*Note: will update after I take a few yoga classes here, for now it's just for the introductory session they offer. I took an introductory class here, which promised to evaluate my fitness level. I signed up for a 10 class trial strictly due to proximity to my house. The price comes out to be under $20 per class, which is par to other yoga studios. I am NOT a believer of holistic medicine, and am turned off by this energy/spirit talk. I am not at all religious, so this isn't about offending my religious sensibilities. The problem I have with this place is that it does not promote empirically tested and scientifically sound theories. However, I am willing to overlook this as I plan to come here for yoga, not because I am seeking a higher truth or medical care. As mentioned before, after a few yoga sessions, I'll review the classes themselves. The instructor I met with is charismatic, calm, respectful, and friendly. Master Kim is a great instructor and healer at body and brain studio. He cares about you and your physical condition. I've been going to this studio and classes since year and half ago when I had lower back injury. This class has helped me with my pains and movement limitations a lot. Through the practices, you get to release a lot of muscle tensions and increase the flow of energy and blood circulation in your body. For the past 9 years that I joined this class, even before pandemics I went to this class every day. This practice has helped me in many ways by learning how to breath deeply, stretching to feel my blockages in my body, opening those blockages by free body movements to get to the free flow body movement. The best part is the meditation which is helping me to calmly breath and feel my soul. This practice is helping me to be more flexible by releasing and relaxing my stress and tensions. I have been attending Body & Brain yoga /meditation classes and workshops for the past 7 years. Originally, I thought to try a class or two for stress relief. I am grateful for Dahn yoga in so many ways. To name one, I used to get horrible migraines and had so much tension in my upper back. I had frequent massages, but the relief was only temporary. Once I started Dahn, within 3 months the occurrences of my migraines decreased immensely. AND the breathing/relaxation tools I learned in Dahn yoga helped me manage my stress better, so the tension stopped building up in my shoulders. It is amazing what brain and body yoga does to the healing of your body. I am glad I found this place. Master Kim is truly a true healer in his field. As a physician, I am totally amazed how I felt after one session, there is no word to express the power of this healing method. This only proves even more that the body heals itself if we allow it to. As a Christian I was worry about certain religious association because of the word yoga. Actually this is open to any faith as it is not religious at all since it focus on energy but mostly body and mind healing using stretching and exercise that focus on acupressure point and meridian like acupuncture except you do it your self. I've been attending classes for about a year. I was looking for a place to learn and practice yoga. What I found was much much more. The yoga is varied every day so there is no boredom with the routines. Also included in the training are brain exercises which are fun and have definitely helped me with my balance and coordination. As a novice, I found that I could proceed at my own speed without worrying about being perfect. The instructors and other students have created a warm, supportive and fun environment with zero judgment. It's very comfortable, and Master Kim has demonstrated amazing healing abilities. He is respectful, caring, and has a wonderful sense of humor. There is an opportunity to grow mentally by using physical exercise and brain development techniques. There is spiritual growth available but there is no religion. It's more of a recognition and appreciation for the lives we've been given and for our communities and for the earth we live on.
