Ok so I don't write reviews that often but this place is AMAZING! I feel so cared for here and the entire staff is so welcoming. The workouts are very intense I was a D1 athlete in college and I've felt like nothing in the area really cut it around here. Let me tell ya BODI kicked my butt! The best part is that an hour workout goes by so fast because of the way they format their classes! I couldn't be happier with my membership. If I could give BODI 10 stars I would! It's the best HIIT training in Scottsdale. Nikki, Madi, Sarah, Kaleigh, and Harper are all amazing trainers. They really push you to your limits to get a great workout and have nothing but compliments for all of them. If you're in pursuit and motivated to achieve your fitness goals then this is the place for you. They even offer nutrition services through Madi and she's been really helpful for me to get me to my fitness goals. Nick is also awesome. He's one of the owners and Nikki's husband. You'll usually see him working out in the classes with everyone so it's nice to see the owners are involved and friendly with everyone. The Good: it is a really good workout. The Bad: you need to already be familiar with proper form for exercises as the instructors never come around and make suggestions and/or modifications. They are simply there to fly through the exercises at the beginning of class and then act as a cheer leader for the rest of class. The music can often be explicit. I want the music to act as a motivator, not a distraction. It is always extremely packed. This infringes even more on being able to properly do the exercises with the correct form (as you have no room to move in) and your desired weights. The Ugly: it's dirty. They allow men to go shirtless, which results in pools of sweat that you then get to rotate into when you reach their station. They refuse to address this situation. There is no wiping down of anything during or after classes. This is my biggest issue and I will not be back. read more

You can definitely get a good workout here but the classes are way too crowded for comfort. If you put your arms straight out and spun around you would whack about 10 people. Also not a huge fan of the online scheduling system, does not allow for much flexibility if you have a sporadic and busy schedule. read more

Ive been going to bodi classes since 2016 (back in the dark ages of the itty-bitty original studio and class sizes at around 20-30 people). I figured it's time for a very overdue review. The passion and dedication that Nikki and the bodi team have for their clients has always been clear, but COVID19 has made that even more apparent. Background info: I have my MPH in applied epidemiology. So I can't help but mentally critique every business's new safety measures and response to COVID19 when I walk in the door. I just took my first in-person class since the reopening and I could not be more impressed with how bodi has prioritized the health and safety of their clients. The time, energy, and money that must have gone into creating a safe environment, while also maintaining the energy and intensity of bodi, is unimaginable to me. Each person has their own 8x8 box (taped onto the floor to ensure people maintain appropriate distance) with a slew of equipment that varies in weight as you move from one side of the room to the other. What is in your box? You get multiple sets of individual weights, a box (for box jumps and so on), multiple resistance bands, a weighted medicine ball, ring for cardio moves, your own personal sanitizer, and more. No one else touches the equipment in your box which limits shared contacts. On top of that, the focus on sanitation, including availability of hand sanitizer and equipment sanitizer really is unprecedented (since that's the word we use now). This gym really is something special. They truly CARE about the health and wellness of their members. They care enough to keep workouts going online when going to the gym wasn't an option. They care enough to even continue that, now that it is. They care enough to always ask and engage members when they change things up. They care enough to spend a fortune on enough equipment for each person in class (48- if I did the math right) to have multiple sets of individual weights and other equipment to ensure everyone is safe while still getting a quality workout. And they care enough to put thought into every little detail of their client's health and wellness. That's clear in their response to COVID19 and that's why this place is truly like no other. read more

I love coming to BODI. It seriously kicks my tush in the best way possible. I leave every time with a YEEEAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! feeling. I honestly feel like I can do anything after finishing this class. The style of class is a circuit, you are in a group of 5-8 people depending on the crowd. You work your own pace and try to keep up with the true fitness rock stars. The music and coach keeps you motivated through the entire series. Then you swap over to the next move. It is pretty simple to follow. There are two classes -- pick either Sweat (for cardio) or Strength (for- duh!). Do not be mistaken, both will make you sweat!!! Come ready to crush it for a solid 40 minutes (you are given plenty of water breaks to catch your breath), and prepare to be sore the next day They are in the process of building a new spot which I'm excited about b/c currently the restrooms here freak me out a little and overall the space is just too tight for all the people who love this class as much as I do . My only suggestion is to keep it about 5 or 10 min longer. Since the first 5 minutes are warm up and instructions, I feel a little slighted when I'm leaving after just 45 or 50 minutes total. The price is par for the area, but still "up there", so I find real value when I get to work out hard for as much of the 60 minutes as possible (no matter how much I feel like I'm dying at the time). I bought a Groupon 10 pack awhile ago because I go full time to another group class gym and I wanted to switch things up. Bodi has the most amazing energy and music with great workouts and trainers! I prefer the strength classes because I do cardio normally, but the sweat is great too! The environment is everything to me and pushes me to work my hardest and they'll motivate you to want to do the same. The classes go by really quickly since you're never in the same spot long. I now come here once a week through ClassPass! Definitely recommend to everyone and anyone looking for a great workout. One little side note - ALL of the trainers do Bodi as their workout which I think says a lot about the gym. read more

I have to say, looking back at giving other workout classes/gyms I gave 4-5 star review to seems inappropriate since starting Bodi. Makes me wish there were 7 stars on Yelp I can use for this place. These classes are perfect. The instructors are perfect. Customer service is perfect. I love everything. The way the class is structured allows for the time to fly by, while you're working your ass off. And I mean working, this is a serious workout. They have Sweat and Strength classes, Sweat is more cardio. I really like this because it gives me the option to focus on what I want, leaning out and toning while losing weight which was my goal when I started. I take the 5 am classes with Sarah - if you asked me 3 months ago would I ever take a 5am class I'd laugh at you. These 5am classes are my new favorite and actually put me in a better mood for the remainder of the day - Sarah is a great instructor!!! Also - your first class is free, which is always a plus. They then have groupons for 10 classes which I LOVE because it truly gave me a feel of if I can really do this style workout, because of the 10 classes I was able to do I can't wait to sign up. I also love the "garage" feel to the workout and location, I hope that does not change. The layout can seem intimidating at first, but after 1-2 times I felt like a pro, I also am not embarrassed to do the "easier" version of some of the workouts which is super important to me since I have a bad back. Plus - they're moving to a larger location with boxing (omg yay). I recommend Bodi Scottsdale to everyone in the area over the other special class-like gyms here, and I've tried them all. read more

This studio allowed me to book a class, drive all the way out to the location only to show up and find the studio was closed. I mean, this is basic 101 stuff - and completely unacceptable that the studio can't even provide this simple level of customer service. Absolutely pathetic. I'll admit it. Shopping for a great gym can be a bit daunting. Many times in the past I've purchased overpriced, so-called gym memberships only to be bored to distraction after a week. But not at BODI and not with Nikki, no way. Nikki R-O-C-K-S! Literally! BODI's 400-watt sound system keeps me workin' like a crazy man as Nikki dishes out motivating encouragement Navy Seal commando style. Wow. I just can't say enough (except the time I painted extra zeros on the dumbbells...Nikki got kinda mad about that and she wasn't impressed that I could bench 5,000 pounds). Wanna build muscle? See Nikki! Wanna lose the blubber? See Nikki! Wanna be in the best shape of your life? See Nikki! Wanna be prepared for the Zombie Apocalypse? See Nikki! Imagine look of terror in the eyes of the Zombies when they get a load of me! Shock and awe, my friends, SHOCK AND AWE! The only real negative has been that no matter how much I beg, plead, threaten, cajole, inveigle, coax or flatter, Nikki refuses to offer complimentary cupcakes after each workout (like Madi does). I've created a Facebook page to bring awareness to this awful cupcake situation. But aside from that, a great gym and a great trainer. The only easy day was yesterday!! read more

That's true, 5-stars! As good at it gets. BODI is a real gem! A well priced gym for the area and a real bargain if you experience the kick-ass classes here. It is easily the best gym that I've ever set the foot in. The owner Nikki is a Nike certified coach, and is very passionate about fitness. It is also very cool that it is a locally owned business and not some corporate chain like the other options in the city. I mean how many gyms, let alone businesses in general these days can you find the owner knows her members by name! You can't go wrong here. My first class when I walked in there, the studio looks amazing. It is very contemporary and full of positive energy. There are primarily 2 sets of classes - Sweat & Strength. Both classes have different kind of workout circuits. And eventually I noticed that the Sweat & Strength classes individually can be so different from the previous day. The muscles and the mind stays confused and I'm NEVER bored with the workouts. There is always more I can do with an exercise (add more weight, do the exercise quicker, more reps) or less, hehe, if I'm not up to par yet. I feel muscles I've never really felt before. That's a big attribute to Coach Nikki. She is full of energy & that gets all of us pumped up too. She is providing, what I call a true personal training in a group setting. What I really appreciated was the size of the classes. They're small enough for your trainer to watch you and make sure you're performing the exercises with correct forms. Nikki is consistently demonstrating the right way to do the exercises as well as levels 1,2 & 3. You never feel like you're getting lost in the crowd. Nikki will adjust training to your level of fitness expertise. If you're a "rookie," then she will teach you the proper techniques to get you started. If you're a "pro," then get ready to get your ass handed to you cuz this aint no joke! #duh Her ability to push us to our own ability is very admiring. In a short 1-week of taking the classes at BODI, I can recall 5 things I've done in a class which I would not have dared to OR thought I couldn't. And now, I want to do more of it. A true mind/body/spirit improvement. The class timings are set such a way that we have an option to workout before we go to work, or after work. The gym is available anytime of the day for the members to come and do the workout on their own & Nikki is there to help & guide & will have the circuit ready for you. The gym is very clean, the restrooms & showers are impeccable and the bottled water is provided. It doesn't hurt to try it--I tried it and I'm hooked! :) read more

This. THIS. This is exactly what I've been looking for in a fitness studio. A challenging workout that changes every day, draws a great group of people, and feels welcome to absolutely anybody who is brave enough to walk through the door in voluntary acceptance of a veritable ass kicking. Nikki - you have made this place into something truly fabulous. The workouts burn. And sometimes I feel like I'm gonna throw my heart up, just a little bit. And sometimes doing an exercise for a 4th round of a mere 30 second interval makes me want to throw my hands up and say "F*#@ it, I'll be fat." But that is oddly what is so addicting with each hour you spend here. It's challenging, but so fast-paced you don't have time to talk yourself out of squeezing out that extra rep. And you're not the only one turning red and puffing at the cheeks. Looking around the room - NO ONE can make this workout look easy or effortless. We all look like we've been passed through a washing machine. It's a group effort. Though I also purchased the Groupon deal, I anticpate breezing through my 10 classes pretty quickly and defintely plan on being a full fledged member. When you're already a decently fit person, the marvel of being sore after every workout is priceless. read more

I found this gym through a living social deal and I was happy it was so close to home! Every time I walked through the door I knew I was in for a great workout. Nikki, the gym owner and instructor, is full of energy and really cares about every person, trying to get to know all her clients. She's a real sweetheart that knows how to kick your butt in a workout! I'm a huge fan of circuit training and constant movement during my workouts so this was a perfect fit for me. The only down side for me is the cost. After my living social deal ended I was not able to continue working out there because I personally can't afford to spend that much monthly for a gym membership. I been coming here since May and I just can't get enough!!! I been coming 2-3 x a week Sweat class and I have lost over 10lbs but most importantly I've lost a lot of body fat% and gained a lot of muscle. It's pretty challenging but why would I come if it was easy?? I luv the challenge and all the different exercises that are constantly switched up so I'm never bored which was a problem for me in other classes and studios. I luv how they mix it up. #newyear #newme... Yes at this time of year, thats everybody's goal. I have heard lots of great things from clients of mine, so I wanted to check it out. Now being a bigger girl you are always scared of looking dumb, being left behind, or it just being way too hard. But my coworker convinced and said lets try it! So first off, I love the ease of use to book online, super easy! Love it! They even have classes that are free like stretching and running stairs. What? Thats pretty awesome, but not doing stairs... YET! ha! So our first class with Madi, she was super awesome from greeting us, explaining what, who where, and what. The best part was when she'd give an exercise, shed give different levels, cant do a burpee, do this or that instead. So its works for every level! You adjust it to what you are comfortable with and build it up to the "real exercise" (Thats what I call the hard level) So you go through all these different workouts and stations, and every time you do its different. Which keeps things interesting, and has you wondering all day, I wonder what exercise is going to kill me today. :) Its a good kill tho! BUT my most favorite part of this studio, is the instructors, classmates, and overall attitude. It is super like team work, encouraging, and everyone is so nice! And if a veteran sees you doing something wrong or struggling, they help you and encourage you. The encouragement from the staff and fellow classmates, is what has kept me coming back, and will continue to long after my special runs out. I cannot wait till I can do this like 2-3 a week instead of once a week. I highly recommend this fitness studio anyone looking for a fun great way to get in shape, or get back in shape. I used to go to the Nike Training Center in Chicago and take classes with Nikki. When she told us last December she was moving to AZ to start her own gym, I was sad I wouldn't get to work out with her anymore. Lo and behold, work took me to the Phoenix area for a few days and I immediately looked up Bodi. With the short-term membership options, it was an easy choice to go in each morning during my trip! Nikki is one of the most motivating instructors I have ever taken a class with. She has such a positive attitude, and fosters an environment where you know you're getting the most out of your work out but aren't killing yourself trying to keep up with the person next to you. The gym itself is clean, bright, and welcoming. The classes are fantastic - Nikki knows how to maximize a work out. I met Nikki at a photo shoot. She invited me to my first Scottsdale Bodi class which is a big deal because I'm not the typical BODI client and I'm so glad she did. The class was tough for me at that weight, I was heavy, and I didn't work out. I can't say enough about how great everyone was to me and made me feel like I belonged to a community. Going to BODI is like going to a PARTY! Bought a pair of pants (in my regular size) before I started going here and a few weeks later going through airport security without a belt they fell down. Like, seriously FELL. I had to grab them and hold them up before TSA grabbed ME and flagged me as some kind of new Pants-Off Terrorist. "Sir please pick your pants up and step over here." OK. That's an exaggeration. (TSA would NEVER say PLEASE...) BODI, though. I'm serious. These girls are hard on you, but they are not hardasses. You're gonna work hard and you're gonna LOVE IT. They're friendly and very very professional and good at creating a great motivating environment. For EVERYONE. And they're informed. Okay so I will start off by saying I'm an ex-bodybuilder who is a total snob about gyms, group workouts, etc. and this place is just, wow! A friend of mine (shoutout to Mallory) told me this place was amazing, and I was not disappointed. I've been training myself the last three years and to be honest, my routines have gotten stale. I needed someone to kick my ass and that's what I got. The class is at your pace, you lift what you're able, and while there is a huge amount of motivation, no one is pushing you too hard to the point of injury. Was in town for a month and needed a place to workout. We found BODI, and WOW! What an incredible studio. Quality of the workouts is top notch. The teachers, Nikki and Madi were amazing. Such high energy and great motivators. Nikki was especially kind in showing us around the first time we came and giving us the lay of the land. Each circuit is different, everyday is different. In my opinion SWEAT is slightly harder then STRENGTH, but both are incredible workouts! When I maybe move back here in 2017, I will definitely be getting a membership. Love the workouts here and echo all the positive reviews on how this place will challenge you and help you obtain your fitness goal. The place is full of energy and I love working out to great music BUT the reason for the 3 stars instead of 5 is because the music that is played is all unedited and often times explicit and vulgar. I found it to be more of a distraction and made for an uncomfortable experience for me more than an energy booster. My only suggestion is for the owners to switch to the clean versions of the songs played (similar to what you would find while shopping at a hip store in the mall). If that were fixed I would be 100% satisfied! read more

I was just in town for a few days and took two Strength classes with Nikki. By FAR the best high intensity circuit training class I've ever taken! The energy in the room was amazing and both workouts were completely unique, fun, and challenging. As you rotate through all exercises you'll get a full body and cardio workout. I recommend this class to anyone and everyone! Most exercises had multiple variations as well; this way, you can make sure the workout fits your abilities. I created a Yelp profile so I could write this review! My boyfriend and I recently relocated to AZ and were struggling to find a gym. I wanted something that provided the same endorphins and sweat as my previous spin and hot yoga sculpt classes. He was looking for something with a structured strength training focus. We're grateful to have found BODI and Nikki! Nikki has an amazing positive energy that makes you smile even when she's kicking your butt. She learns everyone's name on their first visit. Her energy encourages a welcoming team environment that I haven't experienced at other gyms. Both the Sweat and Strength classes provide a challenging workout. Modifications are offered and demonstrated. There is a wide array of dumbbells & kettlebells to choose from. Expect box jumps, burpees, ropes, bands, pull ups, squats, deadlifts...a lot of body weight intense training with cardio option. With strength option you still are working at a higher intensity but with dumbbells incorporated. Love the community and positive vibes! read more
