Corn tamal (so good), zucchini pupusas, what I'm pretty sure was cactus pupusas. The bean empanadas (made with plantains instead of Argentine style wirh dough) was excellent. Thanks to Yelp, I found Vicki's Place for Ceviche! I have driven by it so many times (whynI live Yelp). Its a quaint family owned restaurant with personalized service. I opted for the mixed ceviche, and the portion, presentation, and quality EXCEEDED my expectations! And for the price!? The owners a sweet and offer warm welcomes. My first time eating at Vicki's place, we ordered papa a la huancaina, I was told they didn't have potatoes. What type of Peruvian restaurant doesn't have potatoes? I ask if they had potatoes for a Lomo Saltado, I was told they did had French fries ( frozen ) my Lomo Saltado was tasty but it wasn't authentic, it came with a red tomato sauce. We order 2 Chicha morada that were extremely sweet and lacking lemon juice, it was undrinkable. Service was good but the food was less than average. read more

This place was very cute small cozy place where you feel like you are eating a home cooked meal. The owner was very sweet and gave great service. I had the caldo de res which I really enjoyed but my mom had a shrimp soup that really sold it to us. We plan on coming back to try more items. I recommend giving it a try. read more

This hole in the wall restaurant not only offers delicious food, but also excellent service. From the moment you walk through the door you feel like you've entered your family home. I was a bit skeptical about a Salvi/peruvian fusion establishment, but I was proven wrong. I ordered the Lomo saltado and my husband ordered the revuelta pupusas from their Tuesday special menu. The meat in the Lomo was savory, juicy, and well marinated. The Ají sauce was too creamy not to my liking so I didn't use it on my dish. The pupusas were perfectly filled with revulta stuffing and not greasy at all. Their Maracuyá drink was also delicious, not sweet at all. We will be coming back soon. read more

Interesting worlds meet here. Salvadoran and Peruvian. Been here a handful of times and bounced around the menu. The pupusas are well balanced with masa and stuffings, all the flavors I've tried have been solid too. Queso y loroco still my favorite. The yucca frita y chicharrón plate is great too. And the pasteles (basically empanada) plate is good too. Lastly off the salvi menu that I've tried, the horchata. Classic! On the Peruvian side, I've only tried the lomo saltado. The marinade, the meat, and fries ratio, perfect. Only thing missing for me is the ají verde sauce. That missed the mark for me. Next time I'll try the appetizers. I'm more a take out and eat at home guy nowadays but they have a good amount of tables in the place. Service has been prompt when order timing even when they have a full house. Parking can be tight in this busy corner plaza but I haven't had an issue finding parking g the times I've gone. Looking forward to trying the salvi breakfasts soon. read more

I have been to Vickie's Place a few times now for takeout. The first time, I asked for recommendations from the friendly owners and ended up with beef stew and 2 pupusas. The beef stew was flavorful, hearty, and came with rice and some spicy slaw; it was enough to last 2-3 meals. I tried the spinach and shrimp pupusas, and I gotta say, they're the best pupusas I've ever tried! So DELICIOUS! Once, an order was wrong when I ordered on the phone, but it was still really good! I now order in person, and everything seems to be fresh and yummy...the pupusas are still my favorites! FYI: Prices are reasonable, and there's a parking lot behind and on the side of the building. There's an unmarked door from the parking lot. I'm so happy Vicki's Place is in my neighborhood; it's a great addition to Noho! read more

Ok. After two back to back visits, one yesterday 9/27, and todays 9/28, I'm ready to drop a review on this humble but suprisingly enjoyable place. My firt visit was just my wife and I, as we usually do in our hunt for a good, decent salvadorean place where to enjoy a good pupusa...before we invite our extended fam. On 9/27, I ordered two pupusas revueltas not expecting much; my wife ordered the same plus some platain empanadas. I hardly ever, maybe never, escept for one place in LA Downtow, eat more than one pupusa due to the very low quality of the food. Guess what? I ate both pupusas and one empana all in one sitting! They're not small either. They are high quality pupusas, extremelly fresh, very flavourful, and well priced. Today, 9/28/25, I brought the whole fam with me! This time I tried their carne guisada, and it did not dissspoint; my wife, going against my conventional wisdom not order diferent culture food, ei, peruvian, which both of us adored...in a totally diferent type of place...salvadorean...she went for the arros chaufa de camarones...!!! I've driven past this restaurant for a while now and finally decided to stop by. The service was great, our waitress was kind and attentive. I ordered the bistec with camarones and my partner and her mom ordered the lomo saltado mixto which comes with steak, chicken, and shrimp. The portions are very generous, neither of us could finish our plates. Both plates were delicious and had a home cooked feel to it. My mother in law is a self proclaimed lomo saltado connoisseur and says that this was the best she's ever had! We spoke to the chef/owner and praised his food and had a nice conversation with him at the end of our meal. I highly recommend giving this place a try. I came here for lunch and it was my very first time eating here. I just got over being sick and I really needed a caldo(soup). I ordered a caldo de gallina with an horchata. Everything was so fresh and very tasty. One thing I was very impress is with the service. The waitress that helped with was so polite and patient. She made suggestions about their menu. While I was sitting down eating I overheard other clients be equally impress with the service and the food. I will be coming back here again for sure.
