Overall, good to very good, with extra points for service and value. But some tragic culinary flaws. Arrived 8ish on a July Friday, and were seated on the patio almost immediately. The restaurant was about 2/3 to 3/4 full. The service was helpful and attentive; more or less perfect. Freshly baked bread & starter olives w/ oil arrived promptly, as did the beer & wine. And the San Pellegrino. My better half's Lamb Tagine was *very* good or better -- a carnivore's delight. Other items were good, but too oily -- they DESPERATELY wanted more acid to elevate them: - the mediterranean salad - the roast branzini (suggested by the server, and otherwise yummy good) - the lightly sautéed (?) vegetables which accompanied the fish (and which were otherwise absolutely delicious) The desserts (chocolate torte, baklava -- both with a small scoop of vanilla) were very good. The value was excellent. I'd certainly return, but would stay with traditional lamb, beef or (maybe) chicken entrées. If yelp had a ten point scale (AND THEY SHOULD), Bodrum would easily rate a 7. If you are considering delivery - then Bodrum is a FIVE STAR, otherwise, its a four star. Delivery comes quickly, always nicely packed, hot, fresh and accurate. We have made plenty of special requests - they are always honored. Top hits: Manti is addictive, the yogurt sauce is perfect; lentil soup is as good as anything in Turkey - perfect with the bodrum bread; all kebabs BUT the beyti. The beyti is packed into a pita and not that meaty. The salads are all nice. The sigara and mucver are good, but better to order in rather than takeout. The stuffed cabbage is surprisingly light and flavorful. I like the chicken pie app, but watch out, there is a lot of powdered sugar on the top. The dishes that are medicore are the moroccan main dishes, like the tagine. Also, the hummus is very uneven, last time I got it, it was almost inedible. So, I avoid the mezzes. I had a lovely time here. It was a bit noisy and the waiters could have been a little quieter with the dishes but the food was amazing. Everything tasted very fresh. I went with to other people my friends said the lamb shank was a little over cooked but it's all personal preference. My other friend said the moussaka was more puréed but had good flavor. Came here with my husband after work. Everything was delicious. He had the lamb kabobs and I the chicken. They were both scrumptious.

Great mezze sampler platter (albeit a bit pricey for the portions), with each dip and tiny fritter tastier than the last. Wonderful shepherd's salad with feta, served with perfect turkish bread. The salad also isn't very large in size, even if you go for the "large" option. I went for brunch yesterday and had the pleasure of sitting outside in the glorious sunshine. I meet my companion for dinner. She is sitting by the left wall, in a booth that displays a mirror. There are candles lit. We order wine: Snap Dragon, Pinot Noir. I move from my chair, to sit next to her at the booth. There is very little room between our table and the next, but we are tiny women. After talking for a few minutes, we kiss--not raunchy, but deep, intense. New diners--an older (hetero) couple--come sit to our right, and the manager comes over: "This isn't going to work." We comply, and I move back to my chair. We order the rest of our food: Imam Bayildi [Decent, but the eggplant was lost in oil and onions.] Holland eggplant stuffed with caramelized onions, pine nuts, parsley, and garlic. Mediterranean [OK--lacked character.] Tomato,roasted peppers, crumbled French feta, red onion and arugula. Moroccan Fish Tagine [I'm vegetarian, but my companion enjoyed it.] Spiced seasonal fish with preserved lemon, olives and vegetables. We continue our conversation as we dine. After an hour, new diners--this time two women--come sit. They are discussing a play, and I inquire about it. A brief conversation ensues. We are enjoying ourselves. We are done and ask for our check. While waiting, I sit next to my companion again. The table to our left was empty, so there was more room. We share a kiss again, and the manager comes over: "I'm going to have to ask you not to do that." My first response is to laugh. The two women next to us say, "She means, can you be a little more hetero. We didn't mind." And we continue to laugh about the situation and analyze it for nuance. My companion says, "That's happened to me before...in rural Connecticut." We don't expect this in New York City. We have kissed in restaurants and public places before. It was never an issue. We were not inappropriate. "I want to give her [the manager] the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she would have said the same if one of us was a man," I say. We joke about asking one of our straight couple friends to dine here to see if they are asked to stop. We tip our waitress the regular 20%, as she was not the issue. Upon leaving, we hold arms while laughing about what a sad life that woman manager must have to be flustered by two women kissing. We won't be returning, obviously. My friends were drinking bottles of Chardonay ($36/each), Efes Dark and Peroni ($6.50/each). Since I didn't drink, I concentrated on the warm Turkish bread (excellent and addicting) that was served with olive oil and the Mediterranean Specialties sample plate of appetizers which included Sigara Borek (Crispy rolled Turkish filo stuffed with French feta & chopped parsley), Hummus (Mashed chick peas, tahini, garlic, drizzled with extra virgin olive oil), B'stila Djej (Filo pastry stuffed with almonds, chicken, fresh herbs, sprinkled with cinnamon & sugar powder), Turkish Patlican (Lightly spiced cubes of eggplant cooked with chopped tomatoes, peppers, garlic & fresh herbs), Babaghanoush (Charred smoky eggplant mashed with extra virgin olive oil & tahini) and Lebne (Strained yogurt mixed with walnuts, garlic & fresh dill). A DINNER SPENT SWATTING AWAY FRUIT FLIES: We stumbled upon this place last year, and had a fantastic meal, filled with wine and scrumptious Turkish food... We had just gotten back from Turkey, from Bodrum in fact.... and its was a fun little place for us to remember all the new dishes we tried on our trip. So on a recent summer's day, we decided to return... and it turned out to be a real let down. Not sure what happened in a year, but the food was not what we remembered, with much to be desired... And the insane amount of fruit flies buzzing around really pulled us from the evening. I mean, we were literally swatting them away with every bite... We even moved our seat, hoping they were just hanging out in one spot.... they were in our new table too. We killed many of them with our napkins... one even found its way into my wine. We should have gotten up and left... for that many fruit flies to be buzzing 10 ft off the kitchen can't be a good sign.... ****** We will not be back, unless the establishment can convince us otherwise. nice, romantic decor. it was not too busy, which made it easy to carry on a conversation. it smelled wonderful when i walked in, i was told that the mezze sampling plate was a must, so my husband and i decided to share one and it was fantastic. it only came with one b'stila djej (fillo stuffed with spiced chicken) and that made me sad, because it was so freakin delicious! everything on the sampling plate was very, very good. we also shared the adana kebab (ground lamb) and it was also very tasty. we will come here once a week now and definitely share the mezze sampling plate again (with an extra order of b'stila djej) and maybe try another entree. we loved it! read more

The waitress was nice, but we had to wait fairly long for bread, our food, and the water. It was a nice atmosphere, perfect for a Saturday: not too loud and not too crowded. The food is good, especially their bread. I had the panini, which was very good, but a little bit pricy ($11). We came here on fathers day....after walking around wondering where to go where came across this. i quickly looked it up and though we'd give it a go. So usually love the place. Tonight went to meet a friend at 6pm, the hostess told me we had to be out by 7:30 it was a busy night, no problem. Enjoyed catching up with my friend, paid check and was just finishing our wine when an irate customer came up and started yelling we had made her wait a half hour for HER table and started mocking my friend's laugh. I looked at my watch. It was 7:40. Ok, we got up, the hostess came over as we were putting on our coats and I asked why she hadn't just asked for table at 7:30? Why send a customer over to yell? She was like "it's not our policy to ask people to leave" I said "I was waiting for you to say you needed the table" as there were many empty and I assumed it wasnt time yet to leave. I had words with the rude customer on my way out but honestly the way the hostess and waiter allowed this to happen after we spent money and were enjoying ourselves was just horrible.
