Top tier upscale comfort food. I got the lamb and chicken plate and it was quite delicious. The lady who waited our table was very attentive and kind. I would definitely come back when I'm in the area.

Wow I am such a fan!! We were looking for a casual dinner spot and Sophra Grill was highly rated, so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant has a charming and cozy interior, and there are around 10 tables inside. There was no wait on a Sunday night, and service was friendly, quick, and attentive:-) The food was AMAZING. I haven't had a ton of Turkish food so branched out with a few new items. It was my first time trying Red Lentil Soup, and it was so tasty! The pureed lentils gave it a nice, thick texture and there was a nice acidity to the dish! I would compare it to a thicker (and better) tomato soup for people that haven't tried before. From Sophra's reviews and pictures, I really had my eye set on one of their brick oven items. We landed on the Lahmacun, and it did not disappoint. The lamb and veggie spread was nice and thin, and the crust was perfectly crispy! They pair with some veggies on the plate as well, and all the flavors paired so perfectly together. For a dish we were more familiar with, we went with the Mix Lamb & Chicken Gyro. The meat was tender and juicy, and the portion was generous as well! Sophra Grill is getting added to the rotation of delicious and reliable restaurants in the area!! Highly recommend to everyone!

Got the gyro platter and it hit the spot. The flavor was great and the sauces they gave were paired great with it too. You can tell the bread and side dishes were all super fresh and made fresh too. It's a nice casual sit down but also a great option for takeout if you want to too. There were lots of families sitting and eating together too and it made for a great environment.

Absolutely amazing spot for Turkish food in Murray Hill. It was close to my hotel, so I figured to stop in. I'm so glad I did. I got to try a variety of different items, inducing: ayran, chicken Adana sandwich on home bread, Turkish tea, and rice pudding. The ayran was probably the best I've ever had in my life. It was so refreshing, the perfect amount of salt, so good. And it's homemade. I would highly recommend you try this drink regardless of what you order, it's that good. The chicken Adana sandwich was also quite nice. The chicken was fresh and well seasoned in a good portion with some lettuce, onions, tomatoes as well. The bread was great. It's served with two wonderful, flavorful sauces: hot sauce and yogurt sauce (I much prefer the latter). Portion is incredible for the price. Then, I was initially interested in trying the fig pudding for dessert but they were out of it, so I went with the rice pudding. Again, a huge portion that is well worth the price. So creamy, so good. And, they brought out 2 Turkish teas for free to make up for not having the fig! The people are just very nice here, and the tea was also lovely, piping hot and just perfect. It's a pretty small restaurant but doesn't get crowded early on. They were playing some Turkish music while I ate, and I really enjoyed it. The people are very kind and attentive and the food is just incredible. Must try!

Was really craving Turkish food so I came to this place for dinner. The inside was small but cozy and the waiter was super inviting and kind. We ordered the Lahmacun since they recommended it and also a chicken gyro platter to share among 2 people. They gave some free bread as an appetizer which was fluffy and warm. The Lahmacun were huge!! Each flatbread was super thin and crispy with a smear of ground lamb, onions, and peppers mixed with spices. I usually am not a fan of lamb but this was delicious with no gaminess. The gyro platter was also huge, piled high with sliced chicken gyro on rice and some nice salad on the side. The food was delicious and well worth the price. Will def be back again!

I found this spot after googling for Mediterranean food near my job. It had enough tables for my co-worker and I to choose and is very clean. The staff was very accommodating and friendly when we asked about their food and drinks. I decided to go with a falafel and Turkish tea, which were a gift from the food gods to my belly. I also recommend the Turkish coffee, which I've had during my second visit. In overall, I highly recommend if you're in the mood for Mediterranean food.

After reading other reviews I decided to try this place, and I am so glad I did! We stared with the lentil soup, which was absolutely fantastic!!! Also the sigar borek which was delicious. For our main dishes we had the doner plate which was perfectly seasoned and fantastic and also spinach Pide which was also delicious. I have been and written reviews for many Turkish restaurants and this place is very near the top. I highly recommend it, the food made my taste buds do a dance in my mouth! I absolutely will be back.

Been here recently for lunch and its amazinggg. The food tastes soo good and serving size is huge. Very authetic and freshly cooked. Service is nicest- also a walk from 33rd street station. Tried their Feta cheese rolls for apetizer which were great. Their Shish kabab platter and mixed plate were delicious. Comes with rice and salad and just the cherry on top! Will defo go back for more deliciousness!

It's a casual restaurant I stopped by with friends at. Service is friendly and prompt. Ranks a bit low on cleanliness. I noticed some lint on the plates and crumbs on the seats.. In any case, the food is good. My friend who orders shepherd's salad exclusively at Turkish/Mediterranean restaurants vouched for its quality. I couldn't tell you there was a difference except I found it quite fresh. The babaganoush was smoky and delicious! I ordered an okra tomato rice dish which was savory with the rice. They didn't have much of other vegetarian options for entrees so I had hoped for more.

But I'm very glad I got this now so I don't have to care about how long that potential line would be. It was around 20-25 minutes before we ordered and got our food. I had the mix platter - which consists of lamb and chicken over yellow rice with pita and lettuce. To that I added fries, white sauce, and hot sauce. Although the hot sauce was weirdly just missing. I guess they forgot it. I just have to mention the portion first. This is a gigantic amount of food. Anyone who can finish all of this in one sitting has either just had a bacchanalian night of drinking or has appetite of a mammoth. I respect them either way. But I got two-thirds through this before tapping out. Sometimes with huge portions you see the volume being disproportionally overstuffed by copious amounts of rice, but here they had equal portions of lamb and chicken as well. It's truly an equitable extravagance. Outside the portion, I really liked the taste as well. The fries were a fantastic addition I would recommend to everyone coming here - as they mixed in with the rice to add that extra textural crunch (they actually stayed crispy basically the whole time). The lamb was quite fatty and very juicy. The chicken was mostly standard, but decent still. I liked the way the pita gave you a different way to eat rather than just with a spoon - so you could mix up the eating mechanisms. The first thing you need to do is mix everything together; that's how you get the white sauce to coat everything. And this white sauce is really good. I really wish they hadn't forgotten the hot sauce as it would've added the necessary spiciness to how rich and garlicky the white sauce was. For just 13 dollars ($3 addon for the fries) this is an incredible deal. Probably some of the best value you can find in Midtown. Overall, this place that justifies a lot of the hype. I will say I wouldn't wait more than 30 minutes in line for this, but if it's less than that - I'll be jumping at the chance. 9.25/10

I ordered the burger with cheese, and everything about it was perfect. The burger itself was THICK, incredibly juicy, and cooked beautifully. You could immediately tell that the meat was high quality, and knowing that they use Creekstone beef made it even better. The flavor was rich and beefy without being overwhelming, and every bite was incredibly satisfying. The patty had that perfect combination of a beautifully cooked exterior while still being extremely juicy and tender inside. And the bread deserves its own paragraph! The brioche-style bun was excellent. It was soft, slightly buttery, and substantial enough to hold the thick patty without falling apart or becoming soggy. It complemented the burger perfectly rather than taking away from the meat. The combination of the juicy Creekstone beef, melted cheese, and that excellent brioche-style bread was honestly phenomenal. What really stood out to me was how substantial the burger was. This wasn't one of those thin burgers where you finish it and immediately feel like you could eat another one. It was thick, hearty, juicy, and incredibly flavorful. Every bite felt like you were getting exactly what you want from a great burger. The fries were also excellent. I really appreciated that they weren't overly fried or greasy. They had a great texture and were crispy without feeling heavy or excessively oily. Sometimes fries can completely overwhelm a meal because they're so fried, but these were much more balanced and paired perfectly with the burger. Overall, Friedman absolutely exceeded my expectations. The burger, especially with the cheese, was outstanding, the Creekstone beef was incredibly flavorful, the brioche-style bun was excellent, and the fries were the perfect accompaniment. If you're in NYC and love burgers, this is a must-go-to. I would absolutely order this burger again and would highly recommend Friedman to anyone looking for a thick, juicy, high-quality burger.
