Kiwi fruit tea with strawberry popping boba
    Christopher Y.

Overall a decent boba spot, the menu didn't really impress me as it wasn't as extensive or unique as other boba spots in the city. Got the kiwi fruit tea and it did have a somewhat artificial taste to it. However the prices are pretty good ($4 for a small & $5 for a large)!

It's the first legit bubble tea location that has met my expectations and located in the Bronx ! The drinks were amazing and device was quick. You could also pre order and pick up. Def check this place out.

I exclusively order from Taichi thru GrubHub, so I've never formally been in the store but they have countless times saved me from my overnight shifts at NYP in Bronxville. They're the only boba spot open late and this time I also ordered a sushi burrito and my god, it tasted so fresh and was so filling- I absolutely inhaled it. I would have added a picture of the sushi burrito but ...yeaa.. Anyway!, also, the fact that they can make the boba WARM is absolutely chef's kiss on these cold nights. I hope they continue to keep their business and hours because really they are exactly what I want and what I need when I need to survive work.

THE GOOD ----------------…read more+ Really, really, reallllllly good ramen and food (and just as good as our 1st time 4 years ago!) ++++ Pork Buns - Each order comes with 1 bun, so you can order 1 at a time. Pork was shredded and a little dry, but the Japanese mayo and other ingredients made it very good. ++++ Green Curry Ramen - EXCELLENT curry flavor, but it wasn't too strong. Ramen was cooked perfectly and plenty of ingredients inside, including 2 slices of cha siu and a half of a soft boiled egg. ++++ Blackbeard Ramen - Also fantastic broth flavor too and same comment as above regarding their ramen. ++++ Kids Tonkotsu Ramen - At just $7, this is a steal for a kids ramen. There was 1 piece of cha siu in it, but it was excellent for a kids bowl. + Food comes out fairly quickly. + Private parking lot, but it was packed on an early Saturday evening. THE NOT SO GOOD ---------------------------- - Service was a little disappointing. ---- One (young) waitress seemed very inpatient and was a bit flustered throughout the evening. Didn't appreciate her lack of cordialness. - Interior is tight. ---- There are only 5 tables in the restaurant and all of them can accommodate 2-4 people, MAX. There is also counter seating too for about 4-5 people. - It was freeezing inside when we came in on a frigid January Saturday evening, so keep your jacket on! MIXED THOUGHTS --------------------------- = Nada. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = We arrived at about 5:45 PM on a January Saturday evening and snagged the last available table. Turnover is relatively quick here though because all people are eating is ramen, but there was a large party of about 8 people waiting a good 15-25 minutes after we were seated.

Broth for the ramen mediocre, spicy noodles overcooked and tasted like a cheap Thai restaurant. But what really bothered me was the slow and confused service. Ordered a bowl of Ramen which took over 45 minutes to make. The restaurant wasn't too crowded and the only reason I can think of was the take out orders during lunch time. The waiters were moving around the restaurant a lot but kept forgetting to bring drinks from the bar or dishes from the kitchen. So drinks weren't cold and food wasn't warm enough. Noodles stretched out and without the correct texture. Overall very disappointing. Especially considering the previous Tampopo and the one on187th.

The chicken was crunchy and flavorful. Cooked to perfection. Their sauces are also really good. The matcha bubble tea is made with authentic matcha and it was so yummmy. I also enjoy the kitchen apps and entrées- the miso eggplant and agedashi tofu are great appetizers. The salmon teriyaki is always perfectly cooked and accompanied by fresh vegetables. As other reviewers have mentioned- the construction of the rolls can suffer at times- for me this usually looks like 1 at most 2 pieces losing their integrity when I pick them up. My friends and I agree that this is Riverdale, not A sushi hotspot desitation and we would rather sacrifice a point on the physical construction /proper sushi technique than go somewhere else that has beautiful perfectly rolled sushi- with less fresh fish or rolls that are more rice than filling. Also- the sushi IS good! I usually go for salmon, tuna and a sweet potato tempura roll The lunch specials (monday-saturday until 3:15 pm) are a really good deal and come with pretty good miso soup and a fresh side salad. I am appreciative that they run a little later in the day as well. Aoyu has always been very reasonable abt modifications- there is no upcharge for brown rice for lunch bento- easy to request veggie instead of pork gyoza, and I really don't like crab- imitation or otherwise- so they always let me sub a cucumber avocado roll instead. Thanks for being such a great restaurant in riverdale Aoyu!

The workers were super nice and friendly. They checked in on us to make sure we didn't have any issues ordering. The ordering site though was such a pain. I couldn't tell if items that I wanted were checked off and instead of being able to edit them once added to the cart, the item would have to be deleted and done over again. We were more frustrated with the website than anything. Food came out at a reasonable time. We were a party of 5. They have bells to ring as a thank you to the wait staff. Inside was pretty packed with people. They have an order option for to go orders. I LOVED the food. The combination of Jamaican meets Asian fusion was on point. The ox tail bao buns were so amazing and didn't disappoint. The combo of the sauce, ox tail, and sweet plantains were worth every penny. I ordered the curry chicken ramen and the mix of the curry with the pork soup option was delicious. We also had the jerk chicken ramen. Warning if you don't like spice, the jerk chicken does come with a kick so if you order spice level for your bowl, it'll add a level of added spice to it. The mushrooms in this bowl were so good and perfectly cooked!! I will definitely be hitting this spot up again. Place would've received a 5 if it wasn't for the ordering system.

I loved the ambiance of the place, it was so cozy, warm and relaxing. The music they were playing matched perfectly with the vibe and aesthetics of the place, it was soft and romantic in a way. There are plenty of tables available for groups or solo dates. This is a perfect place to sit down and journal or get some work done. I literally only waited 10 minutes from start to finish to get my takeout, I sat down on one of the available tables and immediately started reading my Bible app, truly relaxing. Half of the tablets were occupied but everyone appeared to be relaxed and just enjoying their meals so the noise level was low. If you're waiting for takeout they give you a ticket and then bring your takeout to the table you're at. If you ordered in advance for a pick up you just walk to the counter and they hand over your food. The staff were friendly and graceful. While I was ordering my food at the counter, I was able to see the staff handling some of the food. They were plating, and I was pleasantly surprised with the fact that all of them were wearing gloves even while they were taking the prepared food to the tables. You get 5% off your bill if you pay with cash. There are no atms inside. Now let's talk about the actual food, the star of the show. I ordered the claypot braised pork belly and I was notttt disappointed! This meal was such a unique experience. I am used to eating very flavorful and well seasoned dishes overall so I've tasted plenty of dishes that had more flavor than this. However, I have never enjoyed a dish that was so intentional with all of its textures and tastes. The rice was soft and light, and the vegetables had the perfect amount of crunch and spice, while the pork had a mild sweetness to it. The egg was a perfect add on to put it all together. This is the kind of plate that you have to truly eat everything it's served with to fully enjoy all of the different textures and flavors that it brings. If any of the spices or flavors would've been overwhelming, it would take away from the other flavors every item on the plate has to offer. I put a little of everything with each bite, yummm. The only flaw with the dish unfortunately is that the larger portions of the pork were chewy and a bit dry, which based on other reviews seems to be a thing. The smaller pieces were very tender and delicious. I will definitely order again from here. I'm excited to try their homemade soda, coffees and their summer/spring roles Happy yelping and enjoy
