The property is absolutely beautiful, and there is so much to see and do that you really could spend an entire day here. One of my favorite things about the park is being able to get up close to so many different horses and learn about the different breeds. The Hall of Champions was especially interesting, and seeing the famous horses and learning about their history was a really cool experience. The International Museum of the Horse is another major highlight. Even if you're not a huge horse expert, there's so much history and information that it's genuinely interesting and educational. There are also other barns, exhibits, demonstrations, sculptures, and attractions throughout the park. The horse presentations and demonstrations really add to the experience because you're not just walking around looking at horses. You actually get to see them in action and learn about their history, breeds, training, and roles. The horse-drawn trolley ride is also a fun way to see more of the massive property. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained, and the staff we encountered were friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell this is a place where people genuinely care about the horses and about sharing Kentucky's horse history with visitors. There is a fair amount of walking, so comfortable shoes are definitely recommended, but that's part of what makes the experience so enjoyable. There are so many different areas to explore that it never really feels like you're just doing the same thing over and over. Whether you're a serious horse lover or just looking for something different to do around Lexington, I would highly recommend the Kentucky Horse Park.
