you want any kick of flavor at all. Most seating is outdoors, pleasant enough for being in a busy strip mall. My 5 year old daughter liked the rice and beans bowl. Worth returning to.
Loqui over Chipotle! Delicious! Everything I've had here from the tacos to the rice bowls have been hot, fresh, and delicious. The rice bowls are a good portion size, everything it includes is fresh & good quality. Even the flour tortillas alone that comes as a side is soo yummy, I could snack on that allll day. If you like chipotle, give this a try!
I stopped by this Loqui location with my wife to grab lunch. I been to their Woodland Hills location already so I already knew what I like. The plaza this place is in has limited parking and it can be tricky to find a spot so be aware. When I came, they were not busy at all. I was able to place my order of their Spicy Garlic Shrimp bowl and I asked for no beans or guacamole. I asked for lettuce instead and should've asked for more rice too. I also got to choose my side so I got corn tortillas. My wife got their cheese quesadilla. They made our food quick and we dined inside. The Spicy Garlic Shrimp is amazing, flavorful and delicious. My wife like the cheese quesadilla she got as well. The custom service here is amazing. They have indoor and outdoor seating at this location.
Food is good, tasty, and fresh. Their red salsa is delicious, I add it to everything. Their black salsa is good but I prefer that one with the spicy shrimp plate. Which is what sold me on this place. I always get a bowl, spicy shrimp, or birria, or achiote chicken, with flour tortillas on the side. All have been perfect. I'm not an avocado person but I always eat their guac here. Fresh and delicious. Some people compare this place to chipotle. I don't think there's a comparison. This place is a gem.

Finally, after several months of driving past this place, I got to try it with my son last night. This specific unit in the shopping plaza has been home to many different restaurants over the years. There used to be a Which Which sandwich shop several years ago, then it was a Nashville Hot Chicken spot and I think 2 other restaurants in between those two. We were excited to see what this place has to offer, especially with all the great reviews. Once you walk up to the entrance, you can see several tables and chairs outside, along with an additional shaded seating area that has some large picnic-style communal tables and benches. There's some nice greenery surrounding you as well that makes you (momentarily) forget about the hustle and bustle of Ventura Blvd., which is just a couple of steps away. We walked in and were greeted by Marvin who was very helpful, informative and knowledgeable about his job and the menu. He helped guide us to choosing our entrees and we both decided on the Half Chicken/Half Shrimp Bowls. The only difference was that my son asked for lettuce instead of beans, and I actually asked for a little side of lettuce as well. I always love to have some sort of salad with my meal! Oh, he also got corn tortillas and I got flour. As far as drinks go, I just opted for the Jamaica Agua Fresca, which was my first time trying something like this. It was so refreshing, tasty, and most importantly NOT TOO SWEET! The decor and artwork of the place definitely showcases Latin culture and history. We also asked Marvin what "Loqui" meant and he said it was a Latin word that meant "to say", or "to speak" and that they were speaking through their food, atmosphere, and service. Nice! The food arrived barely a few minutes after we sat down. Very fresh and presented nicely. It was absolutely DELICIOUS and we both devoured our plates and didn't leave a single crumb behind. The chicken was very flavorful, tender and perfectly cooked - as was the shrimp! The shrimp was just slightly spicy but they mention that on the menu. Marvin was actually nice enough to let me try a piece before ordering so I could decide if it was too spicy for me. The lettuce, beans, guacamole, pickled onions, rice - everything was perfect. Even the portion size is appropriate in my opinion, however it is a tad bit pricey. The only downside to our experience was the music, and even then it was not something that was bad enough to dock off a star or complain. There is only one speaker in the patio and we unknowingly sat under it. By the time it started bothering us, we were already deep into our meals and didn't feel like moving. I also don't know exactly what genre they were playing, but truthfully it wasn't too enjoyable and it was simply too loud. All in all it was a great experience and we will definitely be back to try more items. I love how flexible they are with customizations/substitutions and you can just adapt the menu to your liking. Looking forward to more meals at Loqui!

"Con Todo!" Absolutely love this place. We stumbled upon this spot on a Sunday before going to the Farmer's Market across the street. With the intention of just enjoying a refreshing michelada, we couldn't help but try the tacos. AMAZING. The staff is very friendly and the food was definitely made with love. I tried two of their popular dishes, the shrimp taco (you can choose between flour or corn tortilla) and the Achiote Chicken Bowl. Both the shrimp and chicken were seasoned and packed with flavor. The jamaica was refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness. They have a free parking lot but it can get crowded. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating! read more
Came for an event, and of course I had to try a few other things off the menu. I ordered the guac and chips, a chicken taco, and a watermelon margarita. I'd definitely pass on the guac and chips--it was just okay. The chicken taco on a flour tortilla, though? Top tier, probably the best chicken taco I've ever had. The salsa on it was straight fuego. The margarita was tasty and refreshing, but definitely on the strong side. I'll for sure be coming back to explore more of the menu. Fast, friendly service makes it even better! read more

Forget what you knew about a fast casual Mexican spot! This place is redefining what fresh and tasty Mexican food can be! Everything from Loqui is so tasty! Today I got the mushroom taco and a chicken taco, both had lots of great toppings! The guacamole also was extremely good and the perfect addition to any meal! The restaurant was super clean, and has a great outdoor area for dining! The staff were also very friendly! My favorite thing at Loqui is to mix their black salsa with guacamole, it's spicy but oh so delicious! If you're thinking of getting chipotle, think again and give Loqui a try! read more

Came in for a Yelp Elite experience and left a HUGE fan! Among the best tacos I've ever had! Menu is a bit limited, just tacos and bowls, as well as a few side options, but all proteins are covered. I wish there were burritos and Quesadillas with protein, but why mess with a good thing! Also, more drink options would be great, but the food is the star! I got a Beef Birria taco and a Pork Cochinita taco and, OMG were they delicious! Loaded and flavorful, the flour tortillas were perfection! Service was friendly and helpful, and it has ample, comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. I wish I was closer, I'd be in often, but I will return and recommend highly! read more

I've tried loqui a few times but only their tacos but this time I got a bowl and it was soooo good! So much better than their tacos I gotta say. Next time I would add more lettuce. The salsas are also really good I love the chip salsa it was so good I poured some over the bowl. The red salsa is also really good on top but I did not care for the salsa seca or the black salsa it was too smokey for me. The chips paired with the bowl were really good. They also have my favorite Jamaica drink it's the perfect mix of sweet and tart with being more on the tart side which I love. Never going to chipotle again! read more

My boyfriend and I finally tried this place after passing by it a few weeks ago. It's a modern, new-age fast food Mexican style restaurant. Think of Chipotle but with a fanicer Mexican twist. The offer various meats and vegan options that can be served in a taco or as a bowl. The restaurant has limited seating inside but a cute picnic style seating area outside. The restaurant was empty and there was one guy at the cashier. He was kind and patient as my boyfriend and I looked at the menu. We opted for a side of chips and guac to share, I ordered one Achiote Chicken taco with corn tortilla and my boyfriend ordered an Achiote Chicken taco and Beef Birria taco both flour tortilla. The tacos are larger then typical street style tacos and I like that there was an option between corn tortilla or flour tortilla. The corn tortilla option is cheaper than flour. Chips and Guac $7.50: Basic, was just a handful of chips and a dollop of guac. Nothing special about the chips, I've had better homemade chips. The guac lacked flavor and was too chunky. Achiote Chicken $7.49/$6.99: Flavorful but lacked the grilled char component. The chicken was juicy, smokey and had great spice to it. The pickled onions and cilantro added a fresh element to the taco. Didn't taste much of the salsa. A squeeze of lime would've elevated the flavor further. My boyfriend and I agreed that it would have been nice if they chopped up the chicken. It was huge pieces! Beef Birria $7.69/$7.19: Nowhere near a beef birria taco. Disappointing! My boyfriend didn't even finish it. "Cripsy cheese" was not crispy at all. Birria was dry and didn't taste like birria meat at all. Where is the spice and flavor?! Addition of beans was unnecessary. Overall I wouldn't eat here again. The food is overpriced. Loqui tries too hard to be hip and modern, they miss their marks on flavor. read more

Fortunately, the food is worth waiting for. Once you can place your order, the service is acceptable. The challenge is the staff are very focused with online/phone orders. I was the only person 'in line' and took 10 mins to place the order in person. However, the food is awesome and the outside patio ambience is quite nice. I wish the chips & salsa was gratis, but to be fair, Covid seemed to change that everywhere (please give more salsa than the 1 ounce portion though.) I'll definitely be back, but will probably order online from the patio. The Studio City location has been many restaurants over the years. Probably because parking is tough whereas you're competing against the Trader Joe's patrons in the strip mall. read more

We stopped in here for the first time the other day. Seems they just opened a month or so ago. Have to say, the flavors of the food were nothing short of fantastic! We ordered 3 different tacos on their signature flour tortillas (beef, chicken, shrimp) to test it all out and one of their hibiscus frescas. All the tacos had distinct flavors and were delicious. For those of you who aren't fans of spicy food or are sensitive to it, this may not be your place but I'm sure they could offer selections for the spice-adverse. The place is small but definitely mighty. They have a nice outdoor sitting area and parking is in the same complex as Trader Joe's and Sephora. Went in wanting a burrito, but my initial disappointment was long forgotten because the chicken achiote burrito bowl was so well done. The flour tortillas that you get on the side are made in house and are the perfect texture and pairing with the bowl. The pickled topping, fresh guac and beans were all very flavorful. I have tried Loqui twice now and I enjoyed both experience. We got the chips and salsa, chips and guac, chicken taco, and beef birria taco. Chips were so crunchy and fresh, salsa is also made so fresh, guac was amazing -- they give a good amount. We ran out of chips first than the salsa and guac (they are very generous with their portions). The chicken tacos had guac and picked onions in there. Chicken was very juicy and they did not skimp on the protein. Tacos are not the regular small size. They are a good size. The birria taco had melted cheese inside, does not skimp on the beef as well, onions, cilantro with lime on top. Tacos are not the usual pricing - $6-7 but portions are also big. They have options of dlour or corn tortilla as well. Everytime we come here, they make it so fresh. Their menu is small but they perfected their food. I have not yet to try the bowls but I can't wait to go back to try it. The store gives very minimalistic vibe but very clean. Just like their food, minimalistic but perfect. Service is always nice and friendly. We asked the cashier what their most popular items were and they said it was the chicken, beef, and shrimp. They answered our questions so nicely all the time. Came here last night with my boyfriend on our way back to OC. Cashier was very nice and attentive and we both got the spicy shrimp bowl. The ambiance was absolutely everything and was really cute. Once we got our food it was HEAVEN!!! I hate beans but this is my only exception. The shrimp was bursting with flavor and this place is waaayyy better than going to Chipotle or CAVA.
