Octane is becoming one of my favorite hours of the day! It's intimidating when you first walk in, but it gets easier because of the climate and culture of this facility. The coaches are positive, knowledgable, and patient. I really feel that they genuinely want me to be better. The members I have interacted with are very welcoming! Because of their example, the members have motivated me to push myself in the workouts. I am in awe all the time. In my short time as a member and a CrossFit athlete (as we are referred to-which makes me feel really cool too), I have had the privilege to witness many firsts and it is truly inspiring! I am an introvert and instantly felt comfortable showing up to this gym. The coaches and all the members made me feel welcome. I've now been a member for over a year and only feel more at home. I love showing up almost every day to do the workouts with friendly faces and have the confidence to welcome new members as they show up. The workouts are ALWAYS challenging but can be scaled for everyone at all levels of fitness. I have never gone to another CrossFIt gym but now have very high expectations for when I am in need of one while out of town. Octane CrossFit is amazing! I was anti-CrossFit for as long as I had known about it. My brother had tried to get me to do it for a long time and I always had an excuse. I finally gave in and tried it and I will never look back. I love the structure of a CrossFit workout. I know that I can plan to be there for 1 hour a day and get in an awesome workout in that time. But what I love even more is the community and how I have met some really great people and made friends through this CrossFit family. We travel and visit boxes wherever we go, most of the time you receive good coaching. On occasion we come across a box that we really jive with and there is exceptional instruction. Octane CrossFit is one of the occasions for us. On top of the great workout and A+ instruction we had a long discussion in regards to Crossfit health related initiatives. I can probably count on one hand the amount of places where I've felt like I actually belonged and I very eagerly count Octane as one of those places. I started CrossFit just a little over 8 months ago and I can honestly say it's changed my life in more ways than just helping me look better naked! The owners Regan and Andrew truly built something special. I have tried several Crossfit gyms and just never found a fit. Either I wasn't pushed enough or I was pushed too hard with too little instruction. Was travelling with a group of 6 people from Toronto to Phoenix and looked up a bunch of crossfit gyms in the area before our trip. Octane was far and away the most responsive and friendly in my research. The owner Regan, was super helpful with travel tips and was extra accommodating to the group. We end up popping in 3 times in the week because we had such a good time. The coaches were awesome and the atmosphere was fantastic. Could not have asked for a better place to drop in at when away on business. Owner is knowledgeable and friendly and the box was SUPER clean which is a pet peeve of mine. I started working out at this box in dec of 2015, I could not do a pull up and I could hardly do a 10 pushups. Andrew and Regan are the two coaches and they worked with me every step of the way to make me feel comfortable with crossfit. The owners/coaches are knowledgeable and engaging and their are a variety of options on classes. I used to be a standard gym guy that would just go the to gym without a game plan. I went to their 5a classes and Meredith was awesome. She treated me just like their other members. She was very thorough in her coaching as I learned a few tips. I love this place! I was super bored going to the regular gym and wanted to try something different to push myself. The owner, Regan, was incredibly helpful and I got to catch one of his coaches in action, who was extremely attentive to her class and ensured safe movement. Great Facility! Everyone there was so personable and cared about me getting in a good workout. I did the Thursday 4:00pm class, and was able to stick around and had plenty of space for my own lifting afterwards. The coach lent me gear for the workout that I didn't bring on the trip.
