I decided to step in to Body & Brain Yoga a couple of months ago, just for a drop-in class.

I found this studio via MindBody and gave their first class a try. I tried their basic yoga class…read moreand PHEW was it hard! The owner was our instructor that day and it is clear how passionate it. This isn't a CorePower it's traditional yoga which was a breath of fresh air given my current practice is at CP. I really felt unit 108 cared about my mental well being in pushing me to the next level of my yogi practice. He cared to encourage me to try new poses, fall and picked me back up. He also adjusted any posture I had that was off. I left the class feeling refreshed and confident! The entrance was a bit hard to figure out but eventually i saw you buzzed in and walked up the stairs it was easy to get to the studio. If i lived in the area this would be my go to yoga place. Give it a try! BONUS POINTS: It's next to Baked in Brooklyn so grab a bagel after your class.

As I am new to the neighborhood I was looking for a new yoga studio to practice at. I found Unit…read more108 yoga while walking around and saw that they had new client specials, unlimited classes for one week + 1 day for $25, can't beat! The community is very welcoming and the owner, who recently took over the space from I Am Yoga, is very friendly and cares a lot about the space and bringing wonderful teachers to lead the community in their practice. I am enjoying the variety of classes they have and look forward to seeing the community grow.

Love training at Qi Tao. I arrived as a total tai chi newbie, and Sifu Tzyann started me with the…read morefundamentals (posture, the "tai chi walk," breathing), which was fun in itself, and then quickly started me on my first form. Alongside an all-ages group of welcoming students, I was able to learn the 24-move form, the 40, and the beautiful sword form. The forms are like calming, moving meditations I can settle back into whenever I'm feeling tense or anxious. Sifu is caring and attentive - she takes tai chi seriously but not herself, and she loves to crack a joke.

Sad to say, the phrase "you never get a second chance to make a first impression" rings true. I walked down the stairs hoping for a welcoming greeting and someone who could answer questions. What I recieved was an indifferent stare from a woman who pointed me towards the wall with the class schedule and information, who then went back to whatever she was reading. I walked back up the stairs and tossed the brochure in the trash at the first corner garbage can. For the sake of their other students, hopefully their customer service has improved. Or perhaps they're following the "36 Chambers of Shaolin" style of recruitment, where one has to walk across a barrel bobbing in water to be accepted.
